I called to no avail and then a few moments later, I got a call back and said they'd wait for me. It was a random chance but I got there within 3 minutes and retrieved my dry cleaning. Thank you again. All dry cleaners have become relatively expensive compared to years ago but it's the service that makes this one my local favorite. It's always nice that the owner recognizes me and remembers what I brought in. It's the personal touch that matters.

I have been utilizing Excellent Cleaners of Mira Mesa since 2017! I was first introduced to them…read morethrough my employer located in Sorrento Valley. Pre-pandemic of 2020 they used to do pick ups and drop offs for dry cleaning services at my employer's headquarters. Through the pick up service they gave me my own laundry bag that I still use to this day for any drop offs. I recall when I accidentally had a new 6 pack of Kleenex boxes in the dry cleaning bag in addition to the dirty clothes, and when they returned the clothes back to my workplace dry cleaned the pack of Kleenex boxes were also included safe and sound (lol). Even though my employer has transitioned to remote work I still choose to go to Excellent Cleaners for all my dry clean needs! Thankfully I'm still local as a resident within the UTC area and the small commute to their location is worth it for me. They have cleaned thick comforters, suits, tuxedos, small dresses, gowns, long dresses, blouses, and costumes for me for so many years! More recently I've had a couple of Selkie dresses and skirts cleaned by them as well. They always do a great job. I trust them with all I own! The owner Mel was particularly helpful when my bank/credit card mistakenly double charged me for my most recent visit to Excellent Cleaners. When I realized the banking transaction mistake a few days later via phone Mel was patient and helpful as he looked through their system to confirm that only one transaction was processed. A couple of weeks later my bank said they needed written communication to help them process the dispute of the duplicate charge; and after calling Excellent Cleaners once more for the same issue, Mel was quick to email me exactly what I needed. I am so grateful for Mel's integrity and customer service! I'll be back again soon!

Unfortunately, this business will not become my "go to" place for alterations or dry cleaning…read more There are NO prices posted anywhere. I needed 2 pairs of pants to be shortened. I called first before bringing in my pants & I was told that they could be ready for pick up the next day after 3pm. She quoted me $18 for one pair & $26 or $28 for the other pair that I wanted an original hem. She said payment is cash or credit card & no extra cost for paying by credit card. When I arrived, she had me put on my pants & she marked each pair with a safety pin. At pick up next day, my pants, were neatly pressed & hanging in cellophane. The owner was working & said "an even $60", $16 or ~36% more than what I was quoted! Owner said I was quoted the wrong price for my pants & that "alterations sets prices" & that she could do nothing about their prices. I expected her to honor the prices I was quoted as goodwill! She said she had my pants pressed at no extra charge to me though, which should have been complimentary in my opinion, at least that has been my experience with other places that do alterations. Or the owner could have called me to inform me that my quote was wrong & to inform me of alterations exorbitant charges, BEFORE starting the work. I would have then marched straight back over there & picked up my pants & taken them elsewhere to alter! I have already found other alteration experts nearby that are much more reasonably priced, some even offering hemming done while you wait at no additional charge!

I explained my line of work and what range of motion I needed. For 3 shirts and 3 pairs of pants to be taken in, the cost was $360. ABSURD. I will admit, the timeline was great. Ready for pick up in one week and that was close to the holidays. When I tried them on NOTHING FIT! I couldn't close the buttons around my bust, I couldn't move my arms, and my pants were tapered so narrow they didn't fit over my boot. I CAN NOT wear these at work anymore. Extremely unhappy with the alterations and the cost.
