Our server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was good with wood features and moody lighting. I ordered the filet (medium rare) and lobster with a salad and asparagus. Unfortunately, my filet was very rare. I sent it back and it came back perfectly cooked. Lobster and asparagus were amazing and cooked perfectly. Our server was polite and attentive. The only reason I am giving this four stars instead of five is because we had to wait a little longer than we would have liked on our food, maybe 20 minutes or so. However, when our food did come out, it was hot, fresh and very tasty. read more

This is our second disappointing visit in about a month. Not sure if understaffed or just inexperienced given its midweek. We ve been coming about a year and have been generally happy with the service and food. Tonight, the service was rushed. We didn't order an appetizer when we were first seated and that seemed to affect the flow. When we were ready to order, she took the appetizer but didn't stay to take the main course order. When she returned to take the mains order, we were already pretty much done with the appetizer (no check in). The mains were served by another person and we had to ask for dirty dishes to be cleared. My hubby also couldn't order a beer from that person The meats were cooked as ordered. The sides (vegetables) were cold. When she checked in, she seemed surprised that I'd request replacements. My hubby ordered his beer. She brought new veggies but one was still cold. The manager came by and said he'd fix it, but then we didn't see him again. Hubby got beer after he'd eaten 3/4 of his meal. So, not awful, but not good enough. Meals should be served hot. read more

Always a nice place for date night. The darker ambiance gives it a little more romance and the waitstaff are always attentive with being intrusive. Steaks, chicken, red rock shrimp - it's all good. Oddly though one of my favorite must haves is the Brussel sprouts which pares well with the 20oz bone-in ribeye. Asked for a salad with no cucumbers it was full of them. Longhorn has been our favorite place to eat for years and we typically eat here at least once a month. Today we went for lunch and was seated next to the door. (Think lots of cold air and traffic.) We asked for another table before we actually sit down...and the hostess info us the only other table available ended up being next to the kitchen. (Think high traffic.) What made this disappointing was the restaurant was basically empty...and we just wanted to move a table or two down from the front door and we would have been perfectly happy. But the hostess said no. (This makes the third time this has happened to us...maybe we just have bad karma?) Texas Roadhouse just built a new restaurant in Johnson City just over the hill from LH. I hadn't tried the JC longhorns location since moving here, and was reluctant to go after reading reviews. Our experience was good. The ribeye was delicious along with the rest of our meal. Restaurants like longhorns, or Texas Roadhouse stay very busy just about every day of the week. I can see it being difficult to provide 5 star service without being over staffed which is very difficult for all restaurants ever since Covid. I wouldn't come here on a weekend considering just how crowded it was on a Monday evening, but our food and service overall was good. We will be returning in the near future read more

But today they failed, we sat down and waited a good 10 minutes before anyone came for our drink order, we ordered the salad and baked potato. We waited a bit, when our baked potatoes came out it looked like someone had chewed their way through it, still no salad and no bread. We were almost done with our potatoes when the salads came out. So I ordered a medium sirloin steak and it was awful. Besides the price is being through the roof, about like every other place, the state was like when I never had anywhere else before. One end of the steak was so well done and dry I could hardly get it down yet the other side of the steak medium, I really don't know how you can do that I don't send steaks back that I am unhappy with, but I do let management know. Have been eating at Longhorns for 30 years and have never had a bad experience until last night. In a restaurant that is less than half full of diners there is no way for an appetizer to be served cold, but it came cold (Texas Tonions). Came back barely warm after we sent them back. Waitress had friends come in and we ceased to be a concern but luckily for us we were having entre salads. Total time in restaurant was close to an hour and a half. I have been to Longhorns on a wait before where I had better service and got out quicker. When you walk in you think you are in Longhorns as you look around but it ends there. I ate here about seven hours ago and the food was fantastic! The only complaint I have is I was sitting across from this table that was acting a fool earlier today!!!!! I was enjoying my dinner with my crippled husband and there was a 40 person table beside us. the kids wouldn't sit down and even tripped my husband on the way to the bathroom!! This woman stopped one of the servers and was cussing at her threatening her. I was about to call the cops! The woman said the server was flipping her off when I saw the whole thing!!!! But I was charged for all the side dishes because we picked the sides that were not included. She should have said something about an upcharge when we ordered.
