A local standard, Contos Pizza is more than just a neighborhood pizza joint! They have a full menu including a rich, tasty meat sauce on their Eggplant Parmesan. The pizza, Contos Special, was just perfect! Thick pieces covered with tasty pepperoni , sausage, mushrooms and cheese. The restaurant was bustling and the servers got orders out steaming hot to our table. My husband has diabetes and the server, Cali, worked with him to get more eggplant and less spaghetti in his delicious dish. I have lived in Lake Stevens for 20 years and patronized Contos on and off mostly for takeout pizzas. This visit my husband and I decided to dine in because it was too hot to cook at home and we were both hungry when we arrived on a Tuesday around 4:45pm and we were able to get a seat quickly. Everybody was very pleasant and helpful. We were originally seated in one of those tiny little two top booths and we asked for something with more tabletop surface and they happily moved us to a bigger booth. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and the temperature inside was nice and cool. As I looked around, I noticed how clean everything was, no tired looking decor, it felt like an upscale Italian restaurant. I ordered the chef's salad, and my husband ordered the special of the night, which was a ziti pasta with spicy Italian sausage in the sauce. Both dishes were enormous. The salad could have easily fed four people and same with the pasta. It was very fresh & very good quality very flavorful, really impressive. I was only able to eat about a quarter of the salad and the same for the pasta. We brought our leftovers home and had more salad than two people could eat the following night for dinner from the leftovers. We only dressed the amount we ate at the restaurant so what we took home was undressed. Their blue cheese dressing is to die for so I bought an 8 ounce container to take home. I love Sizzler blue cheese dressing, but there are no sizzlers in Washington anymore so I was so thrilled to discover such a fantastic blue cheese dressing! They sell it I think in 8 ounces and 16 ounces and they make it in-house every day. The prices are moderate. It is not an inexpensive place to eat, but no place is anymore, when you take into account how many meals you get out of a single dish and then divide it by the price it's really very reasonable. I look forward to returning and trying something different next time but was impressed enough to take the time to write this. We ordered a medium pizza and a meat sauce spaghetti to share and we barely ate half of it (tonight's dinner! ;) I liked the pizza, the sauce has a good flavor and not too salty, nice and cheesy, the crust is solid. The semi deep dish crust less style was a pleasant surprise. The bolognese spaghetti is good too. Ordered a milk for the kiddos, $4 felt a bit steep tho. I have been eating at Contos since I was a teenager (am now 42) and it is probably the best restaurant in the area (and absolutely the best for pasta). The servers are friendly, the restaurant itself is pretty and clean, and it's reasonably priced for how much food you get. My husband and I share a plate and always still have leftovers. Try the lemon cream and strawberry shortcake cakes. Holy shirtballs. That's it - now I'm getting Contos for dinner!!! read more

We're new to the Lake Stevens neighborhood and everyone recommended contos. We've now been here twice, both for take out. This is now our favorite pizza joint in (dare I say it) all of Washington. Their quality of food is superb, crust pillowy, they're not stingy with cheese, and their customer service is efficient and friendly. Ps. Contos oh Contos, it's amazing yet horrifying. last time I went there I ordered the pizza that they had on the menu, it said that you could order a mini pizza so that's what I did because I was a little full. when my food finally was done I took it to my car and started to get ready to munch on it. And NO JOKE the FIRST BITE I TAKE, as soon as my teeth lay down on the steamy pizza, and as soon as I do it's starts to rain and thunder hard. And this isn't the first time this has happened. Delicious pizza and large portions. I've dined in once before and my Alfredo lacked taste but the portion was huge. We recently ordered take out and ordered a pizza and garlic cheese bread. We hoped that there was an option for thin crust but unfortunately there is not. We got a pizza anyway just to try it and boy was it amazing. I loved the cheese to meat portion on the amount of pizza dough. The crust was crispy and the pie is reminiscent of a thinner deep dish. Excellent choice for us. The most delicious food in Snohomish County and areas around it! Been going here for ever. My kids grew up on Contos and had many friends that worked there during high school. The Pizza, is the best. I love the Fettuccine specials they had on Fridays of crab n shrimp! OMGosh to die for! The salmon fettuccine is the ultimate. Actually you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! This place has the best grinders and pizza I've ever had. Everything is a tasty treat. The deep fried zucchini slices with taziki sauce are delicious. Have not dined in we get takeout. This place has our favorite pizza in the area! We get the Greco and substitute the olives for jalapeños. It's so good!! Salads are so basic and not good. They serve them on a small plate which makes it hard to mix. Salads should be served in a bowl to prevent from making a mess. Fettuccine Alfredo was great! Pretty good! Way better than Olive Garden actually. Also feels more like an Italian restaurant. I've eaten here a dozen times but always choose a pasta dish. All have been great.
