Very professional and they did really nice work. We had three old wall (window) units taken out and three new ones put in. The Friedrich units are great and the larger living room unit is so quiet and cools the apartment so fast. Aaron and Sheldon installed new frames and even painted the outdoor trim for us! They were super friendly and efficient! Aaron advised that we can contact them for cleaning maintenance on the units and that was great to hear. Thank you A&E! 6/21/21 I looked on Yelp to find someone who could troubleshoot my AC ...today. There's a quote feature on Yelp, so when I typed in a request more than one business contacted me. That was easier than searching viable businesses in the area. One of the other challenges that I have is finding solid companies servicing the Waianae area. Usually businesses work within the radius of where they reside. After the Yelp message, I followed up with Paula on the phone. She asked as many questions as we could answer regarding the system which is great because we both wanted a successful mission! A few hours later she was able to dispatch Aaron to the house. He was personable and relatable. He explained what was the problem in non technician terms. He gave a couple of troubleshooting pointers for the future and recommended a realistic servicing of HVAC. Diagnostic price was cheaper than another company by $70. Labor was reasonable. Invoice was sent on my phone and paid via their app. Easy peasy. Paula followed up again to ask if everything was ok! I needed to replace a through the wall A/C which was smaller than what Lowes and HD carried, so I requested a quote. A&E AC was the quickest to respond, and Paula, after a consult with photos, located a suitable one and scheduled me. Sheldon and Aaron's installation included creating a frame inside and out, cutting wood, filling screw holes, and actually painting the frames. I was floored! I couldn't believe the excellent customer service! Aaron even noticed a fluorescent fixture without bulbs and got it working so I wouldn't trip, he said! I called another AC company Rutan Refrigeration to do unclogging of my central ac drain. Later that day after they serviced my AC the unit shut down and I couldn't restart it. I called them multiple times to return to my house to trouble shoot what happened because myAC was running fine all the way up to the day the serviced it. Finally I was able to contact Rutan Refrigeration after 3 days of constant calls and they sent a technician back out. They said I had a blown transformer in the attic and will need to order parts. I called them a thousand time in the next 5 days and they said they are still searching for vendors for the part and will call me back if they find the part with a quote. I called a thousand more times requesting status with no luck. They simply ignored or screened my calls. I called with a different phone and they answered. When they answered they said they still can't find the transformer part that's why they didn't call me back. My friend who knew a little about central ACs said Cosco air conditioning and even Home Depot has that. So makes no sense they can't source the part. My friend ended up helping me install the new transformer. They had a full shelf of those for $15. Yet somehow Rutan made like it was extremely hard to find and that it wasn't available locally. This is where A&E air conditioning comes in. I reached out to other vendors on Yelp to just get this fixed once and for all since Rutan wouldn't answer phone or return messages. Within 1 hr Aaron called me backed inquiring about what happened. I explained to him the above situation and that we would like him to come out to my place to check out the AC since me and my friend are not professionals. I sent him pics of our transformer and thermostat and had several phone calls with him bc we couldn't figure out why only the fan was firing on but the compressor wouldn't start. Aaron knew immediately what the problem was and instead of coming to the appointment and collecting a diagnosis fee he walked me thru the fix and got it to work. He was so honest and good guy to tell us what wire we had wrong. He could have easily made a quick buck out of us but he didn't! Next AC repair I'm definitely going to Aaron and A&E air conditioning. Called, texted, or emailed three other AC businesses, one of which I had previously purchased an AC from and one that had previously serviced an AC for me. None of the three answered their phones after several days of calling them. All three said to leave a message "after the beep". However, I couldn't leave voice mails for two of them because the mail boxes were always full; one I was able to leave a message but never heard back from them. None of the three responded to my numerous emails they encouraged me to send and I was beginning to panic that I wouldn't be able to deal with my AC in the time frame required by my condo! The first time I called A&E Air Conditioning the phone was answered by a very helpful woman who, after hearing what I was looking for, said she would have some call me to set things up. The next day I received a call from Paula. I explained to her that my building is being painted so I needed to have the AC out of the window on certain dates. I told her my AC was about 8 years old and I wanted to replace it rather than see if it could be serviced. She confirmed that they had a comparable unit in stock and set a removal date for the old unit and an install date for the new one. She emailed an estimate that I was very happy with and, after I made the required deposit, the dates were both confirmed and the AC unit reserved for me! Now I'm all set and worry free!
