Tastes like a burger from an actual cookout. And a burger for under $5 can't beat it.

This place is so great and the prices are insanely cheap. The vibe of the inside of the restaurant is comparable to any typical fast food joint and you just order at the counter. The food came out really fast and the staff was nice.

Stopped by here after attending a concert at the arena and the whole arena seemed to be here as well. The drive thru line circled around the building and the line inside was just as bad. There were three workers manning the registers and so the line moved pretty quickly. The workers were definitely not having it though as they all looked mad to be there... I ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries and my sister had the bacon cheeseburger with fries and an Oreo shake. It took about 20 minutes until our number was called out. It was chaotic in there as everyone seemed to still be rowdy from the concert. The workers were all stressin. We picked up our food and we decided to eat back at the hotel. My burger was decent as it had flavor and was cooked well. They added bacon to it even though I asked for it to be plain. My sister said her burger was really good and she really liked the shake. The fries were a little to soggy for my liking. Overall the food wasn't bad. The service was crappy though.

This was the only late night food that was open when we were in the area. This is basically a fast food joint that I've never heard of. From what I understand there's a few locations but not many. It's a standard hamburger and hotdog joint with a few other items like bbq and chicken sandwiches. Apparently they're also known for their milkshakes. I went for their combo meal which included a chicken sandwich, a corndog, french fries, and a drink. I decided to try an Oreo shake for my drink. It was OK but nothing to rave about. In fact, all my food was just OK. The thing that struck us most about this place was The ordering and pick up process for your food. You ordered at a counter, but picked up at a different counter. But the way the restaurant was laid out you had to walk around a section of tables. If you go to the order counter, they won't give you your food, even if nobody's there, they make you walk around to the other section of the counter. Odd. My friend tried an old-fashioned float and he liked it so much, he got a second one. If you're hungry, this place works...especially late!

Today was my second time here :) I had a "regular burger" with tomato, bacon, and cheese. My bacon seemed to be undercooked but the flavor of the burger was good, tasted even better with some of their buffalo sauce. I also had a small order of their "cajun fries" and they were delicious! (Adding the buffalo sauce on them made them taste even better as well). Lastly I had a small vanilla milkshake, last time I came here I remembered it being so thick that I couldn't even drink it... so this time I specifically asked for it to be more on the liquid side, lol but no luck today, it was thicker than thick. The taste is good but its not drinkable so grab a spoon! The service seems to always be friendly and helpful here, and the restaurant is big enough for groups.

Fast food quality, only good for when you're drunk. The buns were soggy and lacked flavor.

Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted with mutli-color barriers to route you around the registers. It was an odd layout. The food was prepared pretty quickly. However, the food tasted like it has been sitting around for awhile. The burger patty was also very small - about half the size of the bun. The price was the best thing about Cook Out.

Food is average but the prices make it a two star at best. Too many better burger joints to waste your time here.

Chicken dredge had a nice blend of dry spices and a small amount of sweetness. Fried well (still juicy). I feel like I can take a decent amount of heat, but my happiness level was at a medium. Hot, I could kind of handle but not ideal. Damn Hot was not a fun experience anymore. I got the Comeback Sauce which didn't really help with the heat since it's a little spicy itself. My friends ordered a side of BBQ sauce that was like a creamy BBQ sauce. It tasted pretty good, but a bit of an odd combo with the wings. The sides were really good. Out of the ones I tasted, I would order them: Pimento Mac & Cheese - cheesy goodness, pasta on the softer side, but still acceptable Black Eyed Pea Salad - a nice refreshing take on beans with a good hit of vinegar. Pairs well with fried chicken Cole Slaw - a pretty standard, but solid slaw Bacon Cheddar Grits - very cheesy, a little thinner than I was expecting Hattie B's knows what they're doing and are cranking out good food. Love the food and I think it's reasonably priced.

Lol I liked the communication of the staff because our food was going to take a little longer since they needed to fry a new batch of chicken. Food was amazing and definitely hit the spot. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting.

Two thick, juicy patties, half smashed, with amazing pickles and the perfect slice of American cheese to top it off. On its own, I'd give the burger an 8.5/10. And the fries? An insane amount, enough to share every single time you go. Here's the catch though: the price is just wild. So much so that it drags the overall score down to a 7.5. I just can't justify paying $25 for a burger, fries, and a drink.

You may spend a little more but, for your dollars, you got better beef, bigger patties, better buns, 'fancy' fries, and the like. If you chose Five Guys, you made a choice to swap $$ for quality. That choice is no longer the case. As time has gone on and prices have increased everywhere across the board, the patty size has decreased, the 'specialness' of the buns have gone away and the fries aren't so fancy; they're a bit common. So, then, why spend the extra money for something as every day as a burger and fries... especially when you can buy the same thing locally? I don't have an answer. Well, I don't have a good one. This outpost benefits from location. Being so close to Vanderbilt and hotels makes it an easy answer for the out-of-towner or college kid who wants something quick and familiar. Their wallet may not agree but when has money ever gotten in the way of (American) convenience? Parking is easy and the employees are not rude. It's a bit of a harder call for locals to make. With local chains, mom & pops and food trucks at the plenty serving similar quality burger & fries for cheaper, it doesn't make a lot of sense to go with the corporate buy. I know the heart (and stomach) wants what it wants but this economy is no joke. Choose wisely.
