My half of the smoked pork cubano and what's left of the mosaic pale ale
    Bill L.

Surprise find on the way back to highway 101 from a visit to see the wildflowers at Carrizo National Monument. We needed a bio break and to stretch our legs. We came upon the intersection that Longbranch sits at and decided to check it out. Glad we did. We split the Smoked Pork Cuban Sandwich with fries and a pint of their rotating beer on tap. The sandwich was so good! Had a little zing at the end of each bite from the banana peppers included on the bottom. We both loved it. The beer was a Mosaic Pale Ale from a local SLO brewery called "There doesn't exist" We sat outside in their patio section, the weather was perfect. We learned our 3:30p Sunday arrival meant that we missed the live music they have on Sundays from noon-3pm. Bummer Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely return if it was along the path of our future travels.

Any bar that has dollar bills stuck to the ceiling is a vibe that makes me appreciate stories told, friends made, and hangovers earned.

I love a good dive bar and while the rustic vibe here is authentic, the food elevates the Longbranch Saloon far above your average dive bar. Folks rave about their food and they are right. Burgers are outstanding and the steak bites in chimichurri sauce rivaled higher end restaurants. I'll be back just for their food! The beer selection is good (Topa Topa Chief Peak and Level Line!). The staff is super friendly and efficient. AND they have live music which is a big bonus. Go check out the Longbranch. You will not be disappointed.

Smoked brisket nachos - I'm dreaming of you. More bbq on the weekends, ya'll. They do run out. It's serious. Get there!

Oh wow, what a find! Not far off the 101, this authentic and historic roadhouse was a delightful spot for lunch and beer. We shared the smoked brisket nachos and a couple of cold drafts. The nachos were crisp with a generous portion of delicious smoked brisket. They had a cheese sauce that would make a French saucier proud, super fresh guacamole and a scattering of black beans. Crisp and perfectly covered to the last bite of this stack of heaven. Our compliments to the kitchen! Our server was so welcoming and took great care of us. The outside patio is huge and hosts bands March - December. Longbranch in Historic Creston, we'll be back to try more of your menu items and enjoy your patio on a warmer day.

When we first arrived, it seemed to be a tiny hole in the wall restaurant. Then once we got in there and found a large and nice outdoor seating area, very relaxing and comfortable. The food and beer are delicious. It's a nice stop on the way to the Carrizo national preserve.

Short rib, burger special recommended by Kristy. Totally amazing and out of this world.

My buddy and I decided we wanted a good burger, so he suggested this place and it was out of this world. Came in here for lunch yesterday and we're welcomed right off the bat from a nice lady named Kristy. Very pleasant, served us two beers that she recommended and they were very tasty. She even recommended the lunch special, best burger I've had in a while. It was a beef patty with short ribs. Very fresh and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was very nostalgic. Then we met Megan, another server. She's the one that brought us our food. She gave us some amazing sauce to go with our burger, had a little kick to it, which I really enjoyed. Most of all, the staff was amazing. They definitely have my business. Wish I lived closer, I would definitely eat her every day and enjoy a nice cold beer in that 85° weather, lol. Thank you staff for making my visit. Amazing!

Super busy when I got here so I had to wait a bit for my food but nonetheless the food was fantastic! Had some chips and salsa to starts and the salsa was amazing! For my entree I had the short rib burger which was very tasty! My server was Kristy and she was very friendly and helpful when recommending items from the menu. I will definitely return when I come visit the area again. They also have a house cat that hangs out outside and he joined me for my dinner. His name is Obie.

This place has suchhhh great food. EXCEPT for the pretzel I would just skip it tastes like you microwaved a frozen pretzel. Other than that really good food options. This is a great place to hangout and vibe and have some drinks. I love how it feels western and small town. All we needed was some live music! Overall a really cool spot and I recommend trying it out if you are nearby!

Creston is a small country town that is a perfect spot for locals, and a great pit stop for folks out wine tasting. Don't let the saloon part of the name fool ya, because this is a fully operational restaurant. Plenty of seating for couples or large groups with the option of indoor or outdoor, the Longbranch offers a menu of items for any taste. Salads, burgers, sandwiches, and bites are sure to be on someone's craving list. I ordered the Short Rib Burger and had not had a burger like this in a long time. I requested it be cooked medium, and did not expect the juicy, flavor-bomb I got with my first bite. Lettuce, Tomato, and dill chips accompany it, with french fries. Little sides of burger sauce and ketchup are provided as well. Be sure to enter through the front to have the host/ess seat you. They'll take good care of you. I look forward to revisiting and trying more of their offerings.

Ask the Community - Longbranch Saloon

Are dogs allowed in the outside dining area?

Absolutely. We've taken our Aussie there, and have seen many other dogs there!

Is there parking that will accommodate an RV?

The actual restaurant lot is small - however across the street is a much larger area. Since this location is "rural" you will have options to park your bigger vehicle.

I would like to try this place, but I am wondering if I can find something on the menu which will comply with my food allergies. Is the chef friendly and open to special requests or modifications of any menu items?

They are very friendly at Fast Cat Coffee Bar! They would appreciate you asking!

    What is their phone number?

We had a great new waiter who was a young g male with dark hair, tall thin and had the popular "Lama" young men's hair style. He was very accommodating as I laid out my requests. Based on past errors from the female waiters I knew what I needed to specifically ask for. As usual they were understaffed. I feel so bad for the staff here. Management shorts staffing to boost profits. It makes dining here stressful and definitely not a relaxed dining experience. Staff other best but they almost literally have to run to keep up with demand Usually there's no busboy either or maybe 1 for inside and out. Dishes always pile up More bad. Don't ever order the prime rib if it's not Saturday. We think my daughter's was cooked on Saturday, served at full price on Sunday but leftovers and was dry and tough. It's costly too. She discovers it back this time as she didn't want to wait another hour for something else. The salads are usually great but this evening they were half salads. Like they ran short and skimped on each one. Onion rings are always good. I dip mine in their salsa. Others catsup or ranch. The ribs were not good -- 2 full racks. The meat was very tough like eating dry pork chops not tender and good. My friend happened to be having her husband's 75th birthday party there toward the end of our meal they showed up. An extra table for about 12 had been added on the grass area at the end of outside the patio. With folding metal chairs. They did NOT staff for the extra seating and my friend texted me after we left that they waited a full HOUR to even get waters!! This is not acceptable. I don't feel that anything will improve until some time that this restaurant is sold and has new management. I just wish that someone would open another steakhouse in North County and provide good service. Apparently we will never see adequate staffing at Loading Chute. So until there's another option we keep coming back. I miss McClintocks in downtown Paso. Finally one last note. I'm a sparkling wine drinker and I love the Wycliffe Sparkling they serve. It's not dry and so delicious. Just perfect and inexpensive too. Win win.

I've been wanting to get back there again for dinner...Cash or Check NO credit cards but since I knew that I figured $80 bucks would cover my dinner and the tip, and it did. I was Sat immediately, we were earlyish and I took a deuce along the wall. I ordered soda water and with that a nice selection of fresh bread was brought to my table, with a pound of whipped butter...yummy. After musing the menu, two starters and a salad, caesar and the special, an expensive protein....I ordered a caesar salad and the pasta with a grass fed high end ground beef meatball with a lite marinara sauce. The caesar had two filets of white anchovy. The salad was basically a third of a trimmed Romaine stalk with caesar dressing and shaved parmesan with the anchovy. It was my job to cut the lettuce into bite size pieces and blend in the dressing, based on the price I thought the work was done. Then the hyped pasta special arrived, the meatball was nearly the size of a tennis ball. Wow, Okay, Rigatoni graced the edges. I had to cut the meatball into bite size pieces...what's with this having to cut everything meal tonight...I was not impressed! Well the prized beef ball was tasteless, in fact it was a tho a kid made a large hamburger ball and baked it for an hour in the oven Tough, not juicy, no flavor, note to self - no more specials at the range. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. Delicious it was a Fresh berries cobbler without the cobble, friggin delicious....and that's how I left the range tonight. Sure I'll be back and bring a friend enjoy and share tastes of each other choices so I'm not so focused, and to split the bill too. See Ya. foodguy-martin
