I'm giving this place 5 stars because of **Mrs. Tamara--she is AMAZING!!!** My son has Level 3 autism and is nonverbal, and finding someone who is patient and understanding with him can be difficult. Mrs. Tamara is incredibly kind, patient, and does such a great job with my son. I will gladly drive from Victorville to Fullerton or wherever she goes just for her to cut his hair! If you have a child with autism, special needs, or a child who has a difficult time with haircuts, ask for Mrs. Tamara. She truly makes the experience so much easier. The front desk staff can come across a little annoyed or unwelcoming during check-in, but Mrs. Tamara's kindness and the way she treats my son makes up for it. One of the worst customer experience I have dealt with. We came at 10:30 and was told to come back at 12:15 for an appointment, so we decided to have lunch and come. On our way back, we came at 12:22 only to be told we had to come back at 2pm because we were late for our appointment and it was immediately cancelled. This is utterly frustrating to not be this accommodating. I would not recommend this spot at all. There are so many other kids haircuts in the area that are understanding of parents and kids. read more

Came in for our baby's first haircut! Our stylist Ms. Vanessa was wonderful! She was very gentle with our baby (11 months old). You can tell she is experienced by the way she handled our babys head while she cut his hair. She checked in with us throughout the haircut to see if we needed to cut more hair or stop. Our appointment was at 11 am and we were out by 11:20. We got the first hair cut package which came with a cut, snips of baby's hair and a certificate for $31.95. Definitely a wonderful place to go for the kiddos. the environment makes them feel safe & welcomed; balloons, lollipops, indoor playground, kids tv shows, & cars/fire trucks as chairs. Cleanliness was my biggest issue. Second was when I asked about fixing the front of his forehead she said they don't offer that service. No edge ups. Then as I was paying I over hear one of the other stylists ask the parent do you want the front lined up. Is an edge ups and line up not the same? All in all. I would not come back. I have been taking baby girl here for about 5 years now. Barbie was the first stylist to cut her hair and she still does her hair. I love coming to Barbie she is so sweet, my best friend and her son come here too. They recently got an app so you can book your appointment through the app which is so easy. It's honestly been a little while since baby girl got her hair cut. So finally took her in, summer is coming and all that hair she had was going to make her even more hot. She was so excited, and her hair was long enough that Miss Barbie asked if we wanted to donate her hair to kids who lost their hair from cancer, we said of course we do!! So she put these rubber bands on the amount of hair we were taking off which was a good amount of hair. And she cut it off and so I had to take photos of that lol. Baby girl felt so refreshed and light they have tv's so they turn on Netflix so the kids can choose what they want to watch. They also have a mini slide and play area inside which is so awesome. The parking lot is the same as stater brother's I go to and close to Nobib ice cream shop. I highly recommend Barbie she is so sweet and always does a good job with her hair and now that she is a bit older you have to ask for the fish tail which is a small braid with some temporary color so she chose pink so cute! After she was done they gave her a balloon and lollipop she was so happy with her hair and still is she loves it. I love how confident it made her feel always feels good to get a new hairdo. Ms. Vanessa cut both of my boys' hair. She did a great job and was insanely quick. My toddler hates hair cuts and normally screams at the top of his lungs, but with Ms. Vanessa he didn't even cry. We have brought our 1 year old here twice for haircuts and have had great experiences with the two stylists we had- one was Tamara and one was Ms Helen. Our son was super excited to sit in the car and watch a show while they did his hair. They know how to work fast and always give the perfect cut. It was my daughter's first haircut and Cookie Cutters was just so wonderful about it. We made an appt online and selected our stylist. Kiddo was super nervous going inside and wasn't sure what to expect. Please keep in mind that she is no longer a baby (when most kids get their first haircut) and her hair was very long! No extra charge for the long hair, which I was pleasantly surprised by given the length. They had a small kid playground climbing area, and colorfully painted walls to welcome the children. There was a cute chalkboard area for them to draw, and the chairs were shaped like race cars! They also had regular chairs if you're not a young child, as I understand it they do adult cuts as well. They had televisions going and happily turned on her favorite show on Netflix, and gave her a lollipop to distract her. After she was done, they kept a clip of her baby hair and attached it to a certificate to mark the occasion. The biggest plus was that this certificate featured a very happy smiling girl. Then they handed her and her younger sister a balloon on the way out. What easily could have been a nightmare of an experience was just pleasant and bright because of the kindness of these wonderful people. I cannot thank you enough. I brought my daughter here today originally wanting a quick trim but she ended up chopping off over 5 inches of her hair and I couldn't have been more pleased with our stylist, Tammy. She was awesome! Tammy asked my daughter how she wanted her hair cut and gave suggestions on styles. My daughter was very happy with the end results and this is something I feel is the most important. We were in and out within 30 minutes. Price is very reasonable ($29.99 without wash/blow dry) and they don't charge you "extra" for long hair. First time here, and Barbie was amazing with my kiddo. Not going to lie, we were hesitant since in the past, despite raving reviews, they did not always deliver what's expected. However, we can honestly say we were all pleased at how welcoming and kind and patience Barbie was. My kiddo is not particularly fond of haircuts. Yet, he felt at ease. The small playground inside the salon helped with relaxing him. When it was his turn for the haircut, Barbie explained what he could expect and kept him aware of what was happening and what was next. STAY AWAY from Tamara. This "hairdresser" so badly messed up our daughter's hair I'm embarrassed for the salon. Where is the quality control from management?! Our daughter had curly, elbow length hair and we asked Tamara to cut a few inches off, so that her hair stayed past shoulder length. We absolutely did not get what we asked for; it was above the shoulders and SUPER CHOPPY and UNEVEN. There are portions of noticeably longer hair next to the short hair. YIKES. Extremely Unprofessional and Unwelcoming Experience I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Cookie Cutters today, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal to prevent others from facing the same treatment. I called the shop around 11 am and spoke to someone named Nikole, asking if I could bring in my 18-month-old son for a haircut by Barbie. Nikole mentioned that Barbie was booked but said I could walk in and they might be able to fit us in between appointments. She also mentioned she could do the haircut if Barbie wasn't available. Since their website advertised walk-ins welcome, I decided to go. I arrived at 12 pm, only to be rudely told by Barbie that she was booked and planned to go to lunch after her current customer. Despite this, I politely suggested I could go shopping and return at a more convenient time for them. Barbie, with a changed voice and facial expression, rudely stated, "I don't have time" and said there was no guarantee, but they might be able to do the cut around 2:30 pm, then she coldly told me she could not speak anymore as she has a customer, and there was no one else there to tell me what I should do next. I left to return around 2:30 pm, but I was thinking maybe Nikole could give my son a nice haircut instead of wasting more time so I returned. As I waited for Nikole to finish her current cut, Barbie, with a condescending attitude, asked if she could help me. When I said I wanted to speak to Nikole, Barbie rudely informed me that Nikole also had no time and was going to lunch. When I confronted Barbie about her attitude, she insincerely apologized, saying, "Sorry I made you upset!" But believe me she was not sorry at all as I could see that she was enjoying that conversation with customers. Her rude and unprofessional behavior left me wondering why she felt entitled to speak on behalf of everyone! It was so tacky. To add to the frustration, Barbie was clearly lying about how busy she was. The shop opens at 10 am, yet she claimed to have done 15 haircuts by 12 pm, all while saying she had a 45-minute window for each cut. Can anyone do the math on that? It's impossible. Barbie was just being dramatic, trying to pretend she was much busier than she really was. If the shop cannot accommodate walk-in customers, they should not advertise this service. Furthermore, their hygiene practices are questionable as the time that I was there I could see that they do not clean up their stuff properly after cutting hair. I am extremely disappointed with the service and attitude at Cookie Cutters and will not be returning. I hope this review helps others avoid such a negative experience. read more

As a parent you want to give your child the best first hair cut, and hair cut in general. After researching through Yelp and Google I discovered Cookie Cutters. They have a Baby's 1st hair cut package that comes with a certificate with your child's photo and a piece of their hair. We were so lucky to have Miss Helen assist us today. This was my child's first hair cut so for good reasons he was crying. He felt scared at the unfamiliar environment, didn't want to sit down in the car and was crying the entire time. I made my appointment for 9 am just in case this would happen. Miss Helen let me sit him on my lap and allowed us to assist her as she cut his hair. My husband stood by and watched and helped us when we needed an extra set of hands. But mainly he observed and he said Miss Helen was patient the entire time that she showed no frustration and she was patient with my son. My son had a lot of hair so she had a lot to cut and she did an amazing job even in this environment. She did such a wonderful job and we are so grateful for her. My son looks absolutely adorable and so much older. Now mistakes tend to happen but that's life on my certificate I did notice the date was wrong I did let them know and they happily fixed it. It was super busy, it's Saturday so I figured it would be. All the staff were amazing and were welcoming. Be patient, be kind, and remember that they are human and even if mistakes happen they'll help you. Show them the kindness they show our children and show them the patients they show our children. I plan on making this the location for my son. Overall amazing job and super affordable. 10/10 read more

Our first time here was amazing our hairstylist was Nancy and she was the lady that did my baby's first haircut. But this second time was terrible I had booked it online and selected Nancy to cut my sons hair again but when I got there the lady in the front stated is anyone okay I asked for our lady we had the first time. She says oh she's not here today and so I said anyone, but oh my was that a mistake. After, I felt like the worst mother in the world letting my baby experience what he did, this lady that had done my sons hair today 5/2 was not patient with him nor did she show any emotion. She didn't even clean him up and expected me to do it instead after she was done. She sounded frustrated the whole time and even asked my husband and I if we have anything to help him and kept on telling our baby you are fine mom and dad are here you are fine. I had stated he loves pets and so she replayed it but yet never comforted him or even tried to....like our first hairstylist did. My son was left with his whole face full of his hair, tears running down and terrified, he looked the same as he did when we brought him and I had to fix the mistakes she made when I got home, I paid almost 40 dollars for another lady to do my sons hair for her to not even care. I wish I would have cancelled on the spot but I didn't want to have to bring my 1 year old here another day just because:( I will forever try my best to book with Nancy because she knows how to work with babies and kids! read more

I was looking all over north OC for a place that was experienced in working with kids in the spectrum or with sensory issues. I found this place and decided to call and book since their website states that they work with special needs children and they are open til 7pm during the week. I forgot the name of the lady that answered the phone but she was very friendly and helpful. I explained to her that I took my son to a regular hair salon and that they only trimmed and did not finish the cut because my son started steaming and crying. My daughter has avoided taking my grandson for a hair cut for over a year as he always screams and it is a traumatic experience. That was not the case here. We had Barbie as our stylist. She was so patient and kind. I've been here twice these passed times my son needed a haircut . And let me tell you it was the best decision ever my son would be frighten when it came to haircuts , I'd have to practically beg him to go in the hair salon but when I found cookie cutters he loved it!!! And he enjoyed it especially since they practically include him and talk to him thru the process , he also loves the animals/insects/dinosaurs toys they have around.
