Besides being experienced in the art of making amazing jewelry the way John works with people made the process very easy. The first thing he did was ask about me and my (now fiancée), to learn about our personalities, the things she liked and her style of dress. This played a big role in the way we approached the ring and the results turned out great. Not having purchased a lot of jewelry in the past, there was a lot I needed to know about styles, metals, diamonds, etc. John is very knowledgeable and explained the pros and cons of each decision very well. Talking with him was easier than researching online because he could answer the questions I didn't know to ask. Any research I did online later backed up everything he said which gave me a lot of confidence. For me the, the technical aspect of seeing how a custom ring was made was a thrill too. We were able to try lots of ideas very quickly in CAD and when we were ready he had a prototype made so we could see and handle it. The final design was 3D printed before being cast in into metal which was also really cool. Working with John was a pleasure. I went to John to design an engagement ring for my (now) Wife. He was a lot of fun to work with from the get go. He sat me down at his computer and we thought out all the ideas we had for a ring, and came up with a pretty unique design. I really felt like it had some of my ideas in it, while looking really beautiful and professionally designed. The quality of the ring really exceeded my expectation, and everyone who's seen it thinks I paid a great deal more than I did (which never hurts for points from the in-laws). John worked within my schedule, was responsive to new ideas and changes, and even picked up a second shipment of diamonds when I wanted to see more options. My wife and I made sure to come back when we needed wedding rings, and I'll definitely go back again when I need a really great birthday or Christmas gift. All in all, there really is nothing like giving a girl a ring that you helped design yourself, makes everything feel much more personal, and John makes sense that your ideas result in a fantastic looking ring. He even guessed my wife's ring size just by looking at her hands, and has already polished it more than once for free. I asked John to make a custom pair of earrings to match my wife's wedding band. Since I live a few hours a way, I sent him some photos of the ring and rough sketch of what I had in mind for the earrings. John sent back some renderings, with suggestions on how to make them stronger and better balanced, and got the final earrings a week later (before Christmas as promised). I had two concerns going into it: 1. The ring is sort of rustic in style, handmade with some intentional imperfection. I wanted the earrings to be the same, but I didn't see anything that really looked like what I was going for in the gallery. Nevertheless, John matched the style perfectly and suggested a finish that gave them an appropriate patina. 2. I had no idea where the price would come in - I wanted white gold, and 6 small diamonds. The price ended up being super fair for custom jewelry where you're dealing directly with the designer/artist. He easily could've charged me more. I'd work with John again. It seems like a small shop, but he runs it like a pro. Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions, and expect questions from him to get at exactly what you want. read more

John is an amazing artist and no pressure salesman. I found him four years ago when I had developed an engagement ring idea. I sent him so rough drawings I made and he replicated every detail I wanted in the perfect one of a kind ring. He didn't try to force high price metals or stones he gave me recommendations on which stones would better hold up to the placement I had chosen on the ring ( there are stones all the way around the ring and they are not just diamonds). I meet with him twice in his office and the day I picked up the ring he meet me 40 min away from his office to get it to me. Johns prices are also hard to beat, your woman will never have to worry about anyone else having the same piece and your personal touch in the design will always remind her of the place she holds in your heart. John worked with my (now) husband to make a gorgeous engagement ring using some very sentimental family stones. Then I got to work with him to design a custom wedding band that fits the unique shape of my ring. He worked with both of us to make pieces exactly like we wanted, and both include personal touches with our initials and wedding date cut out of the side of each ring. It's beautiful, high quality, and I can't even begin to count how many compliments constantly I get on them. I had some problems with one of the stones due to it's age, but John worked with us to get it fixed quickly, and at no cost to us. John is very talented and extremely creative. I was looking e to incorporate gems from my grandmothers wedding ring, some unique styling to the bands, and a creative energy in my designer. After our first meeting with John, we knew he was the man for the job. He was so easy to work with and brings a terrific quality to how he pursues work and ultimately executes it. I love the cross pendant John designed for me. While on a cruise vacation I was able to buy four beautiful emerald stones in Colombia in South America. He purchased another, larger stone for the center and created a wonderful setting. The basic design was his, but he asked for and respected my input at every step.
