The only reason this lands at 4 stars is the lack of espresso-based drinks. My wife prefers lattes and cappuccinos, so we usually end up splitting up and going to different spots. It was my first time here, so I asked the friendly barista for some suggestions - and after a few questions - he suggested the Philtered Soul Cold Brew, which I got with oat milk. Have to say - it was among the tastiest cuppa cold brew I've ever had! Philtered Soul has just the right amount of creamyness, hazelnut and chocolate to make every sip - delightful. It gave me a good boost of sustained energy for the rest of the day. There was also an assortment of yummy-looking pastries too, but I had just finished with lunch so was just looking for a pick-me-up. There's limited seating inside - but plenty of seating throughout Pacific City. I was able to snag a table right outside the cafe. Service is prompt, friendly, and efficient. The blonde cashier at the front and the food runner with the glasses and Moustache were fantastic. The food came out right away. But every time I come here the drinks take forever. There were people that came in after me that got their drinks first and I only ordered one. Everyone around me cleared out. The lady with the brown hair and the glasses leading the barista bar was not very kind customer service. When they said 5 names in a row and none were me I asked if my name was still coming up and she looked at her receipts for a bit and coldly said it's coming up miss. All of a sudden magically mine was finally next after waiting forever. Not a fan of the barista bar service ever. Slowest I've seen in all of LA and OC of any coffee shop period. I also bought a lot of food and they didn't have any bags. Thus I walked the garage and my food fell bc I was juggling all the loose individual food packages in my hand. Always so popular by the rest, Philz coffee is always greeted with a line. Hubbie and I stopped by the Pacific City location a week back, mostly to validate our parking lol. Hubbie has never tried Philz, but now he is in love. I ordered their Jacob's wonder bar, and hubbie got their aromatic Arabic. It was my first time trying their hot coffee, but man was it good.
