I am writing to describe my experience while shopping at the Commack store of Consumers, Kitchens and Baths . As I suppose most people do when making such an expensive purchase such as a kitchen , I did a fair amount of shopping . I stopped into Consumers for two reasons , one because they were close to the home location and two , because I noticed they had been around for years . I met with Patrick Curren , a sales associate and kitchen designer . Thus is the reason for my letter . This guy was fantastic , in every way . He planned our kitchen , giving us ideas we didn't think were possible in our galley space. He was current , knew the trends , and was patient . He never pressured us , knew his products and gave us food for thought , and that kept us coming back . We took his appliance store recommendation and ordered the Quartz counter tops through Consumers as well . We came away feeling that we got the best products available for our budget . He was responsive to our concerns when we had then , offered solutions and all in a timely fashion , Patrick Cutran is truly an asset to your business anf is the sole reason we shopped at Consumers . He will be recommended each and every chance I get . read more

As of today in December 2, I have still heard nothing from consumer kitchens - Sold me $68k of defective StarMark painted cabinets and then went silent In 2019 I purchased over $70,000 of StarMark Syracuse Maple Black painted cabinetry through Consumers Kitchens & Baths (multiple Long Island locations). By 2023-2025 every single door, drawer front, end panel, and even the glued-in cabinet boxes are catastrophically failing: * Paint bubbling and peeling on untouched surfaces and raised center panels * Miter joints opening * Rails warping and delaminating MasterBrand's own November 21, 2025 letter (photos attached to this review) admits the finish is "compromised" and the MDF panels swollen, yet blames me for "excessive moisture/water damage and normal wear." They offered to replace only 14 pieces (less than half) as a "one-time courtesy" and demanded I permanently waive my Lifetime Warranty rights. Consumers Kitchens & Baths response? Complete silence. They sold me cabinets that fail multiple mandatory ANSI/KCMA A161.1 tests (Finish Adhesion 5.4.1, Joint Strength 5.3, Shrinkage & Heat 5.8, Humidity Resistance 4.3.3/4.3.6), took my money, and now refuse to stand behind the sale or help force MasterBrand to honor the warranty. This is the exact same defect dozens of other 2019-2022 StarMark/Schuler/Omega painted cabinet owners are experiencing nationwide. Consumers Kitchens knew or should have known these painted finishes were failing across the country, yet they kept selling them. If you're considering painted cabinets from Consumers Kitchens & Baths, run the other way. They will happily take your six-figure check and then disappear the moment the paint starts peeling off the walls. I was moving from a home to a condo and Consumers did my kitchen in my old home in Commack, NY and they were so great to work with. I decided to use them again for my new condo so my kitchen could be just as beautiful. We met John Solomita he was so considerate, kind, and caring. Most of all he listened to how important it was for me to have as nice of a kitchen in my new place. After working out a beautiful plan with John we needed a price and once again consumers came through for us and treats their repeat customers like they care that you came back. We ended up having some issues with our install and needed to make some changes which was not all Consumers Kitchens fault or Johns. Just some things that came up along the way. John and Kevin the manager where there for us each time with their understanding and caring and would do anything to make things right and make me happy as a repeat customer. In the end with all of Consumers help from John to the Warehouse people and drivers I have the most beautiful kitchen now. I can not thank you John and all at Consumers Kitchen in Commack for everything once again. Your customer service has been amazing as well. If you are looking to do a new kitchen or bath Consumers in Commack, NY is your place you will not be disappointed especially if you are lucky enough to work with John. big show room filled with lots and lots of kitchen stuff including their clearance appliances I bought an item off and ebay auction they had sadly the service in the place very slow yet the place was empty actually had to argue when I said I have come to pick up my oven and they told me to go to Holbrook and I had to repeat numerous time my ebay email said come pick up in Commack finally another gentleman heard me and bailed me out the two guys who clearly are not warehouse guys helped me get the oven in the truck yes a good price but the sales people need a lesson in nice read more

LIED ABOUT PRICE MATCH POLICY!!!! NONEXISTENT - BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! COMMACK LOCATION!!! If they could lie about this I can only imagine the type of service I'd receive if my appliance broke down!!!! I found an appliance that I liked at a competitor and asked if they could price match a local competitor since I had been in their store a few days before looking at kitchens. their appliance specialist said he'd check with corporate and emailed me back that they COULD NOT price match. I then asked why they FALSE ADVERTISED to customers much less advertise that they'll match and beat!!! LIARS!!!! The guy then said they just don't - when I said its false advertising he never responded to my email. When I asked for corporates number? Again NO RESPONSE!!! BEWARE and take your business somewhere where it'll be appreciated. It has been a while but I was so pissed off with their unprofessional Ways that I will be sure to reach out to Bbb as well. Needless to say I Purchased my appliance and lowes where they happily matched the price and included free delivery!!!! Update to James' comment: Wouldn't it be rude for me to ask a store to take their printed price tag to show you? A picture should suffice. Even if you can't accept a picture- I was willing to provide print and went as far as telling your rep that if he just visited the competitors online website the price online was the same as the store! And this too wasn't good enough for you guys? He didn't care he just said we can't and that's it. When I asked why and for corporates number I was ignored and my email was never acknowledged. I'm sorry but I went over and beyond - your matching policy is non existent! I was just so furious with the entire process I wanted other to know that you're false advertising and what a horrible experience this has been! I had a consultant who was totally inefficient and managed to drag out the process for MONTHS (the kitchen is 9' x 15' with the extension.)He had no creativity, no ideas, and when I asked for a semicircle as the end-cap he said they only had a-rounded corner which left 2/3 straight. While leaving the showroom by a different exit I spotted the piece I had been requesting. He never did his homework he waited until I arrived to update the layout. So after an hour + drive he would first start entering the new dimensions. He had to send the Measurer out twice because he didn't put down that I was extending the kitchen. I asked the Measurer to please take the additional dimensions but he said he could only measure what the consultant had requested. That was a four week delay and when I arrived he hadn't changed the plan to reflect the new measurements. After pacing the showroom for an hour he was finally ready to start. I first called them in the middle of March this is the end of August -- still no cabinets -- still no ETA for the cabinets to be delivered. Their expediter was the only one who was consistently honest, helpful, and compassionate. read more

Great design services, poor corporate attitude. If you're looking for a kitchen designer, Jim at the Commack store is your guy: responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. For after-the-fact details once payment is given? One star. Our Wellborn Forest cabinets were delivered in less than perfect condition: drawers that don't function, damaged shelves, warped cabinet doors, and a shelf that was entirely missing. While we certainly don't blame a manufacturer's quality control problems on Consumers, the way that resolution was handled left much to be desired. After many unsuccessful attempts of confirming replacement and delivery for the damaged items, we visited the store for answers. The manager Diana was rude and dismissive, refusing to speak with us (the customer) and deflected all focus to our contractor installer. The office that handles repairs is very difficult to get a return phone call, and the few details we did receive were in constant contradiction (conflicting order numbers, inaccurate contact information, cancelled delivery dates, incomplete shipments...the list of frustration goes on.) There is just overall dysfunction and a real lack of attention to customer satisfaction. It's been over a month now and we are still not resolved. We were planning on using Consumers for our bathroom remodel, but after this experience? We will be sure to stay away. NOTE: This is my second attempt at leaving a review. I recently wrote a review, bashing the Commack Consumers Kitchen & Bath because they really messed up my order and I could not get anybody to help me rectify the situation. After my review was posted I got a call from the Commack Manager, Dianna Tanis, whom I had never spoken to before. I am very pleased to say that Dianna not only located my hardware, but she sent somebody to my home to install it, since my contractor had already finished his part of the job. I wish I had gone to her one of the many times I had contacted the store. I feel confident that Dianna will look into what happened and bring the level of customer service up to where it should be. I had special needs and I was concerned that combining my kitchen and dining room, completely redoing both, would be overwhelming. My contractor recommended Jim Sehn at the Consumer's Kitchen and Bath store in Commack. Jim was excellent. The store is huge, but Jim listened to me, understood my needs and preferences, and narrowed the choices. This made things easy and, most important, he made me feel comfortable. With pictures and measurements of the rooms we constructed, on his computer, what the rooms could look like. It was shown to me on a large TV screen and printed out. Jim pointed out the items on sale. I brought it home and made some changes and brought it back. I was relieved that it could be one stop shopping, I was able to select the countertops, backsplash, sink and faucets there and there was absolutely no pressure to do so. Jim did give valuable and important suggestions, with no pressure whatsoever. Some important points: 1. I was never out of the loop, I was always informed but the store worked very closely with my contractor. 2. Jim gave me very accurate dates for the measurements and delivery of the cabinets, countertops and backsplash. 3. On a project this size there is always a hiccup or two and how a store responds is greatly important. My lazy Susan was a bit too lazy. I notified Jim and in just a few days a repair person was sent to access the situation, order parts and then repair it. When I was not happy with one of the borders on one backsplash, (no one fault, we thought it would look different) a crew came and adjusted it the very next day. My only suggestion is that if you are getting new appliances, as we did, it is best to come in with their measurements and model numbers so they can be incorporated into the design. read more

Really poor customer service. I placed an order with them for kitchen knobs which they won't ship to you (unless you pay an extra $20) so you have to go pick everything up in Holbrook. Fine. Order comes in and when I pick it up the color of the item is wrong. Instead of switching it all right there, you have to rerun, reorder and run back and forth between their warehouse and their showroom. Instead of waiting at that location I thought Id go to the original sales people where I bought the item in the first place in Commack. When I go in no one comes up to you, so you stand around aimlessly until you make yourself known. When I sit down with a different sales lady and explain why Im upset she starts to help, then decides to pick up a phone call in the middle of my being right there and spend 15 minutes chatting with another client. Really?? If you're with a client shouldn't you offer to call second client right back? This was the most bizarre customer service I've ever seen and I was so ticked off at this point I grabbed my papers and left. No wonder this place is failing - they really need to update how they treat paying customers. I got a refund and won't be going back. read more

I did not want to renovate my kitchen. It was literally falling apart, and I had no choice, I went kicking and screaming to several designers before I ventured into Consumers in Commack. I met with Jim, and my journey began. He was very patient and helpful, and designed me my dream kitchen. I then met Phil in appliances, where I was taught all I needed to know about appliances that weren't still from the 1980s, he was funny and very knowledgeable. I found the discounts comparable, even lower than other retailers. This also was planned just before the Christmas Holidays, with work commencing Feb.1. Not the best timeframe, but it worked for us, and everyone at Consumers was very accommodating. As with any project there were several glitches, and they were handled competently, and to my satisfaction by Jim and Diana, and I thank them both for getting me what I needed, when I needed it, and I was able to see I'd been putting off a project that really wasn't all that terrible, and now I am the proud owner of a beautiful kitchen! I am positive I would still be stuck in the 80s if it wasn't for the wonderful folks at Consumers! footnote: I would not hesitate to return for any future needs! I have been doing business with consumers for many years. Recently I had to have two bathrooms redone. The first time I came back to consumers for the first bathroom was in February 2017. Jim was very friendly and helped me to make choices and to got everything sent to me on time for the reinstallation of my bathroom. Everything matched and looked great. I was so pleased with how the first bathroom came out that I returned to consumers for a vanity, sink and mirror for my second bathroom. This time I worked with Brian Meyers. He had such patience with me as I kept coming back to change my mind on several different items. I have nothing but good things to say about Consumers. They have many different choices to pick from and when they say that they can get something to you at a certain date it is always there on time. The workers there are all willing to help. I have nothing but good things to say about Brian and how well he handled my situation. I would definitely recommend Consumers to my friends and family. If I ever decide to have my kitchen redone I would definitely go back to them once again. read more

I purchased kitchen and bath cabinets from this location and i think the Sales people are status quo - they hardly think outside the box in terms of design and layout. Also, they like to influence their decisions and tastes and when you don't agree with them, the conversation gets harder. They do return calls, unlike other locations (east meadow) but they get frusturated very quickly when you ask questions. Also, don't plan on spending more than 1/2 hr with them b/c they get restless.. I spent over 30K and didn't even get a color print out w.o getting an attitude. for this $$ i would go somewhere else -- the only reason i stayed was b/c i was purchasing thorugh my builder. Also, their show rooms are stale - alot of designs are still from the 80s!!! read more

I had a bathroom counter and cabinet done at the store. They measured wrong, the counter was cut wrong and the fixtures did not match the faucet. Everything from start to finish was a disaster. Did I mention, they were incredibly expensive. I mistakenly thought that the high price would ensure better service. It was worse. They denied everything, didn't come to look at it and then fought me the entire way. They know that you will just give up in the end. read more
