Nice place with lots of room for improvement. The setup is really cool, love the layout, the games, the bar, the views and access to the park. Service was (shy of one saving grace) meh and food was just meh. The menu had several items listed that really could bring this place up a notch. Hubby ordered the duck Cuban which was really good. I had the chicken quesadillas, nothing to write home about. My girlfriend got the Philly and said it was good. I love the brand of chips they serve and especially the jalapeño queso chips. They were out of wings. This is a miss considering how this was one of if not the last weekends of the season to see the leaves change colors, it's going to be busy and wings aren't hard to stock nor do they go to waste at a restaurant/bar. They should've been prepared. The setup is you order at the bar, take your drink and a number to your table and they bring your food. Cool. They bring our food out and my gf asks for napkins and they tell her she's gotta go back up to the deck to get them. Huh? Why didn't they just bring them with the food? We have fresh food in front of us and now have to leave that food to get napkins? Here comes saving grace because as soon as that server made it back to the deck, a different server comes out to our table with a caddy of napkins. She was really cool, and much appreciated! They have a target audience (people coming and going to and from the park) so I guess they don't have to deliver stellar food and service but to miss on both is disappointing. People are making memories with their families. And it wouldn't take much to tighten up and deliver amazing food and amazing service instead of just being convenient. I ordered the Shortline Pizza on a GF crust, Roasted Potatoes and Iced Tea as a take-out. That was the biggest GF pizza I have ever seen! I was impressed. We came here after our hike at the gorge for lunch with our three kids. We moved from TX a few years ago, where there were often restaurants with play areas outside for kids, and we loved that this setup was here too. It made our time relaxing and gave us time to bond while playing as a family--the kids also played while we enjoyed a beer. Brilliant. The wings are smoked by hand and were a highlight. The food is so so, the atmosphere and vibe is awesome. The Italian sandwich has barely any meat (took the meat and added it to half of the bread to make an actual half a sandwich) and the smoked chicken wings were at least a day ago smoked (not fall of bone) but tough and out of 8 I had 2 burnt and completely dried out (inedible). Great day at The Tallulah Adventures restaurant. We were able to sit outside and enjoy a great fall day. It was quiet when we first arrived but then it got more crowded with kids running on the grass and enjoying the day and families just having a wonderful time. It was a great family vibe - but also my friend and I were able to talk without being interrupted. Food was wonderful. Ambiance great. Highly recommend for a nice relaxing time. The only weird thing about this place is that there aren't really any signs explaining how to order so we had to ask around. Friend and I were going to Black Rock Mountain to go camping for the weekend and this place was recommended. I am now recommending it to everyone that drives up here. You order at the bar and started off with a local IPA and the Pulled Pork sandwich. She asked me which sauce and I asked for all three on the side. My recommendation is mixing the sweet and spicy together! The people behind the counter were super nice, the food was delicious, and the location opens up to head down to the beach area on the river. We stopped into this spot, actually called The Edge Cafe. It is a cafe and bar behind/underneath the Wander store on the side of the road. The bar overlooks a yard that has some games for kids and a bouldering wall (I think it requires a day pass). There were a few TVs and the bartenders were all very, very young. We didn't expect much from this more pretentious seeming spot in the middle of N GA and ordered the Earthy Girl (a mushroom flatbread) and a draft Hi-Wire pickle beer. We honestly loved both. The flatbread had mixed mushrooms piled high (yay!) underneath a layer of cheese. I wish it came with much less cheese, but it was delightful. We also loved the beer (and it's uniqueness). They had a few tempting drafts and some boozy kombucha. I recommend the pickle beer while they have it! read more

What a cool place! There is nice outdoors seating (with fans) overlooking a great grassy lawn that is super kids/dog friendly. They have fun activities like tether ball, big Jenga & rock climbing. Very enjoyable experience. We came here for an early dinner after spending the day exploring Tallulah gorge. Excellent food and beer menu. Live music was also excellent. Family and pet-friendly. Looking forward to stopping here whenever we are in the Georgia mountains. We met the owners and they were very outgoing and cordial. This place is the bees knees and caters to the outdoor minded quite well. Great place to stop for a bite after hiking the Gorge. If your kids aren't tired after the 1,099 stairs, take them here for some rock climbing and obstacle course. A really great lawn for kids and dogs alike! It was quite cold the day we went and they have an enclosed patio that warmed us up! Everyone in my group had a sandwich or flatbread. Everyone said how good the food was. A little pricey at $13-$14 a sandwich but the quality is worth it. Since moving to Gainesville area in the past few mos, I've driven by this spot a dozen times on my way to Asheville & hadn't noticed it was there. This past Sunday on the way back home, late on a Sunday STARVING... the new sign caught my eye & I turned around to go back and see if they were still serving. Adam was cleaning up but still serving! 2 Octoberfest craft brews & we split a Club sandwich - chose potato salad (it's German style & fresh) & a side of collards. Because if collards are on the menu I'm IN! Everything was fresh & generously portioned. The staff was very attentive & stayed in touch even though they were busy breaking down fir the night. This is an EXCELLENT spot to take your family. There is a great lawn out back with a fire pit, band stage (small), climbing walks & can imagine is an excellent spot for families. Beer & wine only but such a tremendous find! Definitely will be back! Sorry I only got a pic of our cleaned plate as I didn't think to take a pic until we were finished but the proof that the food was excellent is right there. Hoping to see more items be added in the future but I'm sure anyone can find a good thing here. Love having a pleasant surprise & outdoors vibe. Beautiful place they've built out back!
