Their special flavors are well thought out and delicious, their standards are perfectly executed (the crackle cookies are AMAZING). Whoa, I can't believe no one's found The Cookie Jar! I love this place. This place has a daily-changing variety of fresh-baked cookies and that's it, only cookies. Cookies are a good size at about 3 1/2-4" diameter and cost $1.25/ea or $15 for a baker's dozen (that's one free cookie). These are far better than a Mrs. Field's or Pepperidge Farms. My favorite's list is pretty long and includes Krackle (a heavenly chocolate cookie that almost resembles a cake or brownie in its extremely soft texture dusted with powdered sugar with or without nuts), Chocolate Chip (who doesn't like a good chocolate chip cookie?), Oatmeal raisin, Snickerdoodle, Sugar, Molasses, Oatmeal coconut...yeah, I think that's about it. I've made an effort to try as many as possible and haven't been disappointed by one yet. They're open till about 8pm I think but be sure to get there by early afternoon or they may run out of your favorite. Also be sure to look at the weekly calendar inside to see what's going to be available on which day. I believe they also do special orders for events and the like so if you need party favors or just a platter of cookies for your kid's birthday party, this is a great way to go. read more

Came in here yesterday and unfortunately it's just not at all what it used to be. Perhaps their under new ownership or something but neither the service nor the cookies were anything to write home about. I remember being able to come in after a late lunch and grabbing up cookies at decent prices and they were succulent and melt in your mouth delicious. I've been going here for years. Always had a good experience and their cookies are always great. This last time I called ahead to make sure they were still open since it was close to closing hours. The worker that answered was friendly and when we came in, he was really nice. He joked with me and my sis and was patient when my sis couldn't make up her mind, explaining ingredients and taste to her. When we left, I noticed about 4 separate customers coming in, there's a sign that said they are hiring. I was surprised with some of the bad reviews. I have been driving by this place for I don't know how long. I finally went in and was greeted by the nicest woman who introduced herself as the sister of the owner. She said that her brother baked all of the cookies on display and she was there to help him out. She helped him out by guiding me to the cookie display....one look and I was hooked. After looking at all of the different cookies, I had to start counting. I needed a baker's dozen to come home with me. The woman behind the counter made sure that I took home THIRTEEN cookies by offering me any taste of any cookie that I wanted. Oh, and the toffee too. (It's a secret family recipe.) The cookies are soft and flavorful. My new favorite, the Diana cookie, was buttery, salty, sweet. The Snickerdoodles were everything that I expect in a doodle. While being very soft, it had this little crunch on the edges with just the right amount of cinnamon. Not too sweet and huge. After looking at other reviews, I think the prices have gone up considerably but I think it's worth it to keep a non-chain in business. These cookies are definitely a treat for me, they are very delicious! My two favorite cookies are the crackle and the white chocolate almond. The cookies do get sweet after a few bites so you definitely need to enjoy them with a glass of milk/water. Keep in mind that certain cookies are only made on specific days. I tried the Rascal (peanut butter and fudge) and the Crackle (chocolate crinkle) cookies for my ice cream sandwich. Both were very soft, chewy, and delicious and best of all, not overly sweet (bear in mind this is coming from someone who has a pretty strong tooth so my definition of overly sweet may not be the same as yours - I do have a limit though!). My issue though is that they ONLY have vanilla ice cream as an option and they don't give you a ton of ice cream (the ice cream part is already pre cut and it's probably 1 cm or less thick). This is in comparison with the giant scoop you would get a CREAM. Granted the cookies here are a tad bigger than the ones at CREAM but as a whole, they are more expensive than CREAM. $1.75 for one cookie (I already balk at cookies over a $1), $3 for a half ice cream sandwich (only one cookie choice allowed) and $4.50 for a full ice cream sandwich (2 cookies of choice). So maybe if I'm nearby I might drop in to get one cookie (and try more flavors since they do have a wide variety) but I'll pass on the ice cream sandwich next time. Also, I should add that the decorations in the shop are really cute and add to the home-y feel! read more

The Cookie Jar is AMAZING!!! (Let me preface this with the knowledge that I am a salty snacker and not much of a sweet eater at all!) Oatmeal Chocolate Chip is where it's at, folks! The cookies are enormous and full of flavor! I brought some home this morning and didn't get around to eating them until later on in the night and guess what? Still moist, still soft, and still deeeeeeeeeelicious as if I'd eaten it right away. Crackle is by far the best chocolate cookie I've ever had. The only way I can describe it is if a brownie and a chocolate cake got together, had a baby, and sprinkled powdered sugar on its head! It's ridiculous how tasty it is. They're also addicting when warmed up a bit and served with ice cream!! It's such the holy grail of fantastic that I only reserve such a treat for the biggest of "must medicate with chocolate" situations. My third and final favorite (it was really hard to narrow it down!) is the Peanut Butter Toffee. I'm not a big peanut butter cookie person and I a lot of sugar ends up making me sick so I was nervous about the sweetness of this cookie. WRONG! It's so buttery and mouthwatering it's not even funny! The peanutbutter is light and rich and the toffee is such a wonderful compliment.The toffee pieces aren't huge and thick so the cookie experience doesn't get caught up in giant toffee rocks getting stuck in your teeth. Numerous times I've gone to pick up one of these cookies and it breaks in half because of how moist and soft it is....yum yum yum!! The Cookie Jar is a MUST visit! The staff makes the experience even better and there's always a conversation to be had. I was impressed with the familiarity the staff had with their customers. Staff is always friendly and interested in how I'm doing and how my day is. The kitchen is visible from the front of the store and it is immaculately clean. Not a single crumb in sight! What a cute little place! The owners are really friendly and helpful. When we walked in the old man was cutting up several samples for someone to try and he offered some to us. Worst experience. I walk inside and I am not greeted. The woman working alone, I swear, stares at me as I try to look at the menu.
