When grabbing lunch in Montauk this is my go-to. They have a hot buffet with lots of options. Today I got yellow rice, beans, jerk pork and cabbage (as the salad). All so good! The pork was tender and spicy! This lunch plate, a grilled cheese for my nephew and bottle of water cost $22. I didn't see a sign regarding a credit card fee but my guess is that they might have one. In trying to find a little something to bring back to join with other's this was one place that was still open after alternate options seemed to have just closed. They were getting ready to call it a night too but when inside the person behind the counter went out of their way to still be accommodating give access to anything they still had inventory of even if it was covered up. It is a small thing, a simple thing, something for a business like this that makes sense to keep things fresh, but unfortunately something not seen much anymore. Increasingly in Montauk it is getting harder and harder to find any sort of deal when it comes to.. well anything. I guess all the locals are millionaires now! Good for them, perhaps not so much for tourists. This is a great little market with Latin style. As our usual, we grab a quick breakfast before sitting in traffic on Montauk highway trying to make our way home after the weekend. The service here was very friendly, very reasonable and very tasty. The decor was a blue and white beachy feel - I like the white subway tiles behind the counter. All our breakfast sandwiches were fresh and well made - crisp bacon, generous eggs and cheese with varied choices of bagel, roll, croissant, etc. We received our sandwiches in 5 mins after ordering - add quick and efficient to the list. They had some good looking hot food in the steam trays - Chicharrón, Empanada, Tostones, sausages, yuca, papas rellenas, and more (see pic). All looking very good - too bad we were here for breakfast. Don't want to deal with long lines and waits at other places? Come here and you won't regret it. read more

While everyone is waiting on long ass lines at the extremely overpriced Goldbergs, Joni's, & the Montauk Bake Shoppe in the hot sun I'm drinking my coffee and enjoying my egg sandwich watching you fools starve and wait 45 minutes for a bagel or egg sandwich ! Dare I say this is one of Montauk's best kept secrets? The people that work here are very friendly and there is never a long wait & the prices are extremely reasonable! Great for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Still didn't try any of the authentic Colombian food from the steam tray(I'm kicking myself) but next time we certainly will. read more

This small deli was a pleasant surprise during our stay in montauk. We liked it so well, we ate here for breakfast two mornings in a row. I had the same thing both days: bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll. There were at least two eggs and a pile of bacon on each sandwich. They make the sandwiches fresh when ordered, but it only takes a few minutes. They also have a variety of Latino foods to choose from. My wife sampled those each day and commented on the freshness and taste of those items as well. The prices are very fair, especially compared to the overall price inflation found throughout montauk. Service was friendly and quick. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast and would expect their lunch foods to be just as good, though I didn't try them myself. read more

We had empanadas here to fill up a little after spending $48 dollars on 2 lobster rolls next door. Don't bother with the place next door. The service at the Continental was great. The owner showed and explained to us what he had in the steam trays. Everything looked good and smelled great. We came back later in the week for breakfast and we had fried sweet plantains with white cheese and arepas. Very good and inexpensive. Next time we might try the chicken. read more

Worst fucking customer service ever. I was in a group of eight and only two orders were right. They completely forgot about one of our orders and then somehow managed to combine another two of our orders. Not only were all of them messed up, it took them nearly a half hour to finally get our orders finished. Not to mention, the place wasn't even that crowded. I came across this place after waiting on line for 30+ minutes at Goldberg's bagels on a Saturday morning. I needed some milk so decided to pop in and glad I did. I was the only customer in the store. Ordered a bacon/egg/cheese on a roll with an ice coffee and the sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Generous helping of bacon n eggs and cheese. Nice and thick - just a great breakfast sandwich. I saw in the display case there were lots of fresh bagels. I told the guy behind the counter that if I would have known he had bagels it would have saved me 30+ minutes at Goldberg's. He told me he gets his bagels FROM Goldberg's so I'm standing there saying to myself 'What am I missing here"? Goldberg's has very long lines and Continental Market has zero lines with the same bagels. No brainer! Returned during the week with my wife, daughter and niece and had a nice breakfast out in front. Wife got the empanadas and some other Colombian food from the steam tray and it was fantastic. Daughter and niece got omelettes that were great. I reckon this place is popular with the locals as I saw a few builders in there with their crews as well as town workers. Great food and reasonably priced considering the price gouging in MTK.
