On our way to Sonoma/Napa Valley, we spent the night in Paso Robles and made sure to go back to Blast & Brew. We were here over 4 years ago. Of course I remember hanging out here to watch the Dodgers clinch the World Series back in 2020!!! Still the same great comfort food as we remember. We split a Blast & Bleu burger in a toasted brioche with sweet potato fries, which was fantastic. We loved the crispy onion straws in it and the aioli on the side. We tried this place after seeing Rustic Fire Pizza was closed last night. The food selection and beer selection are incredible! The chili is one of the best ever. The salads are good and so are the pizzas. The service was good, given they were way under staffed. They only had two people serving and the place was close to full. Special shout out to our server, Zack, who worked his tail off and was super calm and helpful. Also, shout out to the other server and the kitchen staff!!! The owner may want to address the short staffing issue or risk people not wanting to wait so long once seated. That is a simple fix since everything else there is great! read more

Took a group of 8 here yesterday, Sunday, before noon. One waitress in the restaurant. Hardly any other patrons. Ordered drinks and then meals shortly after. Then the problems began. After a long wait, one order came out. Several minutes latter 3 more orders, a few minutes and then two more orders then another and after first meals were consumed the final order for tri tip tacos came out over 45 minutes from the time the orders were made. Total disorganization. Fries were cold, hamburgers were under cooked etc. etc. this place used to be good. Enjoyed going there because they had tater tots on the menu. They've been taken off, they used to have blue cheese bacon burgers, gone like the tots. We only seen one waitress until afternoon when a second one came. Only seen one cooking the kitchen. Overall, not the quality it used to be. With all the restaurant options in Paso Robles, Blast and Brew will have to step it up to compete. read more

Made a pit stop in Paso Robles and stumbled upon Blast & Brew. We were looking for the drink menu and then noticed the beer wall. We were so amazed to learn about the concept of self serving beer from the tap. It was such a fun experience tasting the different beers and a few select wines they had. A good setup to watch sports and with a great location downtown. Enjoyed the self-serve beers and wine, but several of the beer taps were empty. Probably more expensive to get a full glass here than other places due to the way they charge down to the .1 oz, but my wife liked trying a partial glass of a few different things. We ordered the steak nachos (terrible), sweet potato fries (quite good!), and an Italian pizza (average). It all came pretty quickly, even though the place was reasonably full of football fans on a Saturday afternoon. I would come here again to watch sports, but I would probably eat somewhere else first. read more

Tap beer. Count me in! Came to Paso for my bf's birthday weekend with a large group on Labor Day weekend 2024. We needed seating for a large party so this was the perfect place. They had everything for everyone. A little bit of everything. I love that they had a bunch of beers but many were out so it was not as fun as we anticipated when we first walked in. They are priced high as well, so the fun ended quickly. The food here is decent but the food took forever to get made. Great hang out spot but def cannot handle a large party on the day we went. The hang over was kicking in and everyone was getting irritable. What was supposed to be a fun day out just turned into long waits and disappointment. Okay mixed feelings here. It is your classic and small chain restaurant that has a nice beer selection and bar food. What I liked, and my mostly IPA beer drinking husband, was the self-pour tap room wall. They give you a small plastic card that registers how much you pour per ounce, per glass. They say they have beer and wine; trust me, I'm a wine drinker, they have a very narrow 4 or 5 selections of wines. Nothing you'd want to drink. I became a Beer Drinker that night! What is really cool; As you are working the tap you can see the price per ounce of each beer or wine, as you fill it up to your desired level you will see the total price of your pour! Sorta like filling up your gas tank. You will know exactly what you're paying for the amount of beer or wine you put in your glass. My husband ordered the tri-tip sandwich and he loved it. His fries were excellent as well. My grilled chicken sandwich not so much. I bit into the sandwich, it was grilled to bits. It tasted almost like I guess what sawdust would taste. I felt really badly because the waiter was just wonderful. Really couldn't say enough about his friendly greeting trying to serve us. In fact, I wasn't going to say anything, but my husband mentioned it to the waiter. He offered to replace the sandwich. I was sort of done and full. The onion rings were good, not super, but good. Our wonderful waiter brought the bill and comped us my entire meal. I told him no, but he said yes. Of course I made up some of the difference in his tip. Bottom line; I'll come back. Our waiter did say they're mostly a pizza place. My husband will order his Tri tip and I will share my pizza with him. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the tap wall. I will next time. Very disappointed. With not many tables, my friend and my lunch took close to 30 minutes to come out. Perhaps their lunch kitchen staff is under-manned, but it took far longer than we expected. My friend's French Dip burger looked 200% better for 4 bucks more, than my Spicy Italian Roasted Sub. The only thing I tasted was the vinaigrette, when I expected the blend of Italian meats. Each sandwich came with a portion of semi warm fries, pfff. The beer was not very cold, which was another drawback. It's a great spot for a sports bar atmosphere, but I don't know much else to give accolades to. read more

Wonderful place! 6 of us had lunch here last Saturday. The food was delicious! We had everything from Burgers to Pizza to a salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal! The burgers were perfectly cooked juicy and had lots of delicious flavor! The pizza was very cheesy and the crust was wonderful and chewy! The salad had very fresh greens on it and my wife enjoyed it immensely! The service was top notch! Never an empty water glass and everyone there was so nice and personable! Visited 29 July 2022 We planned on going to another restaurant right across the street but apparently they were booked from all the people visiting for the fair. No big deal. Blast & Brew had a wings and wine special that day (Wednesday) so we took advantage of that. We were seated indoors pretty quickly upon entering. Our server, Brenn provided us with the wine/beer card then took our orders. We all got wings. Since this is a "choose your own adventure" type of restaurant with regard to the beers and wines, we each went to the wall to select our drinks using the cards we were provided. The beer wall is stocked with numerous local and domestic craft beers and local wines. I don't remember if anything was imported. What's cool about the wall is each beer or wine gives you a brief description and you can taste something that piques your interest before committing to it. Once we were done deciding on our drinks, we headed back to our table. Shortly after we sat down with our drinks, our wings arrived. I got a split of garlic and hot wings. All the wings were fairly big but they were cooked just right. They were all nice and crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, just how I like it. But, of the two flavours, I preferred the garlic, especially the garlic shreds that were added to the top. This was my second visit here and I would definitely go back. Highly recommend. read more

By the time the server came by to ask how everything was, I was almost done with it and too late to ask.
