This Cook Out sits at the Gallatin and Trinity intersection and for the most part, is your standard Cook Out location. However, it's a tight fit here, so be careful when coming and going, and be prepared fo an easily backed up drive thru. While I prefer the other nearby Cook Out location, when I am on Gallatin a the craving hits, I don't mind swinging by here. I usually get my food to go or grab it via the drive thru. The dining room at this location can get a little dicey and never seems to stay very clean. The classic combo always gets me here because where else can I get a quesadilla as a side!? Service at this location is okay. Same service inside and via drive thru, so they are at least consistent. Overall, this Cook Out is okay. When in the area and the craving hits, I don't mind swinging by. read more

Don't like writing these reviews. 100% hate writing these reviews. I've heard about what a great value they are, and went there. I had a "tray" with a burger and a hot dog. The burger had a soapy taste. The hot dog tasted like someone dumped soapy water on the grill to clean it up from the day before and used the hot dog to clean it up. This is a "nope, I don't care if it's cheap, I don't need to eat soap." Run away. I've never had soapy tasting food in 41 years of eating fast food. I am beyond willing to give a place a second chance. Soapy food given to a customer? They think this is normal? I don't care how much your trays are if your food is literally not editable. read more

Amazing food and prices! The service is also good when you understand speakers on drive thrus can cause miss communication. That's why you they have you pay at the window so you can make sure your order was taken correctly. Not to be confused with Coked Out, which is what your one friend in Los Angeles is. Cook-Out is one of the best restaurants have ever been to in a fast-food sense. It's so superior to the vast majority of fast food around the country that I actually think that it's better than a lot of non fast food things. It's certainly one of my favourite places out of the many sh**ty fast food offerings in the USA and there's nothing sh**ty about the amazing Cajun sandwich here or the backyard-tasting burger that is as if someone just grilled it up for you on the back porch which is kind of like what Burger King is going for, but this place does it so much better. Excellent Sweet Tea as well. Cook Out remains one of the best late-night dining values in fast food for the area. There's a plethora of caloric greasy but tasty meals to choose from and you can mix and match to your heart's desire. Prices have gone up, as they have everywhere, so what cost you as little as $5 a year or two ago now will cost you $7 or $8. Hopefully that's being passed on to the staff at least in part. I continue to dig the cheese bites most, but the basic (but tasty) quesadillas and burgers always hit the spot as well. This location is drive through only at night, unlike some of the other locations which I didn't know until I pulled in after a concert, but that worked out. We come to this location a lot and unfortunately they just never do near as well as the other locations. I always get the same basket with chicken strips, fries, cheese bites, and an Oreo shake. They never put hardly any Oreos in and they always give me around 4-5 cheese bites. Compared to all the other locations I've been to that load the shakes up with Oreos along with giving you almost equal amounts of cheese bites to the fries. Honestly this place just rips you off to save money. Sometimes they don't even give you but two little chicken pieces. Please improve your portion sizes. read more

This is no In & Out burger. We finally drove through to try this place that got so much fanfare when it opened. The absurdity cheap prices had me worried, but we continued to order. One star goes to the Cajun fries; they were decent enough. The corndogs tasted like they were from the grocery store and had been fried hours before. There was the slight hint of freezer burn and card board taste to them. I got a small cheese burger and the bun was so hard it was inedible. My boyfriend got the chili burger and said the same thing. My brother and I got milkshakes. Mine was the Oreo Mint and it was really good, but he got the Caramel Fudge and it was so goopy. If someone melted ice cream and dumped Hersheys chocolate syrup in it, it would match this shake perfectly. I'm surprised he didn't go into a coma because of how sweet it was. As always, the diversity of the menu and deliciousness of the food made it a must have when I travel, as I live 500 miles from my nearest Cookout in Wisconsin. And just like you need to eat at Culvers in Wisconsin, Cookout rules the southeast. Don't sleep on the coleslaw, always a great choice there. Oh, and hush puppies! Why can't you get them in Wisconsin? It's wild, given how many menu choices there are that the people working there didn't make any mistakes with my order. I was looking forward to going to Cookout tonight, as I've heard great things, and was so disappointed at the results. The first thing was that I was asking if I could get chili cheese fries, and they talked over me multiple times and then questioned me, acting as if that wasn't a normal question, as it's a menu item. We ended up just ordering other things. I ordered a burger cookout chili cheese style, a Cajun chicken wrap and fries, and what I got was disappointing to say the least. I opened my takeout bag to find a limp-ass, soggy-bunned, smushed and plain mess of a burger. Definitely not a burger with chili, cheese and etc. My chicken wrap was also wrong andd so dry, and the fries were plain. I like this place because, they know what they are here for, and they get the job done well, and swiftly. I work odd hours, and often I'm too tired to go home and cook after a super long day, and there are not many options on Gallatin Pike that can let you order, grab your food, and be home in your comfy clothes in a quick amount of time. THIS PLACE KNOWS YOU WANT TO BE IN YOUR COMFY CLOTHES. The food is not pricey, the milkshakes are awesome, and the service is friendly. I was a little skeptical when our friends asked us to meet them here. Walking in I figured out why. You can get an entire meal for $5.00. It is great when you bring kids, my kids can share one meal, it is more than enough for them. Took it up to the cashier and said, "There's no cheese." She took it. I went and sat down. She yelled my number again. I went and got it. Sat down, bit into it, opened up the sandwich and the bacon was missing. Went back up to the cashier and said, "There's no bacon." A guy came out and said, "I'm going to make it myself." I went and sat down, drank my water, munched on some fries. He brought it out to me and said, "Maam, I made it myself." I thanked him, opened it up and tomato seeds were dripping out of it. The bacon and cheese were there, and so was the tomato, I didn't order. I couldn't go through that, again. I pulled the tomato out and ate it. To say that I speak another language, would be incorrect. To say that they did not understand english, would be incorrect. Never been more stressed out in my life. This place is what the DMV would be if it were a restaurant. I wasn't sure if I was going to get shot or robbed, but I knew both were a possibility. They also put lemon juice packets right next to the ketchup, so my burger was accidentally doused with lemon juice (Thought it was mustard).
