Oh Cookie Dough Creations, where have you been all my life?! The BF and I decided to try this place out after reading the reviews on Yelp. Its now the morning after we went and we're still talking about how good it was. We might even go back today! At Cookie Dough Creations, you pick your ice cream flavor from about 15 or 20 choices. The ice cream is Chocolate Shoppe brand, which is one of my favorites from Wisconsin. After you pick out your ice cream, you pick the cookie dough flavor from 7 or 8 choices, including chocolate chip, brown sugar, M&M, oreo, etc. Now, the dough is not small pieces like you would normally get in ice cream. Its the actual dough (sans eggs) slathered on the top of your ice cream. Its heavenly. You can even get a dough sandwich, which is two cookies with the dough in between. The other reviewers are right on that they need to have a smaller size. I couldn't finish mine, and it was the smallest. But, take the rest home because you will be craving it the next day! read more

Words cannot express how excited I was to try this place. Cookie dough? Served like ice cream? Sound the harps and ready my halo, I'm goin' to heaven! Turns out heaven's a better concept than reality. A friend and I both tried two flavors each and felt they were bland (at best) and suffered from severe flavor contamination (at worst). My sugar cookie dough tasted so strongly of maraschino cherries I triple checked the label. I'm rooting for this business, it's one of the few home-grown places unique to our area, so I hope my experience was a one-time deal. Hope to try it again soon! read more

My husband tells me I didn't order correctly which is why I didn't enjoy my order. I was supposed to order both ice cream AND cookie dough, but I didn't.. and only ordered cookie dough (chocolate chip, specifically). And it was just too much! I usually looooooove eating cookie dough, but there was just too much chocolate chip! It can also be a preference thing since I prefer not too have an overabundance of chocolate chip in my dough overall. What a great concept! Why aren't there more of these around...especially in the city! If it weren't for my friend, I would have never knew this place exsisted! It's on a side street and the store is really small. There are about 15 different flavors of ice cream and 7-8 types of cookie dough. I saw they had Brown Sugar cookie dough and was instantly intrigued...I mean for real? It was good but I decided to get the almond chocolate ice cream with the peanut butter dough. I have to say....and I really don't want to....but my ice cream was freezer burnt. I was disappointed, but at least the cookie dough was great! My friend had the original cookie dough and that was tasty too. But it's very rich, so even a small was too big. Where's the junior scoop?! I ended up throwing half of it away :-( Price is kinda steep....over $11 for 2 small scoops, though you do get a lot in one scoop. The guy who was working the counter was super friendly and let us stay past the closing time. Service gets 5 stars! But I did get a tummy ache later that night so hence only 3 stars. We need more places like this in other parts of the country. I've honestly never seen another shop offering this type of dessert (if you know of any, let me know!). As someone with a ridiculous sweet tooth, this is pretty much heaven for me, and has now become a staple of my visits to Chicago. There's not much that needs to be said about this place. To put it succinctly: eggless cookie dough (which tastes exactly like regular cookie dough in this case) + ice cream = ridiculous. Pros: -everything that's edible in this place is delicious -friendly staff -reasonable prices Cons: -You may feel sick afterward due to over consumption If you're not in the mood to stuff yourself or feel guilty for what you just ate, splitting with someone is probably your best bet. Was in Naperville for the very first time yesterday so my mom and I decided to check this place out. When we first got there the open sign wasn't on so I had to peek my head in to make sure they were even open...it is the middle of the day and downtown Naperville is packed with people....make sure your open sign is on....just sayin. When we went in we were not greeted in any friendly manner by the "store manager ". It was clear that we had never been there before by the amount of questions we were asking yet it was like pulling teeth to learn how things worked in the shop, what flavors were recommended, etc. We weren't even offered samples and when we asked, the lady seemed so put out. I finally just decided to get a couple of kid cups of cookie dough and just to make conversation I asked the "store manager " what they used instead of raw egg for the dough and she acted as if I asked her what her income was! She told me that she couldn't tell me because it was a patent and that only she knew. .. I could be wrong but if something has a patent doesn't that mean no one can take the idea from you anyway?? Sorry to break it to you anyway Ms. "Store Manager" but I wouldn't want to sell that dough anyway. .. Promise! Once I received my order (had to ask for lids) she didn't even say goodbye or offer me a to go bag. She just walked away....not a great way to do business or make an impression. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Which did not bode well for me when I went here last week seeing as I have to fit into a prom dress really really soon. Anyway, it's fantastic ice cream and cookie dough (SCOOPS of cookie dough!!). For a general cone, you just choose a type of cookie dough and ice cream and they smack them together. I recommend getting it in a cup so you can mix them together.. I like to do that at least. I love Cookie Dough Creations. Get the small unless you plan on sharing. This place is where diets go to die. It's a typical ice cream shop that also provides chilled scooped cookie dough. The cookie dough comes in a variety of flavors, including my favorite, M&Ms. I highly recommend getting the cookie dough and ice cream together. This place is a really yummy! It's so good you can feel the cavities forming on your teeth. My husband & I end up splitting a scoop of ice cream topped with M&M cookie dough & we're good to go. The cookie dough is a little sticky/gooey for my liking (it has no eggs), but it still tastes pretty good. Since I'm a new mommy, I now pay attention to things like being able to get in to stores, & this storefront is hard to wield a stroller in to, so sorry, 1 star off for that. read more

If the question is: Could this place be any more amazing? Then the answer is: HECK NO!!! Oh my gosh, just the concept alone is enough to make my mouth water! After seeing Jelena (shout out!) rave about it on TV one day (and then subsequently quizzing her about it that same night at an event) I knew I had to try it. Cookie dough you can eat?? Delicious ice cream creations? Amazing cookies? I spent a good ten minutes just looking at all of the options. There was a board of about 20 ice creams that aren't your basic flavors--SO YUM! Also, they have about eight cookie doughs that you eat like ice cream. WOW! I tried all of them and settled on bringing some chocolate chip to go. Next time I am definitely going to rock the cake batter one! I can't wait! I also made a cookie sandwich--I took two different kinds of cookies (peanut butter and white chocolate macadamia nut) and put the cookie dough in the middle for one of the best dessert creations of my life. I hate that I can only give this place two stars. It has so much potential and the two star rating is most likely my fault. I went here with my 9 year old brother and we were so excited to eat some cookie dough. I ended up getting the cookie dough sandwich and he got a small scoop of cookie dough. I HATED my sandwich and ate only two bites before i threw it away. My brother didn't like his cookie dough either. It was just too much. I say that its my fault because we didn't get ice cream mixed with our cookie dough therefore the cookie dough was WAY too much sweet for our liking. So a little FYI, get ice ceam with your cookie dough and I'm sure it'll be a heck of a lot better than what we had. The concept of this place is just genius, and I am in love with it. I always try to bring guests to visit when they come to town. It is definitely rich, but it saves really well in the refrigerator so I like to eat it over the course of a couple days (and I like how my fridge makes it extra cold and a little harder). It's such a special and unusual treat and I can't say enough good things about it. My favorite is the brown sugar, which is pretty much chocolate chip cookie dough minus the chocolate chips, which is always how I preferred it as a kid. We walked the dog over there one night and my boyfriend ran in to get us some cookie dough and me and the dog hung out on the steps outside, chatting with some strangers who also had a dog. He took a big bite out of the stranger's cookie dough (don't worry, we got a replacement for her!), so I think it's safe to say that my dog would also give it a big five stars. read more

My mom and brother were visiting from out of town and we decided to stop in there after dinner. It was a Sunday and Naperville was buzzing but when we walked in the atmosphere of this place was quiet and unpleasant and totally dead. 2 employees sauntered out from in back and didn't even greet us, just stared at us. It was our first time in and we didn't know what to order so I asked a few questions and only got "i don't know, whatever you want" as an answer. The ice cream is very rich and creamy--I chose Coconut Almond and it was full of almonds and had a nice subtle coconut flavor. I opted for chocolate chip cookie dough to be added (because I was reminiscent like that). And the dough was soft and had a great buttery/cookie flavor with lots of chips throughout. I just wish the ice cream and cookie dough could be mixed together--I just had to try to scoop to get a little ice cream and a little dough together for each bite. There were about 15 different flavors of ice cream to choose from and about 7 or 8 different "doughs". The dough is made sans the raw eggs that your mother warned you about whenever you wanted to eat cookie dough or cake batter at home. So safe to eat but still very very rich. This was a great place for my family after dinner one night. My pregnant wife had been complaining about not being able to eat her favorite cookie dough ice cream since she found out she was pregnant. I came across Cookie Dough Creations on accident. Once I realized their cookie dough was not made with eggs I figured I'd surprise her and my 11 year old daughter after dinner one night. It was hard for me to find parking and we had to walk a short block, but it was worth it. The atmosphere is kinda like the old days and the staff was very nice. When my friend told me there was a place where you can get cookie dough in a bowl, I was all in. I think cookie dough is amazing (if you check my profile, you will see that I would request it as a last meal). I will tell you up front though, this stuff is rich, I ate too much and felt ill the next day... but it was SO GOOD while i was eating it. This place has ice cream and cookie dough that you can get literally in scoops in a bowl. There were a lot of choices, to pair different flavors of ice cream with different flavors of cookie dough. I deliberated for a while, all the choices were blowing my mind. But in the end, I figured, "I can have ice cream anywhere, I'm going to have all cookie dough". I ordered a small and got cake batter and brown sugar in the bowl. Even the small was a LOT of cookie dough. I ended up eating it all because it was too good to throw any away, but as I said above that was probably not a smart idea. I would absolutely come here again when I come back to Chicago, but next time, I will get ice cream with it to sort of break up the richness of the dough, or just get a small dough bowl and share with someone. 29 degrees fahrenheit and I was craving whaaaat? Yep. Ice Cream. I usually I hit up a froyo place but I hadn't had ice cream for awhile and it had been ages since I visited Cookie Dough Creations. All I can say is: somethings don't change. The cookie dough and ice cream were still as I remembered them: sweet and sticky. A small cup can definitely be shared by two people but if you're uber hungry you can do it. I always ask for an extra bowl so I eat the beast more effectively and neatly. You know, alternating the cookie dough and ice cream each bite or getting spoonful of equal parts. But eh, that didn't happen. :) I just at my coconut ice cream and doggie bagged my Turtle cookie dough for a some snackage later. Maybe I could eaten it all if I was really hungry or if it was A-mazing, but alas it was just A-OK! The only down side, like any other ice cream place is the price. $4+ for a small.... come on! Told my friends I was in Naperville and once they heard that, all they said was "GO TO COOKIE DOUGH CREATION RIGHT NOW!!" I trusted them and I did have the sweet tooth that night. I thought getting icecream at some Dunkin Donuts was gonna be it for that night, I had to park a couple blocks, because the street parking in their downtown. I want to add, Naperville downtown at night is like another place. All the trees are well lit and together and it felt like that small town where everyone walks together and knows each other. As I walked up the steps, it was a very narrow store. I didn't know how it worked, so this young girl helped us through it. My friend got the cookie dough sandwich with chocolate cookie dough and with a chocolate chip cookie and sugar cookie. I split an oreo cookie dough with a sugar cookie and brownie cookie. To add, the server behind the counter was young and very free-spirited. She even placed a bet with my friend that he couldn't finish a whole cookie dough sandwich by himself..... sadly he did and the girl wrote a nice letter informing everyone that she witnessed the first time of this happening. Seriously? A cup full of cookie dough. Perfect. Absolutely delicious and nothing bad to say about it. The cookie dough is phenomenal and the kids behind the counter are really sweet kids (and I pretty much hate teenagers) the ONLY drawback is that it fills your belly WAY faster than ice cream - but they are happy to give you a lid for your cookie dough to take it home for the next day. So, when I went to go visit the love of my life, I was told by someone else in my company that was from the Naperville-Chicagoland area that I should come here. My partner had one of the creations before, but wasn't sold on this place, on account that the item brought back for him to try was cookie dough sandwiched between two cookies, and its a huge thing. I mean HUGE. But we decided to go and I will say that I was very pleased with this place. It's location couldn't be more perfect (downtown Naperville) and the price is soooo right. It's rather cheap. However, we did not have a cookie dough sandwich, instead we had an ice cream sandwich. They have many flavors and a few different cookies to try. Unfortunately, it started melting 10 minutes or less into our walk, so I had to toss half of it because they give you so much. But given the price, I'd say it's completely worth it. So I told the owner, who was flow controlling the patrons coming in due to C19, that the portion size was not commensurate w the $ paid. He said he would "tell his servers ". Cookie Dough Creations is a really cool and fun place! Their secret is cookie dough with no egg so it is safe to eat. They offer about ten flavors of ice cream and maybe 7-8 types of cookie dough. Their ice cream is pretty decent but their cookie dough is super yummy. It's all very rich and filling so I suggest not eating a big meal before coming here. There is very limited seating in here so you're better off walking around Naperville and finding a bench when the weather is nice. Weekends can get super busy but the lines do typically move fast. I have been here twice and both times were enjoyable. Overall this is a unique and delicious place to visit once in awhile. read more

When we got there the line was fairly long, but it was well worth the wait. Chocolate Shoppe ice cream is always good, but then when you add a scoop of cookie dough to it, it's heaven! They have many flavors of ice cream and many flavors of cookie dough and for under $4, you get a scoop of each. It was so large that some of my friends could not finish theirs. First of all, get a small. I don't mean to tell you to spend less with this local business, but seriously, anytime bigger is just unnecessary. Second of all, they have a lot of combos so think carefully about how your ice cream will mix with your cookie dough, that is the key. You will walk into this little hole in the wall and be greeted by friendly, usually high school, workers who are ready to pack as much ice cream and cookie dough into a small plastic cup as the laws of physics allow... They sometime exceed those very laws. They have about 32 flavors of ice cream to pick from and everything I have had is high quality. They also have 8 flavors of cookie dough. I've only had 3 because the standard cookie dough is so yummy that I haven't seen the new to wander away from it. However, last time I was in, they were temporarily out of standard cookie dough and after crying a lot, I got peanut butter chocolate chip. It was ok. My friend got turtle, which was da bomb, as they said in the 90s. Oh, and they have combinations of things to eat (just ice cream, or cones or 2 real cookies with ice cream in between, etc) but don't be a fool and stick with ice cream topped with freakin cookie dough. read more
