Joe the inspector did a great job. Very thorough inspection of exterior, up to the eves and under the house through the crawl space. He explained onsite, the findings of his inspection and within a few days provided me an emailed PDF of the report, that included estimates for them to do repair work if I chose to have them do it. I had a few questions after reading the report, left a message at the office for Joe, and he called me back the next day. In talking with Joe about details of the inspection, he offered to share his photos with me and emailed them too me. I had Contra Costa Termite provide a second opinion inspection on our house in Lafayette. Sooo glad I did! Contra Costa termite is honest, local, and very competitively priced. Most importantly, I trusted them immediately. They looked at the previous report and didn't necessarily say it was all wrong, but instead just took a realistic approach and suggested better ways to address the termite issues that ended up saving money over the long term. I was very impressed. So, I put my money where my mouth was and had Contra Costa Termite do both full blown treatment and they completely remodeled 2 of our bathrooms (section 1 problems). The bathrooms came out gorgeous! Incredible work with great attention to detail. The guy who was doing the work (Stephen I believe), my wife and I would trust leaving our kids with. When I moved to a new house the floor installers called to say "Lady, you got a real problem" because they found active termites throughout the subfloor of the large foyer. I contacted this company and they were fantastic! Jen in the front office was friendly, efficient, and went out of her way to get me the needed service. Joe the inspector came out for free to see the subfloor in order to price the job right--and the price *was* right. Before Larry came out for the chemical treatment, I asked Jen whether it would harm the worms under an exterior deck that also had termites, because I was setting up my compost/worm bin near it. She took the time to contact state agencies and read the entire 114 page chemical treatment disclosure! It was so sweet of her to worry about my worms! (Turns out that 6 ft distance seems to be enough for the worms.) Larry was efficient and nice. Then they arranged for the tenting and called beforehand to make sure everything was set on my end and answer questions.
