I've been going to sidewalk since high school. They were the first place I tried an acai bowl years ago, and how I rate them when I get one anywhere else. I really like their base, it's never too frozen or icey. I enjoy the flavor a lot. My favorite is the berry bowl, and I add almond butter, granola, and honey. I also really like their smoothies. The perfect consistency without being too thick or watery. Service is always very friendly even when they're busy. I'll always love sidewalk juice.

I was on the search for a place to grab a juice or a smoothie on an early weekday evening. So many places were closed. As I was just strolling down Valencia and crossing the street, I happened to turn around and see this place. It was open and the signage really caught my eye. I ran back through the crosswalk to check out their menu. I really loved the variety of options and the price was pretty good! I had a bit of a chat with the staff and they were so pleasant and friendly to talk to! Before I left they mentioned I would love my drink and that was a very correct statement! I definitely recommend.

Acai bowl

Tasty acai bowl! I got the original bowl with a twister base (half pitaya and half açaí). The pitaya is the red/purple/pink flesh variety which is my favorite. I must admit, Acai bowls from the west coast are better than the east... the fruit was fresh and the toppings were good but granola was want not the best granola I've had. I wish it included Nutella and was a little bigger. Probably not as good as a mom and pop shop but the chain was conveniently located and I would come back!

Came by recently to grab a juice. This Sidewalk Juice is literally right by the sidewalk with a takeout window. Ambiance: Super convenient, friendly and fast service. Love the Green Energy drink and they were so nice to customize it for me so that I opted out a certain ingredient. Located on 21st St and Valencia.

El Niño smoothie

A Fresh Grab-and-Go Delight. Sidewalk Juice delivers exactly what its name promises--freshly made juices and smoothies served right from the sidewalk. The vibrant energy of this spot is unmistakable, with a giant menu boldly displayed on the wall, making it easy to browse their diverse offerings. The staff greets you warmly at the serving window, adding to the experience. While it's strictly grab-and-go (no bathrooms or seating), the quality more than makes up for the lack of frills. I had the pleasure of trying their El Niño smoothie, and wow--what a treat! Each ingredient bursts with freshness, and the ginger? Absolute perfection. Its bold, zesty kick ties the whole drink together beautifully. I also spotted their enticing açaí bowls, which are next on my must-try list. Simply put, you can't go wrong here. It's been ages since I've had a smoothie this good--definitely worth a visit!

Only two people in the store, one only taking orders, too long of a wait for a juice. The juice is ok but not worth the wait.

Ask the Community - Sidewalk Juice

Anyone know if this business is still open for takeout orders? Can't get a voicemail or answering machine with information advising if they are or not. Thanks in advance!

They're open for walk in orders. I got a smoothie recently and I saw they're also still making acai bowls so full menu. Hours are limited though. They close at 5pm.

Fox Tale Fermentation Project - Funk Bowl w/ Red House Kimchi ($18)

Absolutely one of the most unique spots in downtown San Jose. Fox Tale Fermentation Project somehow…read moremanages to feel like an experimental brewery and community gathering space all at once. The fermentation concept is woven into everything from the beers and botanical mocktails to the food and it actually works incredibly well. The drinks are creative without feeling gimmicky, and the flavors are layered and thoughtful. The food was surprisingly memorable too, especially how vegetable-forward dishes still felt rich and satisfying. The atmosphere has this warm, artsy, almost hidden-gem energy that makes you want to stay for hours. What really stands out is that the place feels intentional. You can tell the owners care deeply about craft, community, and creating an experience instead of just another brewery. Easily one of the coolest and most distinctive food/drink concepts in San Jose right now.

Fox Tale Fermentation is a small place like a Japanese ramen shop. My high school classmate suggestion this place and I thought she was vegetarian. I asked her why this place; she wanted to try it out but she's a meat eater. I'm down to try new places so we went. When we went, it was really crowded for a Thursday dinner time. A lady saw my cane and offer her table to sit at so I felt seen. You pretty much order at the front counter; you pour your own water. Front counter was so nice to us as we try to order. We got the funk salad and kombucha. We didn't order a lot because we wanted to try the place. When we got to our table, it was near the door. Our funk salad came and it was hefty mf. It was a bowl of salad all right. So you know how I said earlier that I don't like vegetarian food? OMG I was amazed. The best salad I've eaten. The vinaigrette was so good; it was citrusy. My salad was cut into small pieces so it wasn't big that I need to cut it. The sweet potato was sauteed. The princess sauerkraut was so good. I don't like sauerkraut at all but it was divine. I never tried kombucha because I thought it was dirt tea. I was wrong. It has the fermented taste and I never knew. After trying it, it's not something I would order again. I liked how I was eating "healthy" food after I ate bad yesterday. I don't have that bad bloated feeling. It's very wheelchair friendly and restroom is unisex. The restroom is clean. The establishment is clean. I would go here again if I have a vegetarian visitor. This place rocks!

Right when you walk in, the vibe feels welcoming and easygoing--perfect for groups or even a casual solo stop. The space has a great indoor/outdoor setup, so you can choose between a lively indoor atmosphere or a more relaxed patio feel depending on your mood. There are also a few TVs around, making it a solid spot to catch a game while hanging out. What really stood out was their impressive selection--30+ beers and seltzers on tap, with a little bit of everything for all tastes. Whether you're into hazy IPAs, crisp lagers, or something lighter like a seltzer, there's plenty to explore. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to walk us through options and offer recommendations without any pressure. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. On top of that, they also stock a nice variety of bottles and cans in the fridge, which is great if you want to try something different or grab something to-go. It adds a bit of a curated bottle shop feel to the experience. They also serve some light bites like empanadas and pizza, which paired well with the drinks and made it easy to settle in for a while without needing to leave for food. It's not a full restaurant, but definitely enough to keep everyone satisfied. Overall, this is a great spot to kick back, celebrate with friends, or just explore new craft beers. Easygoing atmosphere, solid drink selection, and friendly service--definitely a place I'd come back to.
