Fast and friendly service. Open late 4 am even during the week. A wide variety on their menu and much of their menu is cook to order. The front staff are very friendly and helpful if it's your first time there. As a native of North Carolina I'm happy to see cook out finally in nashville. Not a bad back up fast food place if the wait at Hattie B's is over 1 hour long. Honestly, when me and my group got to cookout, we were not expecting much, but the good thing was that the inside was relatively clean and the atmosphere was calm and casual. The ordering process was smooth and easy because there was almost nobody there. In regards to the food, I got the $4.99 value combo. This combo lets you choose a burger, 2 sides, and a drink (please opt to pay the $1 fee to get the fancy shake). I got the double burger and the two patties it came with were very thin and there were hardly any toppings added onto it. In addition, I got the onion rings and chili as my 2 sides. I was horribly disappointed at the portion size of the onion rings, I mean 3 onion rings? Seriously? If you want a side that comes with a bunch of food, definitely opt for the french fries. You will get a large handful of them (also the chili came with an extremely small portion and tasted like canned Hormel chili). The only thing that legitimately saved this disastrous value combo was the fancy shake, which is basically a heavenly milkshake. I got the cherry pie fancy shake and it was delicious (I should've ordered two). The milkshake was thick and creamy (decent portion size), it even had cherries inside of the shake. Honestly, it was probably one of the best milkshakes I have ever had and I highly recommend getting a fancy shake here, they have like 20 different flavors! In the context of a fast food restaurant this is one of the better burgers you'll find in Nashville. What makes it uniques is it indeed does taste like a cookout burger with its flame grilled taste as opposed to the usual fried patty you'll find at any other restaurant. This place is pretty cool. For lunch I got a Cajun chicken wrap and a corn dog. The food tasted good! The tea was good. You can get sweet or unsweet. They had a lot of options. Corn dogs, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken tenders, etc... I got take out and it was ready in just a couple minutes. Fast and good. Will definitely go back. Also my bill was $4.12. Got the double giant burger with ketchup, onions,pickles and cheese. Wasn't that giant and was really dry, don't really believe they wait to make it till you order it. Oh, got fries and Chili as my sides.. Fries were just there, big hunks of potato but that's just it. No flavoring not even salt. The Chili was ok, bit spicy but tolerable. Might reduce the heat on that just a bit. Also got a Cherry Cheesecake shake, was not good at all, took a few sips and gave it too my dog. I probably won't be back. I've always had friends tell me about cook out in knoxville but I never go to knoxville. I was with some friends getting chocolate wasted at bars and such around the area and all became drunk hungry bros. One friend was talking all this ish about how we needed cook out so we stumbled in there drunkingly. On first enter just lookin at the menu was too difficult for my inebriated state of mind, so I basically ordered everything I saw smh. Got a corn dog, nuggets, chili burger, spicy chicken sandwich. When I sat down at the table and started eating, I felt like I was eating at high school lunch with high school lunch tasting food. Thats all this is, cheap high school cafeteria lunch. I grew up in NC and pretty much grew up on Cookout! Sad to say that I'm highly disappointed in this Cookout. It is by far the worst Cookout I have ever been to! Their customer service has been shitty since they first opened and continues to get worse! Their employees have been rude countless times (especially when going through the drive through) they always seem to have an attitude! When you receive your food the order is NEVER correct! It's either wrong all together or it's missing something! My coworkers and I love going here for lunch. We work downtown, so there's not much to choose from within walking distance, but this is a quick short drive. The food has always tasted fresh and it is always quickly ready. I love their Cajun Chicken Sandwich. I also love that they have Cheerwine which not many places around here have. Unbelievably terrible service. When we walked in the woman that took our order didn't look at us or even acknowledge us. After giving half our order she said "oh I'm done with you." Confused, we asked if she knew we wanted four burgers, and she answered "oh" like we were inconveniencing her. We got our food and left. The burgers were delicious but the chicken sandwich consists of a piece of dried up chicken with nothing on it. An order of onion rings means you get three very small ones... It all started when I walked in the door. It was completely packed and it was a fight getting to the cash register. After about 40 minutes of waiting in line, I finally ordered one burger. Half an hour later, I got the burger I ordered. The burger was cold, had toppings I did not ask for, and was very small. To top it all off, a large group of college students in here with me ordered a long time before me, and got their meals about an hour after I got my food. After finally getting their food, the loud claps and cheers erupted from their group. My friend got the milkshake and didn't make it halfway through it before he threw it away. I think this is a better alternative to McDonalds, Burger King, Jack In The Box, etc.. when you are downtown. We've eaten here at lunch, mid afternoon and early evening when leaving the hospital for the past 6 weeks. The Cook Out Tray is awesome and you are full. We've gotten the cheeseburger, chili ànd chicken quesadilla with unsweetened tea, hamburger with fries, onion rings and coke float, cheeseburger cheddar style, fries, quesadilla and a shake, chili dog, chicken sandwich, and other items from the menu. They have something for everyone for our large family and pretty reasonable in pricing. We've always gone to the drive thru with speed and accuracy and the employees have always been nice and courteous. Will be back again. read more

If you want grill quality at McDonald's prices then this is your place. But!! good luck getting the correct order. I go at least once a week since they've opened (again, because of the quality Vs. price ratio) I don't even need one hand to count the amount of times that they've completed my order correctly. I get a burger every time and EVERY TIME it's wrong. My order is a burger with no onions (that simple). The food is pretty good however I didn't get the chance to really read all of the menu before I stepped up to order. Probably would've ordered differently had I taken a little more time to read it. The cookout tray seems to be an awesome deal where you get one entree with two sides and a drink for $4.99. There's almost no combo in fast food for that price these days. The burger tastes like it was cooked on a grill in a buddy's back yard. The shake shouldn't be confused with the drink through a straw milkshake. This is more of spoon kind of dessert. These were the rudest people we have ever interacted with. We pulled up, and there were two lines. By the time we pulled up to the menu where we order, we had a security guard rudely bang on our window and tell us we had to loop around. Apparently, they put cones up as we were in line, and decided to kick us out of line and make us start over. This was ridiculous and made us wait for at least 30 minutes for our food. This is just a fast food type restaurant, but I am not from Nashville and feel compelled to review it because the concept is neat: The burgers seem to be hand-packed and taste like they were made on a grill, like the kind of burgers you would have at a small cookout with family or friends. You get to choose two sides, and a drink is included as part of the "meal." I chose the bacon wrap (which was a small tortilla with bacon and lettuce and sauce inside) and onion rings as my sides. The sides are small, but perfect to quell a craving without having to commit to a large, separate order of something. The burger was wrapped up in aluminum foil, as was the bacon wrap, and it was all put in a Styrofoam container. It made me feel the way you feel when someone makes you a plate to take home from a family cookout (as weird as that may sound). And I couldn't believe the prices: A little over $12 for two people to eat! read more
