    Palani & Owen did an outstanding job replacing the outside cable covering(s) for our split ac units. They were old, worn and birds were constantly pecking and creating gaps for nests etc. They were both so nice, hard working, and respectful of our property. I so appreciate that they cleaned up after the job was completed. Mahalo Standard Air & staff (Ashley, Chris) for providing excellent service, information regarding work involved and the cost. Mahalo Palani & Owen for a job well done. I am so happy.

    Standard Air is a (5) Star Company! It was a pleasure working with many of the staff at Standard Air. Ashley was very informative about their products and services. She actually educated me more than any other company that I contacted and gave me straightforward pricing over the phone with no hidden costs. Palani, the owner, was also very informative when he came out for my site visit. I was very impressed with the company's reputation for having a great product and an honest approach. The installers also did a really great job installing everything. I am loving the new AC split units installed. I 100% recommend their product and services.     Chris came out to do a deep coil cleaning on our mini split unit. He was on time and very professional. He explained to us what he will be doing as well as showed us where the issues were at. Our ac head unit was crazy dirty but Chris did a great job cleaning it out for us. Definitely would recommend Chris and Standard Air in the future.

    Originally we had a neighbor lined up who day job is AC install. He had us set up with a good deal. But! Wife just wasn't sitting well and wanted a contractor. So, Standard Air had some truly great customer reviews. So they came, gave estimate, wife was sold on the product warranty . Price point, also was on point of unit and install. They showed up on schedule, punctuality my personal pet peeve! They hit it and worked on routing that we wanted if electrical, drain and location of condenser. We asked their professional opinion, and they said do able! . They did a great job of installing, shared information on care and the "possibles", but this wasn't our first system, but did get some new info we didn't know as well. Timely install and nice completion, as well as clean up. On my list of high recommends for " you ask me" I say YES!!! They are good!!! BTW- We had a 30k BTU Unit installed and loving it!!!

    Just had our bedroom split AC unit serviced for the first time since we bought it about 5 years ago…read more(oops). It was feeling not quite as cold and the fan seemed like it was working a little harder, so I wanted to get it cleaned before the hot summer months hit! I *hate* making phone calls, but the receptionist was SUPER nice, so that immediately put me at ease. Their quote was flat rate and very reasonable so I was happy I wouldn't be guessing how much it would come to at the end. She apologized for not being able to get me in the week I called but was able to fit me in the next week - which was faster than I had expected! The technician came at the quoted time and took about an hour, which is how long they had told me on the phone. It says something about other companies on island that this is a noteworthy comment! He was very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. He showed me the visible spots he had cleaned, but the best thing is now our AC is back to being icy cold - I had to bump it up to make it warmer! - and it smells nice and clean. I paid in cash (there is a fee if you use card. You can also write a check if you prefer). We will definitely be happy to use this company again in the future!

She's knowledgeable, kind, and doesn't rush you off the phone. She seriously takes time for each customer to make sure the problem gets solved. Also, thanks to Damon for working with us. We're the type of family to pick a company and stick with them forever and I'm so happy we found this company for our AC needs. Although ACs are expensive, they always work with us to find the best solution to the issues we are having. They've been doing our cleanings and repairs for years now. Just wanted to say mahalo!

    Fast and detailed responses. I was given a tentative quote for a cleaning on my split units after…read moregiving them the necessary information. It was not the cheapest but I was impressed by their timely responses and no sales pitch. Very straightforward. I was given several dates and times to choose from and they scheduled me. Two techs showed up, a little early which was perfect, they got right to it. Super polite, took their shoes off. My AC's were filthy and gross. They cleaned and sanitized without leaving any mess behind. My refrigerant was low with a suspected leak, however that will have to be a next month problem. They urged me to top off and fix the leak as soon as possible and let me know what would happen if I didn't fix it soon. Message received and understood. Thank you Ultimate Air Conditioning! I'll be in touch next month! Ps: the AC was cold before but it is extremely cold and feels super clean now. Shot out to Kimberly for the quick and painless quote and scheduling and to Keahi and Levi for the amazing service and advice!

    Updated Review (05/08/2026): Woke up this morning to a wet spot on my couch. Can you guess what…read morecaused it? Our a/c is still leaking, even after someone was sent to remedy the situation. This is so unacceptable. I paid over $400 to get my a/c cleaned, and now I'll probably be stuck with an even bigger bill to get it repaired or replaced since something is clearly wrong with it now after this company 'cleaned' my a/c units. Buyer beware. Further Update (05/08/2026): The company contacted me via text, and it is clear they are not capable of properly assessing an a/c system prior to beginning a service nor are they capable of handling systems that drain into a single drain line. A quick Google search indicates that two a/c units sharing a single drain is not uncommon, so I fear for others who have the same type of system as me. While they remained professional in their communications at first (which was the primary reason for my initial revised 4-star review), it is apparent that they do not have the knowledge or skills to properly complete the job for which they are hired and they aren't willing to take accountability for damage that they caused. If they didn't know how to handle a system like ours, then they should not have performed the service in the first place. Our a/c units were in perfect working condition (no issues, no leaks) before they came to 'clean' it for us. We've scheduled to have another company assess the damage and repair it for us, which will now cost hundreds of dollars more than the initial cleaning cost. For this reason, it is not hard to see why a customer would give a 1-star review and a strong 'do not recommend' warning to others.     Air conditioning repair in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Our chapel felt like a sweatbox. Several people played with the remote control, but no one could get the temperature lower. I think the air conditioning wasn't working for about a week, but yesterday was the last straw. Father Adondee looked at me and said, "You'd better call someone." "Yes, Father!" I looked on my Yelp app for air conditioning repair and Jimmys AC Repair & Maintenance was the first business that popped up. This company had good reviews, so I called and they answered the phone right away. I told them that we were suffering and needed help. The receptionist said they would be there the next day... He stated that there's a flat fee of $250 plus tax to diagnose the unit. Okay... Thank you!!! Jimmy called before he came over. He was very professional and efficient. He introduced us to Jeff, his coworker that he was training. Cool! We showed them the unit. They opened the panel, and diagnosed the problem quickly! He explained everything well and understood that we would have to go through the Finance Council to approve a new air-conditioning unit. Jimmy understood that it would take time and that if we wanted to get other quotes and compare, other companies could be cheaper and that he's not the cheapest... but you get what you pay for... Thank you so much for your promptness, knowledge, and help! We appreciate the cash discount and will keep in touch!

After I explained the situation, he told me straight up that sending someone out would likely cost more than the unit was worth and that any company willing to do so would probably just be taking my money. He also patiently answered my safety questions instead of trying to scare me into a service call. I honestly can't remember the last time a repair technician talked me out of spending money. It was one of the most refreshingly honest interactions I've had with any service professional. Jimmy earned my trust in a single conversation, and that says a lot.
