I rent my townhouse through Locations Property Management, Inc., and was recently informed that the AC unit in the master bedroom had stopped working. Locations contacted Cool Living LLC for repairs. Cool Living came by and, after just 10 minutes, said the unit needed to be completely replaced. I was charged $235.60 for that brief visit, and then given a replacement estimate of $2,303.66. That seemed extremely high, so I did some research and contacted other companies myself. One reputable company quoted me $1,100 for the same scope of work--using a comparable LG 12,000 BTU (LW1222IVSM) unit. I had 4 units installed in my house back in 2017 at the request (demand) of my very pregnant wife. They worked BEAUTIFULLY. Just recently however began having a lot of trouble with one of the units (living room/heavy use.) So I called and scheduled a grossly overdue annual service (the first one I've scheduled) last week for today. The technician (John) arrived on time, presented himself professionally, and set about his work. I told him what money we had set aside for his visit, and he "triaged" my units to that amount we had readied for the expense and recommended future course of action. John explained every thing he was doing every step of the way. Even when I felt awkward watching him work, he reassured me that he didn't mind and shared his perspective on customers watching his labor; "you only sweat if you don't know what you're doing." I would HIGHLY recommend John by name, but truth be told, every technician we have interacted from Cool Living has been phenomenal. Can not recommend them enough! Our central AC went out on a Friday PM at 5:00, of course after hours for most businesses. I couldn't get a hold of these guys, who installed our wonderful Rheem 16 seer (couldn't live without it!) and do our routine AC maintenance. They did get back to me first thing the next week, but due to a hot and humid spell, they could not get us on the schedule until Thursday PM. Luckily, someone canceled on Tuesday, Jon was at our house about half an hour later. I don't normally submit reviews unless truly deserved. And In this case, is a very well deserved one. A friend recommended I reach out to Cool Living after experiencing top notch service among his family members and his own household. And I'm glad I followed up with his recommendation, as I've had such terrible experiences among previous A/C service businesses who had the worst customer service and follow up for the better -or should I say worst part of a month. In contrast, Cool Living has such awesome customer service and follow up! They were the most understanding of my angst of a leaky split a/c system and the woes of a long awaited repair that didn't seem to be met until they came along. Let me tell you why. Chastity was very patient, understanding and willing to help set up an appointment as soon as possible to get my a/c system checked out after I had undergone such terrible, uncomfortable, extremely frustrating experience from another company unable to meet my needs and expectations. She was able to schedule a diagnostic test the following day. Brandon and Mark arrived earlier than scheduled which was great! Upon their arrival, I explained that a previous company had ran their diagnostic test and confirmed that there was a leak in one of 3 rooms determined by a dye that the technician "injected" into the system. Even though I had explained that there had been very noticeable hissing coming from the unit in the next room. Brandon and Mark went straight to the "said" system that was leaking (which did not make a hissing noise) and did not notice any evidence of any dye in the system leading to a leak. So I thought that was very odd because the previous company identified it as the leaking unit. My frustration spiked once I got that information. So, Brandon went ahead and injected another round of their dye, recharge refrigerant to further confirm and locate the leak. A few days later my system started to lose its cooling capability. Brandon was able to follow up the next day to investigate for a leak in all systems to locate any signs from the dye. And indeed found it to be on the unit that was making the most obvious signs of leak -loud hissing, with evidence of the dye to further confirm. I was relieved that the leak was found outside of the walls. Otherwise it would have been a more invasive investigation. I was appreciative of Brandon's diligence, honesty and attention to detail. He also tried to clean up some of the gunk build up on the outside condenser unit. They were then able to schedule a follow up to repair/replace an evaporator coil within the next couple of days after confirming the part's availability -which was a huge relief. Especially having to struggle to get answers from the previous company that did not at all give me status updates of it's availability for the span of a month! Until the guys at Cool living showed up and got the job done and cleaned up nice. From initial inquiry to final repair, took a week in total. My family and I are totally relieved, appreciative and in cool comfort again since they had resolved our a/c issue. They are an honest, diligent, detailed, understanding, cohesive company/team! My downstairs A/C failed again after just over a year of having the indoor coil replaced. I contacted them and was given an estimate for the repair. I told them that it wasn't right as the same part failed again. Francis took charge and told my wife that there would be no charge for the repair and he would contact the manufacturer about it. It's hard for us being on a "fixed income" on SS and he understood and wanted to help us. I appreciate it immensely as it's probably nothing they did wrong but they still stood behind the work that was done previously. Cool Living LLC. came out to install our new Mitsubishi split air units. We called them at the beginning of the week to setup a quote and to our surprise by the Saturday of that same week we were enjoying the coldness of our new Mitsubishi units. We expected to have to wait several weeks to have them come back to do a install but was surprised when they said they could squeeze us in for that same week on Saturday. They were able to get us feeling comfortable and beating the summer heat just in time to our delight. When Francis(Operation Manager) out that week to give us our quote he was very friendly and genuine. He was able to accommodate our work schedules and came in the late afternoon and on time. Bare in mind Cool Living wasn't the first contractors we called and received quotes from so expectations were set, but let's just say he exceeded and went above and beyond. While he walked over the layout of the house and came up with options for designing the layout for the Mitsubishi split air units he always emphasized something that was aesthetically pleasing. Which in my books is a major plus. You wouldn't want someone installing your split air units, that your going to have to look at for a long time, that doesn't look right from the inside of your house as well as from the outside of your house. Francis also was the only one who gave us the option on installing our lower living room unit on an interior wall that maybe wasn't the easiest install but made for an "aesthetically" pleasing look and would create and cleaner look from the front of the house. Which we were all for. That pretty much sealed the deal for us. The day of install, the Cool Living crew was here first thing in the morning and on time. Everyone was respectful and friendly. They worked clean and efficiently making sure after they worked in a area to clean up after themselves to leave it clean or cleaner then it was before they got there. It took them about 6 hours to finish the install and in no time the house was cool and comfortable. The Mitsubishi split air system cools our living rooms down so fast, there indoor unit is super quiet. And the outdoor unit is also very quiet, you can barely tell it's on when your by it. Overall if you looking for a company with super competitive pricing, who takes pride in what there doing, cares about your home just as much as you do and cares about how to make it aesthetically pleasing to make you happy and have you satisfied at the end. Isaac and Josh were at my house bright and early for what we all just knew would be a quick and easy job. Many hours (and dollars) later, they had discovered the root of the problem with my air conditioners, and had fixed and cleaned everything. I thought that my filters were dirty. I originally hired Cool Living to come and clean them for me. I have 5 units inside, run by three outside units, so it is a bit too much for me to do a thorough job on my own. I'll be honest, I called them at random, because I had a coupon in the mail. I'm so happy that my snap decision was a positive experience. Josh was new to the job, and while Isaac is young, his experience showed. He was patient and thorough in showing the various aspects of the job at hand, and Josh was easily able to do what needed to be done in a way that made his customer (me!) happy. He was quite willing to show me what he was doing as well, and explain where each wire connected. By the end of the day, my air conditioner had a new circuit board and I had a new appreciation for the workings of my system. We had Cool Living LLC install a Fujitsu split-system AC our home. They were amazing-- we called and expected to wait several weeks to schedule an estimate, and another few weeks to have the units installed. However, much to our delight, they managed to fit us in right away. Francis gave us an estimate that weekend, and once we said yes, the team was installing our units THAT WEEK. When Francis came out to do the estimate and design the system to fit the layout of the house, he had several suggestions that made for a more aesthetically pleasing install. We had a few companies submit estimates, but Cool Living LLC had the best estimate and the best design -- hands down. We could not be more pleased. The team that came to the house was professional, courteous, friendly and hardworking. They were on-time, neat, tidy, respectful of our house (they took off their shoes) and they cleaned up after themselves. Every piece of rubbish from the install, and I mean everything- left with them. They didn't leave us with a ton of empty boxes to dispose of. I know those things (shoes and garbage) may not mean a lot to some folks-- but we don't have curbside recycling in our area of Lanikai, so we would have had to haul all those empty boxes to a recycling center. And we don't wear shoes in the house, so they took off their shoes at the door without us asking. Plus, the install went SMOOTH. Everyone knew what to do, and they got it done. I didn't hear the workers making a fuss or cursing because things weren't going according to plan or getting mad at each other. They were a cohesive team that knew how to work well together. It didn't take too long for the team to have the units installed. I think it took about 5 hours, and in no time we were sitting in cool comfort. The temperature in the house came down so quickly, it was awesome. As for the AC units outside-- they are super quiet, we can barely hear them. And they keep the house at a steady temperature. It's wonderful. Oh-- and Cool Living LLC is an Elite Distributor for Fujitsu split-system AC units-- so if you have them install your AC system, you get an extra 2 years on your warranty. Seriously-- check the Fujitsu website. A 12 year warranty-- it doesn't get any better. We signed up for their annual cleaning and maintenance service, so they will call to schedule cleanings every year. We don't have to keep track of anything, they will do it for us. It doesn't get any better. If you are looking to install an air conditioning system in your home, we highly recommend Cool Living LLC. Called to schedule an appointment for water dripping from the ac drain pipe. Their earliest appointment was 1 week out. The lady that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. My appointment was in the afternoon but Cool Living finished their other jobs early so they called me to see if they could arrive early to the appointment, which worked out great. The tech that arrived was friendly and helpful in explaining my ac issue, and went into the hot attic to blow out the drain pipe and remove any excess waster in the pan. My home is equipped with a central air system in Ewa. I run it 24/7. So far they've come out twice (every 6 months) to service me. My problem is that my p-traps would get clogged and leak through my ceiling. This totally sucks. Now this problem has my dry wall all wonky.
