    Mango Sogo
    Miranda L.

Stumbled on this place when walking around the Vanness street area and my friend told me they always have fun deals. The current one when we went was buy one get one free for a black milk tea. You order from the kiosk when entering and they have options from teas to fruit drinks. Our orders came out very quickly, about 10 minutes after, since mine was blended. Mango Sogo - It seems that they use fresh fruit in their drinks as I had a small mango peel in mine but it didn't matter because the drink was the perfect balance of refreshing and sweetness. The blended mango smoothie with the toppings of fresh mango, sago and coconut jellies meshed so well. My friends also really enjoyed their black milk tea and soft boba. I highly recommend checking them out as their drinks all taste great and have the cutest designs on their drink lids.

I really love how they use fresh fruit in their teas and smoothies. However, because of this sometimes their smoothies can be very different in any given day. For me, this is definitely a chance I take because the fresh fruit smoothies are refreshing and delicious. The fresh fruit teas are very nice on a warm summer day. They have an online order option which is nice because I can order ahead and just pick up my drink. This is overall a very nice tiny boba shop that I enjoy getting during my work day.

    Watermelon juice with boba

I really like that they actually use fresh fruit in their drinks! I got a watermelon juice with boba, and watched them cut open a fresh watermelon for the juice. Way too many places douse their drinks with sugary syrups and instant sugary powders. It's fresh stuff here! Drinks aren't inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I actually don't mind paying more for quality. Again, they're using fresh fruit. Boba was on point too. Nice and chewy, but not too soft. And none of that hard center. Service was pleasant and efficient. No seating. Essentially a grab and go spot with boba, smoothies, fruit lattes, teas, poke bowls, etc. Only downside is parking. Mainly street parking, which can be difficult. After circling a few times, I got street parking. There's a parking garage directly across the street, but it's $8.00/hour. Not at all trendy or hip, but fresh stuff. I'd go back.

    Mango sago with crystal boba

Everything is fresh!! And it's a cool little spot! I love the mango sago lol got it once cant stop coming back for it Service! Love it the first time I came here the guy who made my drink asked me very detailed questions for me to be satisfied bc I didn't know what i wanted ‍ Prices are very reasonable!!

    Durian latte
    Cece L.

Durian latte was good! It's kinda pricey (over $9 with tax) and charged $.50 for both nondairy and decaf. It's not too sweet -- in fact I wish it was a little sweeter. I wish there was more durian which would add a bit more sweetness. But it's real fruit which is great, and the drink is so unique and creamy. Definitely worth the try! The interior of the place has a few chairs, but seems more like a grab and go spot.

Taro Bubble Mill Tea and Watermelon Slushie Boba

This is in a convenient location and the inside of the place is so clean and well styled. The service was fantastic, there was not a long wait and I was able to custom order some drinks. Everything tasted amazing and it's affordable. I highly recommend coming here!

The worker there is so nice! He really cared and asked what we wanted. He used good detail and care into making the drinks. I will definitely be coming back to try out others

They just opened downstairs from my work! True test to a good boba are the balls of course! They do their balls right! It's not too mushy and not too hard. They have buy 2 get one free deal on all drinks except the lattes

    Durian latte with soy milk

I've seen this place all over tik tok and they just so happened to open one underneath my office building. I am not a huge espresso drinker but I wanted to try the durian latte. I got it with soy milk. I overheard that they use Italian espresso. The durian chunks are fresh and sweet and it was *almost* well balanced with the espresso. Personally, I'd like a little more sweetener because the durian is the only sweet thing in the latte, but that's also because I'm no avid coffee drinker! I am so excited to go back again and would try a different flavor. My coworker got the avocado latte with whole milk. While she loved how fresh the drink was, she wished there was more espresso in it. It really just depends on the person and what they like to drink. The man behind the counter was so nice and wanted to make sure that my drink tasted perfect. I loved small seating area and the premises was clean and tidy.

I had some fresh squeezed orange juice which was amazing. But at $7, its not cheep and they don't have a toilet.

I hope cool bar does well. I've tried the mango sago (my favorite) and it is really fresh, full of mango flavor, and just sweet and tangy enough. I've also tried the poke (pictured) and musubi and it's pretty good and tasty for a reasonably price. The smoothies here are the star the show and they also sell fresh fruit that they use for a good deal! Worth a try,

Over-salted cheese and egg croissant and missing my extra egg I paid for.
    Maile W.

Had order online to pick up my order since it's near work. Had ordered their cheese and egg croissant with an extra egg and a watermelon blueberry smoothie. I know it was going to take at least 10 min since it stated on their online ordering system. So by placing the order around 1330 hrs and the given time wait of 10min with a text confirming that my order should be ready by 1341hrs for pick up. I gave them an extra 10 minutes just to be safe and when I went to go pick it up. They didn't even make my order at all and didn't even know an order came through until I should them my order and text confirmation. Had to wait for another 10 minutes to get my order. Smoothie is always pretty good so I didn't have to work about that. However, the cheese and egg croissant is a huge huge huge disappointment. I had paid for an extra egg, opened it up and there was only one egg. I was cheated out of what I paid for. And to add it on top, when I took a bite it tasted like I took a sip of salt water. Sadly I don't think I would be buying their food items again.

I fell in love with their creative, artisanal drinks right away. The store itself was clean and welcoming. My favorites are the Crème Brûlée Milk Tea and Matcha Toffee. They're both signature drinks and the matcha and toffee balance each other so well. The toffee does get stuck in your teeth, but it adds a nice crunch to your drink. I recommend getting their drinks in either oat or macadamia milk! Their honey boba was fresh with the perfect texture. I don't recommend driving here unless you're okay with parking a few blocks away. I prefer this location over San Jose because their drinks are more consistent. Nowadays, you can order through the self-serve kiosk. Their seasonal drinks are definitely worth trying! There was a Pandan Strawberry Corn milk drink that was pretty refreshing :)

The line was long, waited about 10 minutes for the ordering system, because it's by machine now. Then waited another 15 minutes for the drinks. There were a bunch of teeny boppers in front of me ordering drinks (6-8ish), so it took a bit. I ordered a house milk tea with 25% sugar. Honestly it just tasted like ash. No creamy tasting like other boba places. Not sure what their house cream was but it wasn't creamy or rich in flavor. Big disappointment. My husband got the crème brulee milk tea and that tasted even worst. It just tasted like bitter burnt pudding. Some sweetness once you get pass the pudding. Not sure who made the drinks but it was not good. The boba however was nice and soft. Not sure if it's the day or the rush of hella orders, but I normally judge a boba place by their basic milk tea and that day it was not good. And maybe that's not what to order? Not sure. But willing to try again on another time.

There is no seating located in this particular cafe but plenty of outdoor seating directly outside. The general area can be pretty crowded due to the other store fronts within the mall so if you want a more relaxed matcha tea shop to do work or relax it would be better to order and then leave. Service: They have both a kiosk and a barista taking orders. Staff were friendly and working efficiently and quickly to fill the orders as they were being placed. Wait time: Generally depends on when you go since Japantown mall is a heavily toured area by locals and visitors to the Bay Area but I'd say roughly 10-15 minutes max from standing in line to receiving your drink. Food: The matcha ice cream has a deep matcha flavor with a nice concentration of powder which can be tasted in the soft serve. They also top the soft serve with a light dusting of matcha powder to further enhance the flavors. The cone was soft and light with a gentle sweetness that pairs really well against with the earthiness of the matcha.

Overall, I thought it was good. Not something that completely amazed me, but definitely worth trying if you already enjoy matcha desserts. The biggest strength here is definitely the matcha flavor itself. A lot of matcha desserts nowadays are overly sweet to the point where you can barely taste the tea anymore, but here you can still clearly taste the earthy matcha flavor with a slight bitterness that makes it feel more authentic. The sweetness level was balanced well, so it never became overwhelming or too heavy by the end. If you prefer Japanese-style matcha flavors that actually taste like tea instead of pure sugar, you'll probably appreciate this place more than many trendy dessert spots. I tried one of their matcha soft serve items, and the texture was smooth and creamy without feeling overly rich. The matcha flavor stayed noticeable from the first bite all the way to the end instead of fading away after a few spoonfuls. Everything paired together nicely, and overall it felt like a lighter, more refreshing dessert. Especially after eating ramen or heavier food nearby in Japantown, it was actually a pretty nice way to finish the meal. The shop itself is fairly small, but clean and simple, with the typical Japantown dessert shop atmosphere. It feels more like a quick stop for dessert while walking around rather than a café where you sit for hours, but it fits the neighborhood well. The location is also super convenient if you're already shopping or exploring Japantown. Overall, I'd say it's a solid and reliable matcha dessert place. The matcha flavor is definitely there, and the quality feels consistent, but it wasn't something so incredible that I'd make a special trip just for it. Still, if you already like matcha or happen to be in Japantown, I think it's definitely worth stopping by and trying once.
