If you want a cake that looks beautiful and tastes great, look no further! My husband is very passionate about cooking and baking, so he didn't want just an "ordinary" wedding cake. He truly wanted it to taste amazing! So when we found Connor and his list of craft flavors, our interest was immediately piqued. We met up with Connor at a coffee shop to sample his cakes, and as soon as we did there was no question we wanted to work with him! Every flavor we tried was delicious, but we ended up going with coconut mango passion fruit, Amaretto blackberry, and Earl gray cardamom. Connor actually updated some of his flavors prior to our wedding and very kindly sent us a sample box of the flavors that had changed alongside the original flavor, so we could compare and contrast. We ended up switching the earl grey cardamom to his newly developed may grey! It's so cool how he's constantly continuing to evolve and hone his flavors. Connor is incredibly kind and easy to work with, as well as very responsive. We went back and forth on the exact details of our cake design several times, and he provided us with numerous sketches for our approval. Connor is also very aware of and openly discusses the potential issues with cakes ie melting/ transport issues so that you can make an informed decision. He offered to make our cake with a white chocolate ganache coating as opposed to vanilla buttercream as that would be more stable and less likely to melt, and also provided a sample of this with his new cake flavors. We chose to go with the buttercream, but really appreciated him discussing this with us and presenting us with the option. We had zero issues with the integrity of the cake, it looked amazing when it arrived and continued to look amazing the entire night. We highly recommend working with Connor! If I could give the cake and cupcakes that Connor made for my daughter and son-in-law's baby shower 100 bright shining stars, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment! The artistry, care and love that he puts into his creations is phenomenal and the result is truly a work of art! We had 41 people attending and I ordered a cake that would feed that many and more with the cupcakes and so many guests commented not only on the look, but on the flavors! We had a wildflower theme and my daughter chose the Seasonal Spring 'Roasted Strawberry Cardamom' for the cake and the 'Black and White' for the cupcakes. This review is long overdue. Connor deserves 10 stars! Where to begin with Connor? Let me start by saying that he is not the typical cake chef, he is BEYOND THAT. If having a beautiful cake + flavors to die for is your intention (plus wow'ing your guests), there is no one else you can choose but Connor. He was such a SPECIAL vendor to have on my team. He took the time to have multiple conversations with me since I wasn't completely sure on what flavors to go with (all of his flavors sounded amazing to me), as well as to talk about the vision I wanted him to bring to life. It was really important to me to not have a typical cake. I wanted to have a real piece of art, the types of cakes you can find on Pinterest ... and that is exactly what Connor delivered. I asked for things that are not very typical: draping, a marbled look, multiple colors, wafer paper flowers vs real ones, etc. None of it was beyond his reach. Not only is he an extremely capable cake chef who is unafraid of tackling new styles and executing them beautifully, he has the most wonderful personality! We hired Connor to make our wedding cake and we are tremendously happy we did. We were in the unique position of planning our California wedding while living in Massachusetts, but Connor was awesome to work with. He was extremely communicative over phone and email, he offered to ship samples to us (but we ended up trying them when we happened to be in California for other reasons), and he understood our colorful/wildflower vision perfectly. He sent us some mock-ups of the cake design, we iterated a few times, and the final product was exactly what we were looking for. The flavors were also delicious - we ended up going with 3 flavors because we loved them so much. These custom cakes are awesome! So far, I have tried three different flavors of cake: amaretto apricot, black forest, and cranberry Grand Marnier. Each cake was moist with incredible flavor.
