I went in a couple of months ago to get a smog check and Charles gave me a "pre smog test", since I'd recently gotten a new engine. It didn't pass. Charles said there are tutorials on YT that explains how to do that...it didn't work. I took it to the dealership, and they fixed it. I took it to Cono's yesterday, and they had me in and out in 15 minutes. Charles was very kind and professional! read more

I got a smog check. It passed. The reason for three stars is because after 30 minutes of the most meticulous intense inspection of: exhaust, battery, gas cap, under the hood, under dashboard, tires (WTF?), multiple high speed drives on machine...he then rev'd the hell out of my engine multiple times while video recording my exhaust with his phone, looking for any hint of smoke. What's the point of sticking your expensive high-speed smog equipment in my exhaust if you still need a video of it? And he reminded me how expensive his equipment is which is why he charged me $80. Nowhere in my smog certificate did it show that my car past the video inspection. Ultimately, I didn't appreciate him reving the hell out of my engine for an unnecessary video. I take care of my cars. And in the end it felt like he was looking for a reason to fail my inspection. Never again. read more
