However, I wanted to update my review to reflect my full experience, as my initial 5-star review was written under a bit of pressure. At the register, there's a sign offering a free scoop in exchange for leaving a Yelp review. You're asked to show the cashier your review before receiving the free scoop. What they don't tell you upfront is that you also have to make a purchase to redeem the free scoop. Another thing I noticed is that our ice cream melted noticeably faster than expected. I'm not sure if it's due to the ingredients or something else, but it was something we both experienced. That said, I still recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. They offer a wide variety of flavors, and you do get one free sample per person before deciding. Just keep in mind that the Yelp ratings may be influenced by the free-scoop promotion, the prices are a bit on the higher side because of the location, and the ice cream may melt faster than you're used to. They chatted in Italian for a bit, where he apparently shared with her how Mangiamo is a true, authentic gelato shop. It's a little Italian home away from the mother-land. And he was right! It was a genuine Italian experience. We sat to eat our gelato and it was divine! Heavenly! Fan-freaking-tastic!!! I had the salted caramel gelato; it was creamy and velvety on the tongue, with an explosion of flavor.
