My parents purchased solar from a HORRIBLE company that sounds a lot like 'SunFun'. After they passed away, and the house was sold...we were STILL making the monthly payments for over a year!!! That SunFun organization REFUSED to transfer the solar to the new homeowner, and eventually stopped taking or acknowledging our calls. It wasn't until we had to threaten the new homeowner with a lawsuit that SunFun finally transferred ownership. Due to this, we could not trust any of these solar companies...that is, until Kevin Bedard came to our home, and explained everything in great detail to my husband and I. He took the time to hear about our concerns, and he showed us how he truly cared. That same week, we spoke to two other families who shared their positive experiences about Ambrose Solar that made us feel that we would be in great hands. We had FINALLY FOUND A PEACE about getting solar on our home; KNOWING we would be in good hands, and we were ALL IN. It's been six months now, and we are beyond pleased with our solar panels, and the two Tesla batteries we have purchased. We are true fans, who have NOTHING but RAVE REVIEWS for this company. If you don't have solar, or if you need to add solar, Kevin Bedard is your man! and Ambrose is your company. Every employee has been amazing and helpful. Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!

I did not realize Magic Sun sacrificed the quality of my pool solar to sell me more electric solar... not cool. The pool solar is totally useless, does not produce any heat, when I asked for a review I was told I would need to cut down my (4) Birch trees (very delicate branches) in order for pool solar to work. This was not suggested or shared when installing the solar, perhaps they knew that would be a hard no. I will need to have new pool solar installed and repair my new roof. I am floored that Magic Sun could not manage to provide good pool solar and add enough electric solar to satisfy their profit. 1 star is being generous.

We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. All in all, if you need a new roof or solar system or home battery, or all of the above, call Volt. They are a competent and professional group of local people who are really f**king good at what they do.

There was some question about a possible system leak of refrigerant. Nick performed an extensive series of leak tests and found none leaks. He did what we've come to expect from Brower, i.e. be honest on the performance of our HVAC and don't try to upsell us on expensive repairs or replacement until it is truly necessary. I selected Spartan because they went the extra mile. I had outdated 16" skylights and Spartan contacted the skylight company and set up special replacements. They also were on time for meetings, had great communications about the process and did what they promised without trying to upsell me. They used quality product and did a super job with repairs around my chimney. To top it off, they were in and out in 3 days and cleaned up every day. Their pricing was the best of the three contractors we considered, and they were also the only company willing to set up a non-export system so we could preserve our NEM 2.0 status and still get permission to operate from PG&E. That was a huge advantage for us, since other contractors were pushing us toward NEM 3.0. Their sales team was patient, helpful, and not pushy at all. They walked us through our options clearly, were honest about scheduling constraints, and still found a way to get us in on a pretty good timeline. They also came up with creative solutions when other issues popped up, which we really appreciated. We're very happy so far with our 14 additional panels and Tesla Powerwall 3. It is just 2 days after the fix. So, i don't know for sure that the problem is gone for good. Hopefully so. Before buying be sure to address who will pay for your electricity when the system has a fault during the warranty period. I don't yet get notifications from the Tesla app (hoping I can get that fixed). So, the impact of a down system on my PGE bill can be worse than when I know the system is down. I could give HOS 5 stars if they would pay for my costs due to system down time. They have declined to do so. So, I think 3 stars is more than fair at this point. HOS system owners: When you have a problem contact your HOS sales person. No one answers their customer service # (and replies to voice messages there are pretty iffy). Also, if you need a technician visit be sure to tell HOS that you expect the technician to show up with ALL the tools needed to diagnose a system fault lest you be forced to wait extra days for a repair.
