Avoid this company at all costs! If you see their company's name in your disclosures report when buying a house don't trust them or the report! They totally missed obvious termites at a house we just bought. What a sad experience to buy a home and find out you have active termites. Termites were in the living room windowsill with poo coming out of the holes. You can trust the other reviews that are saying the same thing about missing termites signs during inspections, and I'm adding one more review to show you. If you are selling a house, maybe their poor inspection skills is what you're looking for. The receptionist was nice though and willing to work with me, eventhough I was unhappy. We had an inspection done by this company when we were selling our house. We made the huge mistake of hiring them to do the work. They charged premium rates and brought in contractors who did clearly shoddy work that had to be ripped out and redone correctly. The people in the office were friendly, but the inspectors were difficult and rude. The reports they provided seemed designed to be unclear and we had to ask for multiple corrections to clarify what work was completed an what needed to be done. I called her in March and schedule for fumigation in May because my house is still under remodeling. She has all the paperwork ready and has the team come to do the work. I thought I have to pay when we sign the contract which other termite company request to pay before they come. But we pay after the work done. Paid this company $550 to do test holes for termites on a house we were looking at. They drilled these tiny holes, way up into the walls, and found nothing. We bought the house, quickly discovered the house had termites--near the ground, which is where termites actually live. Both of the inspectors who came in and looked at the place were like "Yeah, test holes are a total waste of your money." read more

The irony of one review discussing the merits of my tower of power and seeing way to much of Bo-J and Euge's buttocks and this one which demonstrates that I am in fact an adult with adult like responsibilities. A few years back, East Valley did some work on the house we just bought, but upon inspection during the sale, we found beetles. They came back to take care of business and performed some repairs and spot treatment at cost to us. The alternative would have been to fumigate the entire house which would mean ramen and dollar hotdogs at Bay Meadows for the rest of the year. Still, do you penalize them because if they'd done a good job in the first place they wouldn't have had to come back? Apparently though, beetles, termites and brushfires (oh my!) is a fact of life up in the hills. Still my contact with them was professional and efficient. They delivered everything as promised, were prompt with returning my calls and following up on their work. I look forward to being beetle free for the next 2 years. read more

Great response from start finish. Had a pest inspection performed and the inspection was very thorough. The inspection was completed by Chris. He inspected everything, interior and exterior, under the house, inside sink cabinets, tested fixtures/pipes for leaks, and checked to ensure toilets properly secured. Found the guest bath toilet was a little loose on one side, but no signs of leaking, which I was able to resolve on the spot. Will definitely call them any time I need an inspection done. read more

Me and my wife recently purchased a home that East Valley Termite Company had done a home inspection on (the inspection was for the original home owner, not for us). We had a different inspector come out and they quoted us 5X for the same repairs. Once we needed the repairs done we called East Valley Termite, they communicated effectively and showed up on time and did all the repairs. The thing that really stood out to me was that our quote included some decorative work that wasn't necessary, and the contractor that came out to do the work talked to us about ways to lower the cost of the repairs. They came back with a change order for a lower price. Weird, but wonderful. 10/10 will use again. Work was perfect. read more

Here is some feedback for East Valley termite company regarding my experience with my termite inspection. By the way this inspection report says the inspector Todd inspected my property, this is not accurate. Mr. Kelly was the inspector. I have his business card. As I discussed on the phone with east valley termite company, they usually conduct an inspection which last 3 to 4 hours. I set aside this time for the inspection and I hired other inspectors to arrive during that time frame for other inspections. I was there from 2 pm until 5:30 pm. Mr. Kelly arrived on time, at 2 pm.; however, his inspection was not to my satisfaction, as I was expecting a thorough inspection (duration at least 2-3 hours minimum per our conversation it was to be 3-4 hours) and I set aside that block of time in my busy schedule to be present.  I have reviewed the report and feel that the inspection could have been more thorough.I do appreciate them finding an inspector with such short notice, but I wish that this would not have been super rushed and lacking, as I feel that it was and I can't say I'd recommend or use this company in future. The rate was more than home guard but I felt it would be worth the extra cost due to the supposed thoroughness of the inspection. I was left disappointed. By the way Mr. Kelly views on Global Warming are not relevant to my termite inspection. Overall this was just a negative experience. read more

We had East Valley do our inspection upon purchasing out home. At the initial inspection, 3 years ago, the inspector missed obvious dry rot and termite damage along the outside of the house. He did not charge us for the inspection (it was less than a year later). But he did mention he was "surprised he had missed THAT." And apologized profusely. No biggie, things get missed, I trusted my real estate person and she assured me they were good. Now three years later we have termite poo popping out of the floorboards, in an area where we'd replaced the hardwood flooring. These are dry wall termites (I understand they are slow moving). We've been advised to tent. I was assured that the inspection fee would be waived if we chose fumigate with them, and not given a timeline for when I needed to book, although I'd talked with Lee at length about concerns, etc and indicated it would likely be this fall. No concerns were raised by Lee at that time. No need to pay since we were intending to fumigate with them. Today I had an extremely unpleasant, bordering on unprofessional interaction with their office about the "unpaid" amount (which I had not paid, based specifically on my conversations and emails with the office. We were intending to go with them for fumigation. I have an email saying the fee was waived.) After today's interaction, and considering the previous missed damage, I will be paying for the inspection, but no need to interact with the company further. My sanity and my HOME deserve better. Be wary of what info you get from this company and follow up in writing. They like to to toot the "small family business" horn, but there's not much in the way of service in my experience. read more

East valley termite was recommended by our realtor as we get ready to sell our house. They provided the inspection and recommendations going forward. The house is wood so there was extensive rot from the elements, and thousands of dollars and work was required. Lee the office manager explained every item that was a section 1 & 2 and provided an inspection report. and an estimate for all repairs needed. We asked for referrals and Dan was referred to us to take care of all of the outside wood work. Dan and his father did a great job, quiet and cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous, the work took about 2 weeks. Will from East Valley termite took care of our under house section 1 items that we needed and he was great too with details of everything that he did. Everyone that has been referred to us and also Lee explained everything in detail and met all of their commitments. Lee followed up with every project and was especially a pleasure to work with. Not sure what happened with the other reviews but we highly recommend East Valley termite. read more

Sloppy, sloppy work, screws left in the dirt in my front yard, and a big bolt left out of my second floor railing, also found sitting in the dirt. Thanks for nothing. Their inspection report is really difficult to completely read through as a layperson. Their descriptions and report seem purposefully vague so that you have to use them to repair the work. Maybe that is customary? The person who came out was okay, but I can't comment on their actual work. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! I don't even want to leave one star, by the way. Just purchased a home in San Leandro from owners that utilized this company for their termite inspection. In the pest report it listed cellulose debris under the home, so I called them to have it removed for $200 after I bought the house. A super nice guy named Will came over, spent about an hour under the home and emerged with a big black trash bag filled with debris. Fast forward a couple of weeks later and I have a seismic retrofitting professional come out and commented that there was quite a bit of debris under the home. So, I call this EV Termite Co and am informed that they ONLY remove cellulose debris and nothing else! Now I will take the "hit" for not knowing what cellulose debris meant, but wouldn't it be nice to have been informed by the technician that I still had stuff under the house? I mean, does anyone know anything about CUSTOMER SERVICE? So, long story short, a woman named Lee called me to discuss this project. She first stated that she could not even find a work order for the "clean up" performed at my home. Well, I told her that I had the "cleared" check from WF as proof. (Frightening that she had no record of Will coming out.) We then proceeded to discuss my utter confusion about what exactly was being removed. As I stated earlier, I'll take the "hit" for this stupidity, but all I wanted her to do was suggest to her technicians that perhaps they should inform customers of things they did not remove. I mean, how hard is that? There is actually a bag of trash under the home that is still there. Wouldn't it have be nice to have known this? She informed me that with my request, I was asking her to change their protocol!! WHAT??? I said!!! Changing your protocol? How about providing QUALITY customer service? Disgraceful! I ended up telling her that I was "done" talking to her and abruptly disconnected. What's so sad is that this is a "mom and pop" local business which I LOVE to support, but sadly will NEVER use their services again! Oh and one more thing, when cellulose debris is removed, don't be fooled, according to them it's only that which can be RAKED! So be sure to verify this with any pest company. Take your money elsewhere people and be sure to ask the right questions. read more

I just sold my home and the buyers used this company (recommended by their realtor) for the termite inspection. The inspection went very well. Then I got the report that I had $1,800 dollars of repairs. I did have the choice of using some other company to do the repairs but then I would have to pay these guys to come back and re-inspect and sign off on the work. The work was completed in a total of 3 hours by one worker. I think it should be illegal for the inspection company be the company that does the repairs... I feel I was taken advantage of and had no options... I am contacting my congressman to talk about why this practice is allowed.(the inspection company doing the repairs).. read more

We called the office, POSITIVE we had termites. We were given a service appt. for the following morning- easy! The following morning, 15 minutes early even, Rich arrived from East Valley Termite. He was very friendly and even when warned that we have 2 three year olds and a giant german sheppard, he cruised on it to the house happy as a lark. I showed him where the termites were and with a flash of his light, he smiled and informed me that I had ants, not termites. He helped us to understand that termites have 2 body parts, not three and really helped us to feel assured that we did not have termites. Additionally, he didn't even charge us for his visit. WOW. JUST WOW! Who knew that neighborly, speedy, incredible service like this still exsisted? Not that I WANT termites, but with service like that, I am sure glad to know I have an awesome resource! read more

We bought our house just a year ago and found out we had termites. There was a termite report done by East Valley Termite that claimed the house was clean. That was not the case. We had EV and another provider inspect the house and it was night and day. East Valley did a very light walk through of the house. The company did a much more thorough inspection and even crawled under the house and went up in the attic. When it came down to getting bids in for the work, East Valley only provided one recommendation and bid high. The other company gave us three options which included a preventative treatment and were all lower priced. read more

Had a very bitter experience as a buyer more than 10 years back. The sellers recommended that we use East Valley's termite report. We unknowingly accepted that as we thought that they were a licensed shop. We subsequently uncovered 13 items that East Valley failed to record in their termite report and had to get the California State to intervene to get our issues resolved. I would be very careful if you're buying a home and using them for inspections. read more

Just had a fun conversation with an employee from East Valley. My husband and I just bought a home and my realtor had someone from East Valley come out to look at the house before we finalized the sale. My husband was present at the time, but the guy totally ignored him the whole time he was there. I got a "report" two weeks later with an invoice for $225. Not only was the report hard to understand, but Imagine my surprise when the employee NEVER mentioned to my husband that he would be charging for any kind of inspection. We never would have agreed to that amount and would have told the guy to leave. As I said in my most recent email to the company, way to screw over a young family with one income! I ended up getting the house tented by Driskell Fumigation for a whopping $500 LESS! Imagine that. Do yourself a favor and skip right over this company. Go to Driskell for fumigation. read more

But I wasn't unable to be there at time or service. So it was two weeks before I paid. They sent me a refund check in the mail for $50.00 telling me they still chose to honor the pay at service price. read more

I've dealt with this company on a personal and professional level. When we purchased our home East Valley Termite conducted our termite inspection. They noted no termite activity. Within a year of living at our home we had termites coming out of the drywall of one of the bedrooms. I had another termite company come out and they said the subterranean termite infestation had been present for years for it to get to the point it was. I represented a Buyer on purchasing a home that East Valley Termite conducted an inspection on. The report showed no Section 1 items to repair. However, the bathroom floor was soft and it was obvious we needed another inspection to be performed. That termite company found significant Section 1 damage. An inspector from East Valley called me and told me they would do the repairs at no charge as a courtesy to the other agent, NOT ME. I told them don't bother at that point I had no confidence in their work. I wouldn't recommend using this company. read more

I was really disappointed today to learn this company wanted to charge me $100 to come back and re-inspect minor dry rot repair for a termite inspection that I already paid $300 for. There were 3 minor places on the report that would've taken about 5 minutes to check. I just tried to get a bid for whole-house fumigation for termites. Becky would not give me a bid without first seeing the other contractor's price, saying that's the only way to give a competitive bid. I thought a competitive bid was giving your best price for your honest assessment of the work and let the customer choose. No thanks. read more

We are first time home buyers and the office manager was very patient with my questions. The guy who did our repair work was a true professional, likable and very knowledgeable. No matter which pest control company is chosen by a buyer, seller, or homeowner the format of the report is about the same. These reports are not difficult to read and understand. Any Realtor, or pest control company employee, could assist a person if there were questions. East Valley shows up for appointments on time, their reports are sent out promptly, and if there is a problem the company takes care of it. Most of the "Old Time Realtors" in our area have used East Valley for years. If they were not one of the best we wouldn't stay with them year after year. read more

They will never see another dime of my money. Story is too long to get into, but here is the gist. Todd (Mr. Congeniality) comes over to give initial inspection. Todd finds section 1 damage. I walk the entire inspection with Todd so I know what to fix. I fix ALL section 1 damage Todd and I discussed at length while on the walk through. My house gets put up for sale. My house sells. We are in escrow. We get on the road to move almost 3000 miles away. While we are on the road, Todd comes to my house to re-inspect. (Keep in mind that from the initial inspection until now, ONLY a month has elapsed.) Todd magically finds more section 1 damage he did not list on the initial inspection we paid for in the first place. THINGS DO NOT ROT IN A MONTHS TIME FOLKS. Todd wants to make another $450. Our hands are tied because Todd is incompetent and needs to inspect the same house multiple times because his inspections are not thorough in the first place. As I stated above, we are on the road... We pay Todd $450 to fix the damage. Point of the story... Todd does not do a thorough inspection. Todd almost caused a delay in our payment of funds because he is incompetent and finds new stuff wrong every time he comes out. Todd cost East Valley Tertmite a possible good review. Until Todd leaves, they will be never get my business or referals. read more
