We were in Toccoa last week around lunch time with no lunch plans. Megan checked out Yelp to see if there was anywhere new we have not been. While not new, we had not been to CC so decided to try it. CC is in a older brick building that you might miss if you are not careful as the sign is small and could be blocked by a parked car. So keep an eye out as you are driving by. Inside is basic with a counter where you order and half a dozen tables. When we arrived most of the tables were full but about half the folks were waiting for to go orders. Yelp said to get the brisket and the onion rings, which I did. The brisket was smokey and very tender and not fatty. I guess some people like the fat, I prefer the meat, and this was pretty good. The onion rings were lightly breaded and looked home made. They were crispy and tasty, definitely give them a try. The fried pickles were chips in a different breading. They were OK but probably would not get them again. Megan had the pork platter and OMG, I am not kidding, this was perfect pork. I cannot recall having smoked pork this good in a restaurant. It was meaty with the pink smoke ring, the right amount of fat, and just enough crunchy and spicy bark. This was so good! Megan also had the beans which looked homemade. She thought too much mustard flavor for her, and yes it has mustard but I would get those again. They are great. Toccoa is an odd dining culture, with an abundance of chains and not a whole lot of local places. Please please please give CC a try, I want these folks to succeed so that when I am in Toccoa next time I can get a pork sandwich! read more

If you're in Toccoa I'd definitely make the stop here. We came up to look at a near by museum and needed to find food for after. Yelp recommended this and I can definitely see why. We got the sampler platter, chicken tenders, and Mac and Cheese. Food was full of flavor and not dry like most BBQ places are nowadays. The food was excellent and the service was great. My table tried the bbq sampler with brunswick stew and beans, along with the hamburger steak & onions with cole slaw and fries. While I didn't absolutely love the stew (personal preference, nothing to do with the quality), everything else on my plate was amazing. The bbq chicken is phenomenal, with a preparation that deserves its own feature on one of the food network shows. The coleslaw is FRESHLY MADE TO ORDER, and hand cut. It's fantastic! The brisket is winner-winner beef for dinner, but the pulled pork was absolutely stand-out. This is a can't miss bbq spot--the hamburger steak was also phenomenal, as were the fries. Today was our first time visiting Controlled Chaos and it was absolutely Amazing!! Both my husband and I had the pork bbq sandwich with fried and a side of fried pickles and a sweet tea. I checked Siri for restaurants several times as I drove toward the train station and this one kept coming up. Had no idea what kind of food it served so I called (BBQ!). *Excellent* pulled pork sandwich and Jacob is a delight. Place was clean and SMELLED clean to boot. Will be back! read more

I would say there are around 6 good sit done restaurants in Toccoa that is not fast food. this is one of the top 3. service is great, best brisket around this area. and the onion rings WOW. limited amounts as they are growing so go for lunch or go early for supper. when it's gone it's gone. read more

From the moment that I contacted Jacob about ordering a smoked pork butt and smoked turkey breast for our Christmas dinner, I knew I was dealing with someone that had a passion for food. He is commited to bringing the best food at the best prices to his customers. My family and I have eaten at the restaurant and have also ordered takeout numerous times and every time we are not disappointed. I HIGHLY recommend the smoked wings, even without a sauce (my choice) those wings were just wonderful. The burgers are great, so juicy and delicious. The bbq, oh yeah, the bbq is some of the best I have ever had, and I like me some bbq!! Definitely try the onion rings and the fries... it's all fresh cut and made to order. We didn't have the best experience. We visited around the 2nd week they were fully open. Upon arriving there was two people ahead of us that had ordered to go and then we ordered. They were out of several items but we still wanted to give it a try. My husband ordered the loaded fries and I ordered a bbq sandwich with stew and some mac n cheese for my little boy. It took over an hour for our meal to come out. By the time it came out, all of it was cold. My stew tasted like the corn was cooked fully and still a little chewy. My husband's loaded fries were straight fat caps. There was maybe one piece of meat on them that didn't have fat on it. Needless to say we left our meal on the table. A little bummed to have spent $37 on something neither of us enjoyed. Not to mention the lady at the counter taking our order basically forcing tips as the register was on the counter behind the front counter. Plus she was super rude and pushy, as well as just lounging against the counter while taking orders. read more
