The store does great work on your rings, if you need your rings sized bigger or smaller. I have been there to do both different types of sizing. You cannot even tell how it was sized larger & if they were sized smaller. Great work!!! They also sell beautiful jewelry at a reasonable price, especially if you compare their prices to other jewelry stores. I searched all over Newark and Wilmington to find a place where I felt comfortable enough to leave my grandmother's heirloom ring to have it sized. I was not going to leave my irreplaceable diamond ring with just anyone! While they stick to their prices, they also have never tried to up sell us over our budget. One a couple of occasions they told us getting a higher quality stone at a higher price would not be a good investment in the piece we were designing. I have a personal story about Chrysa and Continental Jewelers. I purchased my wedding ring (which is beautiful) from Diane at Continental. Diane is so kind and helpful!! She even sent us a wedding card! Right before my wedding, my engagement band broke, but I didn't have enough time to get it in and fixed before my wedding. Soon after my wedding, I brought it in to get fixed and get more gold added. I also wanted to make my wedding ring a bit bigger. I hated to be without both rings, but I knew Continental would make them perfect for me, as they have with my other jewelry they have fixed. I was told approximately two weeks for the repairs. During this time, my step-son suddenly passed away. It was a terrible accident that left us shocked and so sad. While planning his arrangements, I was near Continental and I called to see if my rings were ready. I happened to get Chrysa on the phone when I called. She checked and they weren't ready yet I burst out crying and went into the whole tragic story of what happened to my step-son and how I just wanted my rings for the funeral. Chrysa made sure my rings were finished that day. Not only that, she got in her car on a Friday night and drove my rings up to where I live in Pennsylvania. She stayed and talked to me and hugged me. It was like we were old friends, when, in fact, this was the first time I ever met her. I could not get over her kindness and compassion. She went above and beyond what any store owner would do. I purchased an engagement ring, 2 wedding bands, and a necklace from Continental Jewelers and was extremely satisfied with Di Ane's service, however I have found the other staff members to be less friendly or accommodating. Di Ane provided me with so much personal attention and helped me in picking out the perfect diamond. She even contacted the designer in California that made the ring that I was looking for and had them ship it to the store. I highly recommend Di Ane to anyone looking to purchase jewelry in a no-pressure environment. The only downside is that they are not willing to negotiate at all on price and despite the fact that I had spent a lot of money in their store, I was still charged to do something as simple as removing a link from my watch. One other thing... they engraved my wife's wedding band upside-down and then instead of admitting they messed up, one of the owners tried to place the blame on my wife by saying that she wears her ring backwards. read more

My fiance got my engagement ring from a place in NYC because that's where we live and it was too difficult for him to go to DE for it. Well, we learned our lesson because I ended up having 3 small stones come out before I had had it for 1 year :( I took the ring to Di Anne at Continental and the jeweler was able to build up the prongs and I have not had ANY problems since then! We both got our wedding bands with Di Anne and could not be happier! She is so professional and knowledgeable, and what I love is that she is eager to educate customers--I feel like people in this industry would rather keep people in the dark, but Di Anne wants you to make a decision after having ALL the information. The lady that was helping us (unfortunately didn't get her name) was very snooty and rude, especially after she realized we were on a budget. She eventually handed us off to one of her other co-workers there without saying a word to us. No goodbyes, nice working with you, nothing like that! We were also trying to sell some jewelry we already had and not only did they take extremely long to appraise our jewelry for us, but the offered us the lowest price for them that any other jewelry store had.
