Cookout directly across street from ETSU campus.

Driving by the sign said BANANA PUDDING MILK SHAKES. I thought to myself how could you make a milkshake like banana pudding. Well let me tell you, I'll return to try the food but if you love banana pudding you will love this milkshake- thick and creamy with bits of banana and wafers throughout. At the bottom you need a spoon to clean out a gob of wafers and banana goodness that sunk to the bottom.

Long line for take out late night - best to go in even for take out unless you have good company!!

I have been to Cook-out a few times and finally getting around to giving it a review. The name certainly conjures up great memories of family cookouts with burgers and hot dogs and to me that sets a pretty high bar. I find Cookout overall disappointing. I have to say it is best enjoyed late at night and that is supported by a typical long drive through line starting at around 11pm. Giving a nod for late night food is hardly an endorsement for a high quality product and certainly not worthy of meeting the family cookout standard, or at least the ones that I fondly remember. I would say that Cook-out strives to be in the casual fast food category which has some very stiff competition. First off the hot dog is way below average - I say don't bother - it is a throw away menu item. A thin dog that does not meet the standard of any good dog I have had at a stadium or hot dog vendor - if I was giving a review strictly on the hot dog it would be a 1!! Second a good burger needs a sturdy and tasty bun - this one is neither as evidenced by many of the review pics including my own. I have great memories from LA of a fast food burger with chili from Tommy's World Famous which I think is a good comparison. With that in mind I ordered my burger cookout style which adds homemade chili, slaw, mustard and onion. The burger tasted slightly of a cookout style burger but much more like I am really hungry late at night burger. I have not had the Milkshakes here and maybe I would raise my review a point if I did but I kinda doubt it. This is below average fast food and shame on them .. there are so many great examples of really good fast food / casual fast food. The place is unexciting as well - along with the service. The price is average for this fair coming in at just over $5 with no drink or fries. I won't be hurrying back to Cookout that is for sure unless I pass it late at night and just have to have an okay burger!!

Good cheddar bacon burger Real good cajun fries Really really good shakes (banana+pineapple and cherry+cheesecake) Lousy hot dogs (saltiness is unreal)

Below-par food is all I can say about this place. Eat their food whilst drunk and you may enjoy it.

My experience was not pleasant at all. To begin with, the cashier was not friendly, had awful customer service skills and had really bad hygiene. My meal was completely screwed up, and the food that I did receive was way below par. I got some kind of wrap with a pathetic, tiny piece of chicken and a tiny piece of lettuce in it. I am not satisfied. I'm all for local restaurants, but this establishment was terrible with no standards nor consistency. Save your hard-earned money. If you're craving late night food, even Waffle House would probably satisfy you. Or eat their food to soak up the alcohol after your favorite pub closes. This place is not worth it.

Slapped together mess i got on previous visit before hair.

The outside area has TV's, lots do covered areas for shade, and even heaters for the cold months. Just a great vibe. The service was fantastic! Our server was amazing. Can't remember his name, but he has the Joker tattoo on his arm with lots of HA HA on it too! He was a gem and super friendly. He constantly checked on us and was such a nice guy. We ordered the grilled peach margarita (get this) and the top shelf marg which was also good (so good that we ordered 2 more). They also have a peanut butter jelly beer that we tried that was delicious. Well done drinks! We only ordered an app to snack on. Let me be clear about this... ORDER THIS!!! It was the Firecracker Pork Belly. Listen to me... this is dream worthy. This is magic. This is insanely good. Absolutely not enough words to describe how amazing this is and how much you have to get it. The pork belly itself is crunchy on the outside while also melting in your mouth. Then, the General Tso sauce served with it is perfection. There are scallions and a creamy sauce in the plate as well. You will question if it's okay to lick the plate. This place is great! Get there.

The beer, some from an attached brewery, was great, with a nice range of styles. Not everything on tap was another IPA. In terms of food, I'm not their target audience, but they do seem to have made at least some effort to have something without meat on the menu. In terms of food, I ordered the house salad with a smoked vegetable topping. It was great. The smoked vegetables were a really nice way to get a little bit of barbecue into a vegetarian dish. They also added lots of flavor to the salad. I was afraid the salad might not be very substantial, so I also ordered some pickle fries. Those were interesting, but substantially more food than I needed. The salad is already plenty for a meal. I've been traveling this week, and I think this place is the best restaurant I've checked out during my trip. Highly recommended.

Our company commented on how nice the restaurant is and the 4 of us were seated at a large booth which gave us plenty of room. We were promptly greeted by Bree, who brought us waters and took our drink order. We ordered the spinach dip which everyone devoured. On to dinner...I have been here several times and asked Bree to help me decide between the Chef's pasta or the buttermilk chicken. She recommended the pasta if I was hoping to have leftovers. I had it with the Cajun cream sauce and blackened salmon. Absolutely delicious!!!! The other dishes were blackend salmon with Pomodoro sauce and the sea bass. Ordered a side of brussel sprouts and garlic parm fries for the table to share. Bree was outstanding and our meals were all delicious. We prefer to eat at the bar but we're very happy with our table and the service.

For my entree I ordered the Chef's Pasta and opted for the Cajun cream sauce with blackened salmon. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce and salmon made it the perfect combo. Would definitely get this entree again. The service was great and our drinks never ran dry. Our waitress made several suggestions for the table and was super attentive and kind. Overall we had a great experience at Label and will be back.
