Pretty awesome place. Great for families and large groups. Plenty of space for kid to roam in safety while the adults can have a brew and a good time too. Food was pretty dang awesome and the service was top notch. I have this one marked!

Friend and I were going to Black Rock Mountain to go camping for the weekend and this place was recommended. I am now recommending it to everyone that drives up here. You order at the bar and started off with a local IPA and the Pulled Pork sandwich. She asked me which sauce and I asked for all three on the side. My recommendation is mixing the sweet and spicy together! The people behind the counter were super nice, the food was delicious, and the location opens up to head down to the beach area on the river. The place has a rock wall for the kids and they were having live music that night. Perfect place to go before or after your N.Ga adventures!

The food is amazing the service is great so kind people everyone!! This is the orchard sandwich with street corn..

Excellent food, quick service. A great stop with kids or a pup. Servings are generous. We enjoyed the open air seating. Try the orchard chicken salad sandwich.

Great fun atmosphere for warm or cool weather. Very close & convenient to the Gorge. The food was great. We had the club sandwich, wings, kale Caesar & budah bowl. All super. Only feedback is too many croutons in salad. The potato salad is a lot like dirty rice with some warm spices-not traditional.

In a word Outstanding Food! We had the Pumpkin Soup along with Seasonal Salad and Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Potato Salad. You could tell a lot of effort with excellent ingredients went into everything they served. Great atmosphere and plenty of running room for the kids in the backyard! You have got to give this place a try!

It seems to be a local favorite because it was pretty busy when we arrived. We got the last spot in the parking lot. The lot is not paved (dirt and mulch); however, if you have a Tesla they have two charging units in the lot. Staff are very friendly and inviting and they do a good job of cleaning and maintaining the coffee station and customer seating areas. Prices are competitive to other businesses in the area, although the coffee is a bit expensive in my opinion, but it is delicious. I ordered an Americano and it was one probably the best one we had on our whole trip. Nancy and I both ordered coffee's, the Americano was $5.75 and her Coffee of the Day was $4.00. For our breakfast we decided on the Bacon Quiche $7.50 and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit $6.95 to share. The Quiche was on point; it was much better than the Biscuit Sandwich. Don't get me wrong both items tasted yummy it's just the biscuit was quite dry. Nancy had to ask for Jelly to spruce it up. They didn't charge extra for the jelly and after adding the jelly the sandwich was actually the bomb; something for the menu development team to ponder. There is not a lot of seating here but it seems most customers are in and out quick except for a few that are working on laptops and whatnot. All-in-all, a great spot for a quick breakfast or brunch and fresh ground and deliciously brewed coffee. I recommend them if you are in the area.

The Clayton Café in Clayton GA is an unexpected jewel in North Georgia…read more Located on Main Street, the Café has been completely renovated in the last year, the decor is lovely. The wait staff is excellent. They are open seven days a week for breakfast and for lunch until 3:30p. My bride had the western omelet and pronounced it excellent (a pretty rare rating from her). I'm a big fan of chicken livers and these are good - and more than one person can eat in a single sitting. The onion rings are "real" onion rings and the batter delicious. The place holds about 20-30 patrons so get there early. Net: Food very good, service excellent, ambiance very good, prices reasonable. Here's a link to their website: https://claytoncafe.com/

I noticed the window sign said "Angie's Clayton Cafe" and whilst being seated at 11:45AM on Tuesday June 2, 2026, noted the wall art had changed, no more local memorabilia, and the menu is now a well worn, two sheet pieces of copy paper. No problem, the place was nearing capacity per usual and we did get a window seated table. But, then I noticed, no collard greens on the menu. So, if you read my earlier reviews, you will note that I have eaten at quite a few "meat and three" style country diners and that I also know how to cook this food at home. That's a big qualifier, because Clayton Cafe had become a part of our destination trip to Clayton from Greenville, SC. It was just that good, a notch above the crowd. I didn't find this experience to be the same. The decor, service, ambiance was the same. Even the same crowd starting a 15 minute table wait shortly after noon. Business has not suffered, but the food is not the same. Overall, everything was less flavorful, more bland. The highlight, the white sawmill gravy was piping hot and flowed well, not a gloopy mess and I like that it was served on the side. The country fried steak was tender, but it had less crunch on the crust and was significantly bland - pepper and salt please. The green beans had a small chunk of meat involved, but they too were very bland and lacked a depth of flavor expected from the hamhock, the biscuit was good, but not the buttery crusty biscuit if yore. The okra was straight up flour breading with no cornmeal in the mixture and that's a game changer on this dish. Fried chicken was good. Squash, or squash casserole was a bland mess and left uneaten. Don't get me wrong. This three star rating means "OK". It's still a good meat and three. It's just not an exceptional meat and three as experiences my multiple prior visits. So that's when I asked the server if the restaurant had changed owners and yes, in April 2026. Well, there ya go, but Bon Chance to the new owners and Godspeed towards the hard work and keeping it going. Obviously, a full house lunch crowd on a Tuesday in June shows positive momentum. I'm just saying, pay attention to flavor, both in depth and complexity, to make these Southern standards stand out from the meat and three crowd.

First, my drink was a Dirty Chai Latte which I have had in many places from coast to coast. This was among the best! Rich creamy and the perfect amount of Chai flavor. Excellent pick me up! Even got a little art on top! What a nice touch and it made me smile! Then came the bagel!! I don't know how they make these in the back but oh my god it was so good! I didn't get the usual jaw work out you get with many bagels. These were so soft and delicious. I chose the everything bagel with lox, capers, red onion and tomato. I forgot to ask for cream cheese but I was half way finished before I even noticed! It was delicious!! The service was really great! Friendly staff! This place really caters to the whitewater community, and has such a laid back vibe! Lots to look at and the whole place is a coffee shop, vintage apparel store, and kayaking and camping outfitter. Unfortunately (but lucky for us), the Red Barn Cafe is no longer serving dinner. We were informed that they will continue to serve brunch. We stumbled upon this place as were visiting Tiger, GA. We went to the wine tasting at Tiger Mountain Vineyards and were told about the Red Barn Cafe during the tasting. They told us that the place is usually crowded so we needed to walk over and see if there was any availability for the evening. We followed the orders and upon walking in, ran into the chef. He greeted us and said that yes, there was availability. I asked what they had on the menu and he replied, "I'm not 100% sure yet, I haven't finished making it." He then proceeded to tell us that he would definitely have steak and fish, but he was not sure what else. I loved hear this as it meant everything was going to be fresh! We came back that evening and walked into the dining area where we were greeted by the 1 waiter that was working. We were the only people in the place. The dining area has a cozy, at home feeling to it, with flowers and lit candles on each table. There is no air conditioning but there are heating lamps around the tables and the waiter provided my wife and I a blanket if we needed it. The waiter was awesome and wish I would have gotten his name. Very personable and provided great service all evening. I got the NY Strip with a baked potato and some sort of greens. It was fresh, came out fast and absolutely delicious! My wife ordered the grouper (we did not know it was fried). It was excellent! I will definitely be back for brunch. All in all, the Red Barn Cafe provides a great atmosphere, excellent service, and superb food. Looking forward to coming back soon.
