    Dinner set, all for $36.99!

It's a new business model for this location, they offer daily meal set only and the price is very affordable. The set has 3 main dishes with soup and rice. That was enough food for 4 adults for sure, incredibly convenient if you want to go on a budget. My absolute favorite is beef curry, goes really well with white rice.

$36 for 3 dishes, 1 soup and rice - where can you find somewhere cheaper? No where! Also for your first order, it's only $9.90! O R D E R E D * seasonal vegetables * sweet corn fish filet * stir fried pork collar with celery * red dates goji berries & cordyceps flower w/ chicken soup * and rice V E R D I C T This is the perfect home cooking spot without needing you to do the cooking. It's such a good deal for the value you pay. The flavor is just like what my mom would make at home and now, with cooking papa's assistance, I'm able to spend more time with my family instead of spending it in the kitchen. Their service is quick and efficient, when you arrive, you just give them a call and they'll bring the door freshly made out to you. Everything is made to order and nothing is premade making every dish hot and fresh! They're not meant to be dine-in, it's made to order for to-go and you can dine in at home to eat it. Parking can be relatively easy or a bit harder depending on the time of your pick up, of course it can get a bit busy during dinner time and when most people get off work.

This main course was absolutely delicious and generously portioned. The four of us had more than enough to enjoy a truly satisfying meal.

The abalone and chicken hot pot was an absolute delight! This main course was absolutely delicious and generously portioned. The four of us had more than enough to enjoy a truly satisfying meal.

I've been to the physical Cooking Papa location many years ago and just discovered that they have a ghost kitchen right by me. This is quite convenient because you just order and pick up. Plus, they're doing a package where you get three dishes and one soup for just $37. Pretty good deal imo.

Love the family dinner set, tasty and great value! I want to share the amazing set meal we had this past Saturday: Black Pepper Chicken: The chicken pieces were incredibly tender and juicy, with a rich black pepper sauce that packed a punch! The crispy outer layer was perfectly balanced with the moist interior--delicious. Stir-fried Shrimp with Celery: The shrimp were super fresh, firm, and bouncy, while the celery added a nice crunchy bite. A great combo of flavors and textures! Garlic Baby Napa Cabbage: This simple stir-fried napa cabbage was taken to the next level with the addition of garlic. It was light, healthy, and the garlic flavor really made the dish shine, making it the perfect palate cleanser. Mushroom & Seaweed Chicken Soup: This soup was definitely my favorite! The chicken broth was clear and sweet, and the mushrooms and seaweed blended perfectly for a comforting, flavorful bowl. It really warmed me up!

    Website not English friendly

This review is not about the food but about the process of not being able to see the menu in English on the website listed in Yelp ( cookingpapa.us) making it impossible to even order. Everything is written in Chinese, so I ended up calling the number listed on Yelp. After several rings and an automated voice in English saying something to the effect of the call being analyzed by AI . What? Even if AI is the phone attendant is it necessary to make a statement? Anyway a woman answered the phone . I asked if there's a way to see menu in English. She said yes, but first must create an account and log in. . Then find the page to change language to English. Are you kidding me? I'm not going to do that just to view the menu. Plus they require one day advance in order to order. No same day order. So even I created account today, I cannot order today, Well then, bye. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Recently I stopped to pick-up dinner with the plan to have leftovers. I called my order in and was quoted 40 minutes for my order to be ready. My order consisted of salted fish and chicken fried rice (this location has the best around SF and the peninsula), bitter melon beef, chicken chow mein, Thai style fried vermicelli (my favorite dish here), salt and pepper chicken wings. We also received a complimentary bbq pork fried rice. Everything was fantastic and we had plenty of leftovers for a few days.

Big won ton filled w pork and shrimp. Bok choy Broth not much flavor, in a separate container since this was a take-home order. Curry Beef Stew I've never had Curry beef stew before, prefer chicken, curry, but for some odd reason, I decided to order this dish. It was underwhelming and I won't order it again. The Curry sauce itself was OK but the big long pieces of beef were somewhat gross, lots of fat. They added plenty of slices to onions and a few pieces of green pepper and Julienned carrots, but that's about it for being called a stew. So I learned my lesson by not sticking to my usual order, and won't order wonton soup or curry beef stew again.

Staff was friendly and the price was beyond reasonable. However, taste and quality were definitely more aligned to "home cooking" if you know what I mean. ;p Overall, everything tasted REALLY bland and lacked flavors. 1. Skip the congee- tasted like plain water boiled with cooked rice (yuck). 2. The pork chop was dried and lacked flavors. It was overcooked because it was cut toooo thin 3. The stuffed chicken wing was bland, but the sauce kinda made up for it 4. The bitter melon beef was surprisingly delicious. It got "wok hei" which i didn't taste from the other dishes 5. The yee mein noodle tasted REALLY bland. I wonder if it was the same sous chef that made the congee. I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon.

We went to Palette Tea Garden & Dim Sum to celebrate a friend's birthday. I had never been to San…read moreMateo, but I had heard great things about this place's sister restaurant Dragon Beaux in SF (although I have not yet tried it). We got the spicy beef tendon, chilled garlic cucumber, signature half Peking Duck with shaved black truffle, shredded Hainan chicken tacos, the truffle scallop garlic noodles, crab roe fried rice, garlic pea tendrils, sweet & sour kurobuta pork belly, and the honey walnut shrimp. We also had the custard dumplings, matcha milk pudding and mango pudding for dessert. Starting off with the appetizers, the spicy beef tendon was nicely chilled. The beef and noodles were sliced razor thin, creating a really nice texture and mouth feel. The beef was super tender and delicious. The chilled garlic cucumber had a nice snap and had a strong but not overwhelming garlic flavor. The Peking Duck with the shaved black truffle was excellent. The duck was super tender and the skin had been roasted to a nice crispness without being greasy. The Hainan chicken tacos were really flavorful and garlicky, and the chicken was really tender and flavorful. The truffle scallop garlic noodles were also excellent, and had a generous portion of scallops on top. The scallops were super tender and the noodles were cooked nicely with a nice springiness, and were very garlicky. The crab roe fried rice was also very good, and provided a nice pairing to match with some of the other more flavorful dishes. The garlic pea tendrils were also excellent. They were stir fried to perfection and the garlic provided a nice flavor to complement the natural bitterness of the pea tendrils. The sweet and sour pork belly and walnut shrimp were my favorite dishes of the meal. The sweet and sour pork was fried to perfection, and the sweet and sour sauce had a great flavor without feeling cloyingly sweet. It was also a nice touch to add the lychee, which I haven't seen before. The pineapple and peppers also provided flavor contrast and texture. The honey walnut shrimp was super interesting in that it also had strawberries, which I hadn't seen before. The shrimp was truly sublime and had a generous helping of walnuts and strawberries. I wouldn't have expected it, but the strawberries paired beautifully with the dish, providing another layer of flavor and increasing the complexity of the sweet/savory nature of the dish. The desserts were really fun and interesting. The custard dumplings were delicious, served nice and hot, and the custard had a nice richness and sweetness. The matcha milk puddings were really cute, although I only tried the mango pudding, which was really delicious. It had a nice mango flavor with a nice topping that provided textural contrast. Overall, we absolutely loved our experience. The food was phenomenal, but the service was even better. All of the staff were super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!
