Now we have to not only purchase a new dress but also find and pay for a quality tailor. Said they will fix it. No thank you! While preparing to travel to the east coast, I pulled my big wool winter coat out of the closet, where it had sat neglected for years and found it COVERED in cat hair and lint - and with a musty odor to boot. I called ahead on Tuesday to ask about the turnaround and the nice gentleman told me he could have it ready by Friday. As promised, he turned my hot mess of a musty lint rag back into a beautiful coat that looks like new. I've had this thing dry cleaned elsewhere a few times and never have they gotten it so pristine as this nice gentleman did. He really went above and beyond. And he only charged me $20. (I actually had the Yelp 10% off coupon pulled up on my phone but when he told me the price I decided not to use it because I KNOW how much work he must have put into it I didn't feel good accepting any discounts.). I've been bringing clothes here to be dry cleaned for a few years now with no issues, until now. I brought in 3 items on a Monday and was told they would be ready on Friday. I came back on Friday and they were not ready. Amir says come back on Tuesday. I come back on Tuesday to pick up and notice that one of the jackets had a broken button. When I brought it to his attention he said that they would try to find a button that matches. I just picked the jacket up today and they replaced another button which he says was broken too. Ok fine but now I have a jacket with 2 white buttons and 2 off white buttons and are larger than the others. They are not even close to matching! He tells me that they did their best and that is all he could do for me. Then he suggests that I should go buy buttons that match and they will sew them on for free. Gee thanks a lot Amir!!! You guys broke the buttons but I should go buy new buttons??? I absolutely will not be bringing my business back to Continental Cleaners anymore. Pola is a miracle worker!!! Their prices are amazing and they offer such quick alterations. I took a dress in to close the slit, most places refused to do it because the sewing line would show but Pola was able to do without hesitation and with precision. You couldn't tell it was altered. I went in to pick up my dress 2 days before my event and my mom insisted we take it out a little from the bust to avoid it being too tight. Pola didn't hesitate and was able to take it out an inch in 2 days!!! The dress was embellished and she did such an amazing job, you can't tell it was altered. Took my wedding dress to get altered, she pinned where it needed altered and how much, she also told me she was going to add fabric in the back, picked up the dress and the dress still was just as big as when i brought it she barely took anything in and didnt add the fabric to the back like i paid for. The dress was litterally falling off my shoulders still. Was super disappointed in the outcome and had to take it to a different place to actually make the dress fit. And they also call you 8 times in a row who knows how many times if i didnt answer! They harass you when you give a bad review and are mean about it when it was their fault and not mine they messed up. Super unprofessional! They kept asking me to take down my review and i will not. Thats probably why they dont have many 1 stars because they harass people then write comments on your review because you still didnt take down your review. read more

Coupon offer of 20% off is not honored if you don't tell him when you drop off clothes even though payment not required until pickup. I asked owner in good faith when dropping off clothes what his discount is for new customers (having read Yelp) just to see if he would disclose but he only gave the standard 5 dollars off. Gave owner chance to retain as customer at pickup but he wouldn't give the 20% off even as new customer. Will go elsewhere for dry cleaning as this shows (to me) that a few dollars saved is more important than winning a customer for life in the Poway area. Update: See the owner response below. I asked him to honor the new customer discount instead of the standard 5 dollars off (not adding on top of the 5 dollar discount). In this economy of choice, I want to choose who I give my money to and establish relationships with whoever I interact with, whether it's restaurants or other small businesses. An owner who does not disclose the 20% discount but rather tries to nickel and dime shows where their heart is. I believe that if you offer a new customer discount, you should honor it instead of arguing about fine print especially if the customer has not paid yet. As Lindsay states below, this is a shady business practice. I don't leave reviews often and will only leave them to warn people. These type of interactions in a world of negativity and lack of ownership are not needed in my life, and fortunately, there's plenty of great other choices. Brought my wedding dress and my husband's wedding suit in for cleaning. Both the dress and suit were very dirty at the bottom since it was an outdoor wedding, but Continental Cleaners was able to get out all the dirt stains! When we picked up the clothing from the Cleaners, the garments were in perfect shape and looked brand new again! The turnaround time was quick too. YOU GUYS SAVED MY DRESS. I live in the bay area and was had a alterations shop working on my wedding dress. Without going into that much detail, they messed up my terribly. The material isn't super easy to work with, if you mess up the stitches or the lining, you can see everything. It didn't fit right around the bodice, it was too loose around the waist and hips. They added double cups to lift the bust and you couldn't even tell. We drove down for our wedding a week prior and I just knew I wanted to have it adjusted. I called Continental Cleaners by a recommendation of our friends and even though they were busy, they agreed to take my dress. YOU GUYS, my dress fit me like a GLOVE. They took in the bodice so it actually stayed up, you could tell there were cups for the bust, they fixed the under lining (which the previous shop failed to even do causing lumping on the sides), they even steamed and pressed my dress and veil. They did all of this in under 5 days. Let me tell you, I was so nervous since we were down to the wire with time, but they were so kind and made me feel comfortable leaving my dress with them.
