We never tried Cool Hand Luke's so we thought we'd stop in for dinner. They have a very limited beer and wine selection, none of which appealed to me, so I drank water. The salads were fine and the ribs and prime rib were good. The overall feeling I got was that the restaurant needed a deep cleaning, nothing in particular was dirty, just the result of serving so much smoked/grilled meat over time. Service was cordial and efficient. Not sure if we'll be back.

Came here for a late night dessert run. The Mile High Chocolate Cake was so delicious, incredibly moist, decadently chocolate without being too dense in your mouth. Would get again. The whipped cream was nice and thick not the thin consistency spray from a bottle type. The strawberry pie was addicting to eat because of the fruity strawberry but this probably had the lowest execution as the body of the strawberry pie was not cream cheese or custard but a light texture mix of the two. The strawberry syrup was a tad bit thin and artificial in consistency. The cookie was yummy but not very well made. It was thick, hardened butter cookie. The blend of the ice cream saved it. I wouldn't get the cookie or strawberry pie next time and they're both equals in my eye so if you're deciding between the two just go for presence of the day.

This place has great food. Big portions and a fun atmosphere. Our food was cooked to perfection. Great flavor and great service. I definitely recommend coming here. Great date night or bring the whole family lots of room for big party's. Family friendly with a delicious menu.

This is my first time dining in the Paso Robles area, I don't usually like to eat by myself when I go out to eat, but tonight I did. And I'm really glad I did! My server's name was April and she was absolutely amazing, the hostess was very kind and caring, and even the other people were very sweet. Despite me eating by myself, I didn't feel so lonely! The hospitality was on point and the service was impeccable! The food was absolutely delicious and the meat on those ribs pulled off the bone perfectly . You could come here with your family or even by yourself and still have a good time! I'm really glad that I chose to come and thank you April for giving me an amazing time! Hope to go again soon.

Read the reviews had to check out the hype. You absolutely MUST go during happy hour and get the combo meal deals for like $20 bucks or less. It will save you so much from the standard dinner menu. Wish we snagged that deal but we came 30 minutes late after it ended.

We sat in the bar area and were served by Tina. She did a great job making recommendations. We started with her HH bacon wrapped shrimp. The HH menu offers great food and drink specials all day. We shared a rib/steak combo that came with salad, bread, beans, and broccoli. The bread comes from a local bakery. The beans are made in house. I highly recommend this restaurant for good food at fair prices.

Filet mignon texture to show that it's stringy

One star and that's being kind....I wish I could give negative. After a long drive from Orange County to Paso Robles all we were looking for was a delicious meal to end our night and start our weekend getaway off to a great start. Unfortunately we picked the wrong spot. Cool Hand Lukes sounded like they would be a great place for a steak. The reviews weren't great, but we thought...let's give it a try maybe they were just having a bad day. We should have listened. One yelper had stated in a review the place looked like it needed a deep cleaning and boy does it. I saw dust and cobwebs everywhere. We sat in a booth that would accommodate maybe 4-6 people but I had to scooch all the way in because there was a giant tear in the seat and I didn't want to sit in the hole! I ordered the steak bites which came in a skillet with baby bella mushrooms. This was actually pretty good, the toast it was served with was a bit cold but the steak and mushrooms had great flavor although a lot of the steak pieces were kind of burnt so I didn't get much food for $38. My husband on the other hand ordered a filet mignon medium and when it arrived it was well done. We aren't ones to complain and send food back but he pointed it out to the waiter who asked well you can keep that steak and I'll give you a discount or I can bring you a new steak. We don't care much about the cost. We will pay for a great meal happily. My husband just wanted to enjoy his meal. He asked for a new steak. The "new" steak came out medium RARE, it was also stringy. I am not sure how a filet can even be stringy but this was. My husband also said the steak tasted "off" like it was old or maybe just at the point where the meat was about to turn. He was so grossed out that that officially ended our night there. We asked for the bill. Our waiter, Alex, who must have seen our faces and my husband's plate let us know he gave us a discount. 20%, which was nice of him but I wish he had paid more attention to the food he was bringing out to us from the kitchen. You would think a place charging $50 for a steak would ensure the meat is quality and its being cooked to your preference. My husband, who is a steak and potatoes man all the way, said this was by far the WORST steak he had ever had. He in fact, felt a bit ill all weekend and blamed the little bit of steak he had eaten for this. We would not ever come back to Cool Hand Lukes and honestly are a bit surprised a place with somewhat abysmal reviews in still in service. If you decide to eat here all I can say is...GOOD LUCK!

Not a far stretch, it was around 7 blocks away from our hotel. The front is adorned in BOLD LETTERS - STEAKHOUSE. I saw it as we drove by, and I knew we'd be going there. The current place has a kind of "cowboy" theme. It isn't too in your face, very subtle. We sat down and water and a nice loaf of bread with salted butter were quickly provided. The bread was very good, nice crust, nice and warm, and the salted butter (salt on top of the butter) was very tasty. The waiter offered a bottle of wine which wasn't on the wine list - a Jordan Cabernet (in PASO???? Jordan is a Napa Valley winery - ZOUNDS!) from 2021, so I jumped at the chance for that! My wife and I both ordered their 7 ounce filet, medium rare, she with the Broccolini and myself with the carrots. After dinner, I ordered a chocolate tort, which was very tasty. The important stuff: The steaks were cooked and seasoned properly and were delicious and tender. The sides were delicious. The service was excellent. What's not to like?

I opted for an espresso martini, perfect to keep the night going since we had a dinner reservation a little bit later. After the espresso tini my boyfriend and I shared another cocktail and also got a side of broccolini to snack on, because what says bar snack like broccolini? Would definitely come back here to try out the dinner menu, and of course for drinks again!

And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.

The instructions posted on the wall do not match the buttons on the remote. We ended up doing a web search for the unit's instruction manual. That's pretty sad. These things should be more intuitive. We liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. The downside to our room was that it was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry our things up the stairs since there was no elevator. Do ask for a ground floor if you want to avoid walking up stairs. I became more mindful of these details in recent years when husband suffered from shortness of breath and had a challenging time doing stairs. The property looks nice with several different buildings surrounding a center common grassy lawn area with curved walkways & mini bridge next to their herb garden and koi pond. There are little fish and some ginormous ones in their koi pond. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. It was easy to find parking near our room. The grounds look lovely from your room or from a distance. But we noticed dog poop on the grass when we wanted to walk over to one of the sofas in the grassy area. BE CAREFUL when walking on the grassy parts. People who bring pets here are not mindful about cleaning up after their pets. This is in stark contrast to our stay at Cambria Shores Inn during the previous days (a pet friendly hotel with lots of little dogs staying and no dog poop messes in the outdoor common areas). I guess the pet owners who stay at Cambria Shores Inn are more respectful than the ones who stay here at Paso Robles Inn. Another thing about the outdoor seating is that they look great from a distance, but their uncleanliness can be seen once you walk closer. They were dirty and there was even one set of sofas that had poop on them. It's as if the hotel staff does not go around and wipe the cushions down each day (which I have seen hotel staff do at other hotels and it truly makes a difference). It looks like a nice place to sit & relax outside, but doesn't really work out that way in practice. Hotel is conveniently located near shops & restaurants. The one challenge is crossing Spring St. which is way busier than I ever imagined it to be before booking a room here. LOL The downtown area is pleasant, and you don't need to drive anywhere unless you're visiting a nearby winery.
