The second time we received food from here. The first time was after graduation and it was busy. The prices are great with 2 meals for about 17 dollars including tax. Cheaper than McDonald's or any other fast food here or in California and the food was good. It is not gourmet but for fast food it was good. I loveeeeeeee love love their m&m milkshakes I'm deathly allergic to peanuts but recently there is always a peanut butter cup piece or chunk of peanut butter in my milkshakes. I'm from up in NY so while here we decided to try this local chain... we went to the Lynchburg location and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised ... the drive they line was super long so we went in to order and we received out food in like 5 minutes ... I got the double burger as my son did and we both enjoyed it very much... you can definitely tell they are flame broiled... my nephew got the spicy chicken wrap and loved it and to be honest the hush puppies were amazing .. far better than I thought they would be... probably the best I've had in a long time... the prices were definitely more than reasonable.... It's called Cook out! Worst experience as my first time experience........ At the Lynchburg on a Sunday about 10:15pm, I went to order inside. The place is like a kids hangout. Can't even figure out who works there or is hanging out. Saw a small toddler behind the counter area. Observed unsanitary food preparation in the back area with sloppy messy food preparation. The ambience is like a ghetto hangout. None of the "kid" employees seem like they are working instead are "horsing around". I ordered my food at 10:15pm and after 20 minutes, I decided to ask what happened to my order. Turns out the order was lost and wasn't made. I gave the order taker my itemized receipt. He went to the back to check on it. I told him that I needed that itemized receipt and instead, they threw it away in the back. I had a feeling that I would not be getting my receipt back once I gave it to them. So after about 25 minutes, I finally got my 1 cheese burger and 1 spicy chicken sandwich. The burger was not hot and didn't taste good. The grill spicy chicken was ok initially but then it was hard as I ate. The only non disappointment was the shake. I thought I try this place as I read a few reviews from Yelp and it was generally good. The clientele is young college kids who settle for mediocre to bad service. Cook Out has a good size menu with great prices and fast service. We stopped by this afternoon around 3:00 thinking that it wouldn't be too busy, even thought they just opened... Boy were we wrong. The drive through line was around the building, twice and the line inside wrapped around the dining room. We were thinking that it would take 30 minutes to get through the line and get our food, but it was closer to 10. Nicely done Cook Out. I ordered a "tray" with two chili dogs, hush puppies and onion rings with a Cheer Wine float. $4.29!?!?!? Wow. What a deal for all of that food. And that is what makes Cook Out so attractive. You get a ton of decent food for a great price. I didn't leave thinking "man, that was one of the best meals I've had!".
