This is the first time ever coming to this location. If my nephew hadn't suggested going here. This place wouldn't have been my pick at all. Anyway the combos I must admit they give you a lot of food. I had the spicy chicken with mayo and cheese, Cajun fries, and cheese tots. He had the cheeseburger with Cajun fries, and nuggets. Counter service was was EXCELLENT, especially after telling the clerk we were first timers; she walked us through all the options and recommended several options. Great food, great value as is typical for Cookout. The trays give you a tremendous amount of food for under $10. And the service at the drive thru is very quick, lighting fast and the food is hot. Indoor seating is closed due to Covid so you have to use the drive thru but there is some outdoor seating for you to get out of your car and eat at if you want to. read more

Cook Out used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Farmville Va. The last few times I've been there, the food seems to be getting smaller portioned as the prices are rising. The service has been very unprofessional, at times rude. I've had to call the corporate office to complain when I had to sit at the window holding up the line while the young girl at the window got my order wrong, not once or twice but three times, then rolled her eyes as she shut the window and walked away ignoring me as if I was going to drive away without items I had already paid for but didn't receive. Finally another person came to the window and got the manager to straighten it out. I only go there on occasion now to get the Cheerwine float not the food. read more

Thank goodness for our cashier, La'Taesha,who saved the night with her sweet attitude! They need to let the girl doing the drive-thru orders go!!! She didn't get our order correct after I explicitly stated it several times. When I restarted my order she was condescending and completely rude. Most of the time I try to ignore people who are rude. This time it was extremely difficult not to park my car and come in and complain. I decided to be above the behavior that I wrongly experienced. Especially in front of my son. Instead we used it as a learning experience of how NOT to conduct themselves. When I arrived at the window La'Taesha was very polite and gave us extra napkins. She even told us to have a nice evening which was so different than the person taking our order! I hope that this gets read and that the manager chooses to do the right thing. Thank you for nothing! I was up late around 3:45am and was looking for something to eat. It was my understanding that cookout was open till 4:00am. However, when I arrived at the FarmVille location the employee completely ignored my presence. I sat there for several minutes after a grunt came through the voice box. I went here with my boyfriend tonight and the girl at the drive through picked an attitude with us. We told her twice that we wanted a fudge banana milkshake and she kept saying I know, and fresh banana. And we get to the window and first she hands us the wrong shake, SLAMS the window closed, and doesn't come back for 5 minutes. We thought she was remaking it but NO she came back and I take one sip of it and I get a mouthful of fudge. They didn't even mix it. We have eaten here many times as we are in Farmville quite a bit and have never had too much of a problem. Tonight, however, the individual working the drive through was distracted while taking our order. Our order totalled more than it should so when we questioned this individual she had to repeat our order three times because it wasn't right and then got an attitude with us. We ended up not getting everything we asked for and had to ask multiple times to get things. Don't usually complain but this experience was something else! read more

We decided to have lunch at the local Cook Out today. We had 5 people in our party and so our order was a bit big for the cashier to manage. When half the order was ready the cashier called out our number. We retrieved the items. When the cashier again called our number, another patron grabbed our items and went to his table. He opened the packages and realized it was not his order and returned them to the cashier. The cashier took them and promptly handed them to us. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was completing our order. I asked if he our food had been touched. He opened them and said it did not look like it. I told him to get them remade. The attitude this male cashier gave me was horrible. I am appalled at the ignorance of this person. I will never return again. read more

The place is always packed with high school kids because the fare is cheap and passable. Their redeeming quality is in their 40 varieties of super-thick milkshakes. They are fresh and contain real fruit, candy and cookies. The flavors are diverse and eclectic. My personal favorite is the Hi-C Punch. The service is first-rate. Avoid at any cost whatsoever. I was traveling through and it was late. I stopped in at 9:50 and there was a massive group of people arguing in the parking lot. Part of the arguments came into the establishment which the bad part was some of the arguments were with employees wearing cookout shirts. I left because I did not feel safe eating there and voice my opinion to some of the employees inside. I also spoke to the manager, which she said all she could say is I asked them to leave. The bad part is she was yelling at the other employees that were there about the whole argument. Again my opinion avoid that establishment at all costs. Maybe it was because of how late in the evening it was. NOT a SAFE place to stop and eat at. Cook-Out really needs to become involved with that establishment if they want it to last. read more

I was in town for a funeral. I have family in the area and my Dad grew up here, so I visit Farmville, VA often. This Cookout was not here the last time I visited so it's fairly new. It got our attention due to the size of the building and it's an "eat in", plus a drive through restaurant. I don't think there's one like this in NC. It's clean, service is quick. My BBQ sandwich was significantly larger than I've had in NC. I always order with Texas Pete and no slaw and it was still huge without the slaw. Oh, and my fries had little to no salt and cooked perfectly. The shakes are served in see-thru plastic cups and not styrofoam. Not that plastic is any better, but it's better than styrofoam! The Cookouts in NC need to take note. It's right down the street from Longwood University and I'm sure the students are enjoying it due to the cheap eats. read more

This was a great place when it opened. It's still usually ok for lunch. The last few times we came after 3 or so it's been disappointing. The smell of old mop water from the kitchen tonight almost made me sick. Not sure who had mopped. There was a hoard of employees standing around the register (as usual). I love cookout. The food as always is wonderful. Price is great. Again love the food. However what I would like for the cookout at Farmville Virginia to understand is that because you are a 2 Lane Dr. out it is very hard for the person in the second lane to see if there's anyone at the window for the second spot. As soon as I know what my prices I automatically assume that I can move to that spot. So today it was kind of a shock when I realized oh the person in front of me hasn't been served yet. And that I block the person that was in the first spot. And then there was an additional annoyance when the server literally stuck her head out of the window and told me hey I have to move I almost wanted to just leave rather than deal with it. I understand it's nobody's fault. But I would just like to make it known that as soon as somebody here is the price and knows that their food is on the way they don't want to just stay in one spot. I don't want anyone fired for this I don't anyone scolded for this I just want to make this known that if there is still someone being served at the second window don't take the persons order who is currently in line for the second window. read more
