I love Consuelo's! I was reluctant the first time I tried it because I'm not big on mexican food and it's a small obscure looking place, but man is it delicious. Their beef burritos are packed with meat and very flavorful. Plus you can get a nice sized burrito for about 6$! It's a way better value than Taco Bell. I love this place! Great Mexican food on the go or to stay on a casual covered patio. You order at the counter and take a seat. They have a busy drive through as well. Seems to be family operated. The food was delicious, but my $3 small horchata was not even filled 3/4s of the way. Who cares, not a big deal. I was in today and it was my first time going into the location. The cashier was very friendly, although it sort of ruins the experience when the cooks in the back are loudly criticizing your food choices. Service is so inconsistent. You may, if you're lucky, receive reasonable service 1 out of every 5 visits. Why I've gone back to be treated like I'm bothering them is beyond me. Ordered by drive-thru for the first time today and was shocked that my meal of 4 tacos, a med drink with a side of chips and salsa was $18.99! I thought I misunderstood it for $8.99. NOPE, IT WAS $18.99!!!!! I've never paid that much for a similar meal of more food when dining in. When I asked the lady at the drive-thru why it was so much, she itemized everything as matter of fact. I argued that their 4 taco dinner dining in was cheaper and included beans and rice and a side of chips and salsa. So less food but much more expensive at drive-thru. Changed my order to the 4 taco dinner even though I didn't want that much food, but still had to pay for chips and salsa so it saved me a whopping $2 and I gained attitude from the server. Why charge drive-thru customers for something you're willing to give away for free?? You can't argue that the packaging to put the chips and salsa in costs more than the labor to clean the dining area and dishes it's served on. They shouldn't penalize drive thru patrons considering it is such a challenge to park at their cramped and nearly non-existent lot. After leaving angry, I sat down to eat and found only 3 tacos in my meal...not 4. It's really unfortunate because I like the tacos and that is the ONLY good thing about the place. Not worth the questionable experiences and value. Done. I'll never go back! read more

Poor execution. I waited in the drive through for almost a half an hour this morning while watching droves of people park get their food and leave while I didn't move and inch. I guess I'm a little confused as to why you would have a drive through if you aren't going to service that portion of the business in the same way as the walk up counter. So, to top it off, once I did receive my food it was cold. This place used to be fantastic when in Campus West. I would recommend spending your money at one of the many competitors. You can't get a better breakfast burrito in fort Collins, especially for $3. Great green chili (hot is actually hot!!). Unlike most places there is a good portion of meat in almost every bite. So far I've never had any errors on an order. Staff seems friendly for 6 in the morning. Punch card where the 10th burrito is free, awesome. Quick (usually, sometimes a construction foreman gets like 20 burritos and it takes a little bit)), easy, delicious. I'll be here murdering breakfast burritos damn near every morning!! read more

Would get more stars except for the bad customer service. I ordered two bean burritos, deluxe, got home and there was beef in the burritos which my husband and I can not eat. I called about the mix up and was told in order for them to have the correct order delivered to my house, I needed to take a picture of the burritos and send to them so they could verify that they were really meat and the order was really incorrect ....(in case I could not tell meat from beans?). I was informed when I called back that I had sent the pictures to their land line and I would need to try again to a different number .... THEY HAVE A POLICY... NO PICTURE OF THEIR MISTAKE ... NO MAKING RIGHT THEIR MISTAKE. I ended up driving back and getting a refund ... wasted an hour of my time and not even a "sorry" from the manager. read more

I decided to try Consuelo's after a recommendation and thinking it would be better than Taco Bell. I ordered two kids' meals, a burrito dinner, and a chimichanga. The food I received was a complete mess. I couldn't tell which was which and the sauce spilled out over everything inside the bag. I had to drive all the way back to because it was just too messy; and even the manager was baffled by how it had been bagged. They said they needed to remake the order; but after seeing the food I received, I wasn't interested. I asked for a refund, which they gave me for the food, but they didn't refund my tip. I would not recommend anyone that is looking for some good food to eat; I would recommend Taco Bell over this which says a lot. read more

Ordered a bean burrito with vegetarian green chili. They brought us the non-veg chili with meat in it, no big deal. They went to re-make the burrito. Then they brought out a ground beef burrito covered in vegetarian green chili. Not a big deal, I just don't eat meat so it was a bummer that they messed it up twice. We were in a rush, so we just said we were leaving and that they messed the order up again. Then they offered to either refund us, or re-make the burrito. We chose to get our money back because we had to run. So what do they do? Went back into the kitchen and re-made the burrito to-go and didn't give us a refund. We're usually very pleased with their food, but this was sort of ridiculous. The employee also seemed very annoyed to have to re-make the food for us after the first mess up, and sighed like we were wasting her time. Not apologetic, or even understanding of the fact that I was a vegetarian and she gave me a burrito with meat... Twice. 2 stars is generous. read more

Nope. 8 I pulled in at 801 and waited 5 minutes for a guy to order and than got trapped trying to get out while waiting 15 minutes for that. Late for my appointment and starving. Change your hours online your business just went to qdoba! A few Sunday's ago we noticed you close at 11 and watched the grumpy employees kicking everyone out the door at 10:30. Rude employees. This was the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. I'm from New Mexico and was a little insulted that they had the New Mexican Zia symbol on their logo since the food was so bad. I got a pork breakfast burrito combo. It advertised a 16 oz soda, coffee, or orange juice and hash browns. The hash browns were disgusting. They were actually tater tots and chewy not crunchy. The orange juice was lukewarm and bitter and only 10 oz. It looked like a bottle of juice for a child. The shredded pork was dry beyond reason which was impressive considering how wet the rest of the burrito was. The green chile had been premixed with low grade cheese resulting in an incredibly slimy and watery chile. The eggs were flavorless and felt like soft rubber. The potatoes had no seasoning and a similar texture to the eggs. The tortilla was unremarkable. I couldn't finish the burrito because of how gross the egg chile combination was and how dry and tasteless the pork was. Do not eat here. Go to one of the many other Mexican restaurants or food trucks around Fort Collins. read more

Great place to get a drive thru breakfast burrito for $2.75. They have a special menu in the mornings for the burritos and have quite the selection of types. They are made to order so they are always fresh, just be prepared to wait a bit. If you see more than 4 or 5 cars lined up don't go if your in a hurry.I like to get a couple extra that don't have eggs and put them in the fridge for a quick lunch or snack. read more

This is one of two options for New Mexican (yes New, not just Mexican) food in Fort Collins and it happens to be the closest to my work so I've been here many times. I honestly don't know why I return. Each time I'm continuously let down. I grew up in New Mexico so I know the native cuisine really well. I've ordred cheese enchiladas here togo just to get to eating them and realize the cheese inside is cold and not even melted. I've asked for my food to be cooked a certain way on my visits (crispy fries) and they literally NEVER do it. The staff seem to not care about whether they get your order right or if you come back at all. They stay in business because they supply all the local gas stations with breakfast burritos and also sell their green chile sauce at local stores. I can buy the sauce and make better food with it at home. The heat level of the sauce is super inconsistent too. A medium green chile with pork is not as hot as a medium vegetarian. The sopaipilla I got was more like a hard churro patty than a sopaipilla. There's a lot they could do better here. It's a poor representation of New Mexican food. read more
