Cookie Dough Creations is heaven on earth. From the adorable shop (love the updated screens by the way) to the pleasant workers, to their amazing treats. I have had ever flavor of cookie dough they sell. My favorites are the CHOCOLATE CHIP- solid, basic flavor, OREO, which if you like oreos you will love this oreo PACKED cookie dough, and CAKE BATTER, tastes like sugar cookie dough with amazing white chocolate cake flavored chunks. Not only do they sell eggless cookie dough but they also have ice cream, shakes and cookies. If you like any of these you need to come and check this place out. If you are one of those people that automatically order the largest size of everything, I'd still recommend ordering the small. I could only eat about half of my small and I have the biggest sweet tooth ever. It made me sad to throw it away. The prices aren't cheap, but it's worth the (money AND calorie) splurge every once in awhile. I believe it was about $10 for two smalls. I ordered the m&m cookie dough with birthday cake ice cream. I'm not that into chocolate or even m&m's but I do like M&M cookie dough for some reason. It was a winning combination. The biggest downside is that they're so busy and there's not much space. Most people opted to go eat outside--even though it was January. The two nice guys working the counter didn't have time to clean the few tables they did have so the tables were pretty sticky, but I couldn't possibly complain because they were working so hard to serve everyone. So Cookie Dough Creations had the brilliant idea to create a product which tastes just like mom's, but without the creepy raw egg factor. Why didn't I think of that? I tried peanut butter, cake batter, chocolate chip and turtle. Verdict? Though cake batter and turtle were tasty, both bordered on the too sweet and sticky for me. My boyfriend and I were in downtown Naperville yesterday, and for the first time in many months, I felt like something sweet and DID NOT suggest we go to Red Mango. They have a lot of yummy-looking ice cream flavors, so it was hard to settle on just one! I ended up getting the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, which was super-rich and creamy and delicious, and my boyfriend went with Moose Tracks. Since we'd never been there before, we weren't entirely sure how cookie dough entered into it. The helpful guy behind the counter told us that we could add a big ole scoop of cookie dough as a topping. AS A TOPPING. I went for it. They have a bunch of different types of cookie dough, too, making for an endless amount of potential flavor combinations: chocolate chip, peanut butter chocolate chip, fudge brownie, M&M, sugar cookie, and a couple more that I'm forgetting. (Oh, and no worries, none of them contain any raw eggs - you can stave off that pesky salmonella poisoning one more day.) And the menu is really confusing. If I'm in a short line, like I was, I want to be able to read the menu quickly. But I finally stopped in here one day while driving down to Peanuts to fetch my credit card from the night before (oops). The dough doesn't have eggs in it, so you are safe from salmonella. You can get just ice cream, just cookie dough, both in several sizes, or you can even get a scoop of cookie dough placed between two cookies and eat a COOKIE DOUGH SANDWICH. They've though of it all, folks. So why 3 stars? I think this is a really great concept and neat idea, but its just not executed very well. The high school kids behind the counter generally look very sour to be there. How can you have a frown on your face when you are handing bowls of cookie dough to people? But that's not even the issue, they could be crying while they serve me or even laughing joyfully, and I'd still have the same issues. #1: The place is cramped and a little gross. You can't see any of the ice creams or doughs until you reach the front of the line, and then its your turn to order! Talk about pressure...they should have this set up a different way. #2: It sounds delicious and all, but after maybe 3-5 bites, it just turns out to be a sugar/dairy overload. I always see people throw away less-than-half-eaten bowls of this stuff, and I'm definitely included in that bunch. The place doesn't totally suck, because I mean, if cookie dough and ice cream together are your thing, then by all means, this is the place for you! And I thought that I would be one of those people, but even a dessert-loving fool such as myself cannot handle this. I think everyone should try this place at least once, just to see. Imagine a place with over a dozen homemade ice cream flavors and a variety of tubs of edible raw cookie dough. It's my dream come true. I'm the guy that eats more of the cookie dough raw than what makes it to the cooking sheet for baking. So of course for my first visit, I had just a small cup of plain brown sugar cookie dough. Now the small size was really quite generous. I could have gotten it with chocolate chips or m&m's. Other cookie dough flavors include peanut butter, s'mores, Oreo and cake batter. The amount you get for the price is pretty good. You dont really need alot of the cookie dough as it is very rich. They have a bigger selection of ice cream than they do cookie dough but that comes as expected (because how many different flavors of cookie dough can you have). They have a nice remodeled soace in the back where you can sit and play any of the abundance of arcade games they have. They only thing keeping this from being five stars is that you can tell that its not made with raw egg. CDC carries Chocolate Shoppe ice cream which is made in WI and absolutely amazing. Not to take away from their delicious cookie dough, but you really cannot beat that ice cream. The combination is simply decadent! Service was friendly, helpful, and very warm. They offered us samples and even a break-down of the CDC "experience" and menu. The staff was all friendly and it made for a great visit. This establishment also keeps great summertime hours - open til 10 or 11 on a Sunday? Yay! Our group tried the turtle cookie dough and the cake batter. Rave reviews from everyone - especially try the cake batter with the blueberry cheesecake icecream. Wowzers! I finally met a dessert item that I could not handle. I visited on a Saturday afternoon after having brunch in the area. I ordered a small moose tracks ice cream with some chocolate chip cookie dough on top. First of all, the service was bad. There was one employee who served a few customers before me. As she was serving another group, another employee came out from the back. He looked at me for a few minutes and we even made some eye contact, but not once did he ask me if I was ready to order. That's just bad service. Two teenage girls came in after me and he started helping them. So, I'm not sure if he just didn't think I was ready, but he could have at least greeted me and asked if I needed help. Second, I mentioned to the employee helping me that I wanted a small amount of cookie dough on top - not a huge helping. She must not have heard me because I got way more cookie dough than I wanted. I ate my ice cream down by the riverwalk and even enlisted the help of my boyfriend who unfortunately does not share my love of sweets. We ate maybe about 30% of it and threw the rest out. Four of us went in and we were not greeted, we kinda stood around confused as the 2 employees stared at us,No one bothered to explain how things worked,but we figured it out.There is a board that tries to explain things,buts its too crowded with various things, they should remove some of the stuff from that board. Came here on recommendation from a friend and after all the hype that the Cookie Dough place in NYC is getting, I wanted to try edible cookie dough for myself. I got 3 small cups to try different flavors- the oreo, peanut butter, and cake batter. The oreo was the owner's recommendation and definitely a great one! By far my favorite of the 3. It had giant chunks of oreos mixed in and the cookie dough was creamy and delicious. The cake batter dough had chunks of frosting mixed in and the cookie dough was also good but a little too sweet for me. The peanut butter dough was fine, and had chocolate chips mixed in, but I was missing the extra crunch that the oreo dough had. From my running free behind the counter after hours I discovered that all the cookie doughs are great and make the ultimate 3am 28 oz gutbomb when converted into a milkshake. I came here and took a few flavors to go for a friend and me to try. We got the chocolate chip, peanut butter, cake batter, and M&M. It was the middle of the day and nobody else was there. I stood for a few minutes to pick out the flavors and the girl working there just waited. She didn't offer to try any of them or anything. It would have been nice to sample a little before I decided on any of them. I ended up getting four flavors but I wish I hadn't got that many. We enjoyed all of the flavors for different reasons. However, we only really needed a few bites and the flavor was too much to eat the whole thing. I ended up eating this over a week.
