My car was in desperate need of a new transmission. Faced with the decision of either getting it fixed or just getting a new car, I opted to get the transmission fixed. After calling around to a couple of places and being told a number of times I could only get the work done at a dealer, Continental Transmission was able to quote me with a slightly lower rate for my car. Having been recommended to this shop by some friends I decided to go with them! To replace it they needed to tow my car to the dealer only to reprogram it, but overall they were able to get the job done at a lower rate than it would have been had I tried to take my car anywhere else. To that I am very grateful! It took about a week or so for them to get all of the work done. They called me when the work was finished and now my car is running the way it should be! The staff here was very friendly, they were straightforward with informing me of all of the things they had done to my car. No gender bias at all! I went to Continental Transmission and requested one of the mechanics to come out to inspect my Toyota 4- Runner because it was not running properly. One of the mechanics from the shop came out immediately to analyze my vehicle and fixed the problem at the shop. He fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. I was very please with the quality of service and the great value I received from this business. I would highly recommend this business to people in the community. I was traveling thro New York visiting friends, and had driven up from Arkansas, with my family in my 2011 Chevy Avalanche. On our way back my transmission went out and I was towed to Continental Transmission. After talking to Scott about what I thought the problem might be he said he would run some tests and give me a call. He promptly called me after the tests and informed me of the problem, which was not the news I wanted by far, but my transmission was gone due to my torque converter going out. He assured me it's a common problem and he could have it fixed by lunch the next day. They finished the work in amazing time and even plugged a hole in my Tire I had gotten after pulling off the road when my transmission went out. Thanks to Scott and the team at Continental Transmission I was able to drive my truck home to Arkansas and she felt better then ever! I drive a Fiat 500 with 100,000 miles. I brought my car here after Delta Sonic saw a transmission leak. I dropped my car off and I got a call back in a few hours. The service manager, Scott, explained that there was a minor leak, but that it would mean taking the transmission apart to fix it. He said that I could just keep driving the car until it becomes a more serious problem (since either way it was going to be an expensive fix). And, I wasn't charged for the diagnostic! I wanted to take the time to write a review as I was very satisfied and happy with my service here. Scott was awesome! He did exactly what he said .. they picked up the car when promised, the next morning so I wasn't waiting all day for them to come. After getting the car he Called me right away explained what was wrong and broke down the cost for me. After agreeing to have it done, it was fixed and ready to go when promised. Excellent service! Amazing staff. I was visiting Buffalo and was unsure what to make of the transmission indicator symbol that lite up on my dashboard. They took my car, assessed it and provided me with options to pursue upon my arrival home. I really appreciated them taking the time to help me determine if my car was still safe to drive home. Scott and his team were my angels today. My mini van lurched after it was stopped at a traffic light and then couldn't move forward. I limped my car along to the first drive i could safely park it in... and miracle of miracles it was Continental Transmission that I could park in. After my car came to rest in a parking spot and proceeded to empty all my transmission fluid onto the parking lot I knew it was a sign that I ended up in the right place. Scott helped fix my van and it was ready to go within an hour. The professionalism of this crew is outstanding, the shop building is tiptop and the waiting room is a treat to be in with all its memorablia. Great price, very knowledgeable and fast. Most car shops annoy me and they didn't. They saved me a ton of money rather than going to the dealer for maintenance work. More shops need to be like this. They were also very helpful on the phone and did try to rush me off the phone or sell anything I didn't want. I also had to write a review because the other one with one star is a joke. A transmission service is basic work and it sounds like that car was already on its way out. It's also very skeptical when that is the only review. This place does not deserve one star. read more

Yesterday, I had a moment of appreciation for Continental Transmission. My family drive our cars until the wheels fall off. Rather than trade or sell we repair. We put a transmission about 5 years ago in my wife's car and about 4 years ago in my daughters car. The Glenn family were gracious, the work was perfect and the price was fair. Continental Transmission was very accommodating. They offered 0 interest financing and allowed me to leave the vehicle there at no additional charge until I was able to pick it up. They had a transmission service sale displayed on their sign post a few years back and I went to have mine done since I was having slight shifting problems. After about 2 hours they said I was done and I was on my way. Nothing changed it got progressively worse. One cold night the car died on the thruway and it was the transmission. The repair shop said all of my transmission lines were rotted and leaky, it was destroyed. I told them about the "service" I got at continental and they laughed and said there was NO way they even looked at my transmission, they even showed me the the bolts were rusted on and could not be moved. Granted they repaired my Sebring without a problem. I dropped off my '99 Ram since it didn't have 1st gear. It had 144k on it but was in decent shape otherwise. I couldn't justify the $1300 est. for a complete overhaul so they offered a guaranteed repair for $500 but no warranty of how long it would last. I agreed, picked it up a week later and although 1st gear was back it would SLAM EVERY time it shifted and buck like crazy in overdrive. I took it back twice then was told I would have to spend the balance of the $1300 to fix! I later learned instead of using the recommended fluid they used a cheaper brand specifically cautioned against by Dodge and other master tech's. THEY TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT HEAR, RIP YOU OFF, THEN DON'T HONOR THEIR GUARANTEE OR PROMISES. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!!!!!!! read more

I have a 2007 ford explorer that the transmission failed. I took it over to continental for a quote. I sat in the parking lot with the windows down and listen to the manager talk to another customer. I was very happy at the interaction. At this point I went in and had them replace my transmission. It took a couple days, but it was done right. I drove it home and the next day my truck would not start. I called them and the technician said my battery terminals were really bad. I looked under the hood and he was right. they were corroded real bad. He told me to get the truck back to them and they would fix it. I managed to get it started and brought it back to them. They replaced both terminals and then would not charge me for it. It is really hard to find a shop that does this stuff anymore. Too many dealers charge just to look at the vehicle let alone replace anything. I will be coming back to them in the future. Thank you for caring. read more
