It's hard to explain in words what a great experience working w/Jonathan and Color Vision Painting was for the exterior paint job of my house. I had gotten three bids and Jonathan's was very competitive. But what sold me was my conversation with him when he came out to talk about the job and the actual presentation of the contract/agreement. It was top notch, super professional. But during the walk through, he was also very knowledgeable and had a particular attention to the details of my house that none of the other contractors that came out had. I was 100% sold. As for the actual work, the guys that work for Jonathan are the absolute best. VERY skilled at what they do, very professional and very friendly and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better couple of workers. They were very respectful for me, my property and my neighbor's property. And the job they did was impeccable. I have a pretty big house, but there was virtually not a single drop of paint out of paint. Just a remarkable job. If you're looking for a contractor for your paint job, don't keep looking. Just give Color Vision Painting a call and you'll be set!

Painted my house Black & White!

Painted my home and it looks amazing!! Thank you Color Vision for doing a great job! We have received many compliments on how this turned out:)

    Before - Front Of House

My mom had used Color Vision to paint her house as many of her neighbors had in the Carousel tract homes in Carson due to the Shell Oil lawsuit. There, you can see the results of Color Visions work on many of the homes. Upon finding out about Color Vision, I contacted Jonathan Alvarez who came to my home and gave me a quote within 24 hours. A very good price was given to paint using up to 3 colors, fix some stucco issues, stain my backyard gate, and do a foam window molding around my front window. Jonathan and his crew showed up the morning of the start date and began work, tearing out bad stucco and old brickwork, prepping cracks in the stucco, patchwork and some window seal repair work. Once we gave him our color selection they painted the whole house in about 2 days. We are very happy with the workmanship and the colors, we feel like we are living in a new house! Thank you Jonathan and crew for your expert craftsmanship as shown in the pictures. On a side note, about 10 years ago I used a company, BMV Contruction, to paint my house. They do substandard work using substandard materials and do not honor their "lifetime warranty". It would have cost me more money to hire an attorney and sue rather than to just get my house repainted. DO NOT USE BMV CONSTRUCTION. I will be leaving a Yelp review for them as well.

I don't like this company. After painting my property, they leave the trash in my trash can, and tell me it is not their trash, especially the owner, Jonhaton, when he wants the job, everything is so nice after everything is turn sour. Don't believe his words. I had bad experience with this company. I accidentally deleted some pictures, the trash all full in 4 trash cans. Before start the job , please write extra contract what Jonhnaton said which job he will do for your paint project. I told him some place of paint is not look nice but he ever fix it . Be aware with this guy

It hasn't looked this good for a long time

I got several estimates for painting exterior of my house. Color Vision's was less than some, not others but very competitive. I didn't see too many reviews for exterior painting but Jonathan Alvarez assured me that they do it all. He took a look and noticed some minor things that needed to be done like screening on a metal screen door and offered to do them as part of the job. He was even able to paint behind a very long stretch of continuous (1-piece) gutter on my 2 story house by unclipping a short gutter segment from attachment, painting behind it then reclipping it. Other painting contractors were afraid of getting into that. He provided a very detailed description of work and repeatedly said "you will be happy with the result." I had a good feel for him, saw his positive reviews and decided to use Color Vision. The crew consisted of a 40-ish painter and two young guys who were his son and nephew. Those young painters were professional, worked very hard and knew their stuff so don't let their age fool you. It was encouraging to see them talking with Jonathan who it was clear they had good relationship with -- no grumblers or malcontents among them and they seemed to enjoy one another's presence. My conclusion was that they were good people as well as being skilled. They prepped for days before starting any painting, finished on schedule and the result was as Jonathan promised and very good. I'm going to use Color Vision again and am in the process of getting an estimate for patio and driveway staining/sealing from them.

He made himself available the next day and plastered the wall with a first coat. Next day he came back, sanded, added a finish coat and after a couple hours returned again to complete the finished sanding. The result was pristine. Throughout the process, Luis was responsive, professional and efficient. He will be my go to guy for drywall in the future!

Over the years I have been doing DIY fixing of more bad spots around the house but I also work so I was never going to get around to all of it. I decided to call Luis back recently because I didn't want to do it myself anymore and I want to repaint fresh non-patchy walls. I hired Luis to reskim two bedrooms and two accent walls and some other miscellaneous spots that I added after he started working at my house. Luis was at my house for 3 half-days (1.5 in total) before telling me he was finished with the walls. I was (still) happy as a clam at that point and paid him in full for what was completed, fully trusting that the work was done skillfully based on my prior experience. (He was coming back one more time to finish the misc. stuff that I added on and I would pay for that part then.) Anyway, imagine my horror when I checked on his "finished" work and saw imperfections everywhere and tons of sanding dust still left behind on the walls, switches, and even mud on the door knobs. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves from here with brief descriptions of what's being shown. -Pictures 1-3: Some of the imperfections from the first time Luis said he was "finished." -Picture 4: His first fix-it visit(half day). He was supposed to find all the imperfections and patch them (the yellow highlighter spots), except he was patching bubbles with more bubbles. I had to patch all the spots again with my own compound and added a ton of other ones that he missed. Took me two full nights. -Pictures 5&6: His second fix-it and final visit (another half day). He was supposed to sand over all the patches and walls to leave them with a smooth & uniform finish that's ready for primer & paint. This was how I found them after he left. I sent him these pictures and told him to not come back as I had given him 2 chances to fix and he failed both times. There was no response from him. -Picture 7: I made only a partial payment of the balance on Luis' last visit because part of the remaining work was him making the corners of a ceiling overhang crisp, the corners are crisp but somehow the overhang is now squiggly when that wasn't the problem before. -Picture 8: I had taped up all my trims before Luis came as I didn't want any mud/compound to get on them, but I thought my crown molding were safe. They were not. He had busted them pretty badly with his electric sander in 7 spots and dinged them in at least 10 other spots but those were minor and I was able to superglue them back together. I did take on the repair of the major dings myself because I wanted to tape all of it up before he came back for more sanding. Luis and I had good rapport and I actually liked talking to him, but once the job took a turn for the worse, he never acknowledged that he didn't do a good enough job. He instead said things like, 1. "You're not supposed to look at the walls with a light from the side like that" and "I've never seen anyone look at a wall like you." --Yes, technically he's right, walls usually have paint on them which would have made these imperfections painfully obvious even when looking at them straight on, but until there is paint, this is how drywallers check for imperfections and fix them before they get permanently sealed with paint. (I had two painters (who also skim coat) come over for quotes and this was how they both checked to see how much prep work they would have to do before painting). 2. "I could fix these walls 10 times and something will still come up."--it really shouldn't if he did it right the first time, he's supposed to be a professional, not a DIYer like me. 3. "You've got to be kidding me. I'm at a point where I want to just refund your money and get out of this insanity"--after he came and saw all the patches I added to the walls (that he missed). I know what he was trying to imply and still gave him my electric sander to use so he could finish the job. With all that said, guess who is still stuck sanding the walls now after paying Luis to do the job and saying I didn't want to DIY this anymore. And with all these patches that I had to add to cover up his mudding imperfections/bubbles, it's looking like I'm going to end up with patchy walls again, which is exactly where I was when I handed Luis this project. What a joke. And the crown molding that I fixed up? That still needs to be repainted as well. I wasn't going to leave this review, but after several weeks and my walls still needing to be finished, I thought I would share my experience.

Elena guided me throughout the design process and worked closely with me to make sure I was happy with my choices. Their workmanship and attention to detail were top notch and they were very respectful of my property, as well as my privacy. Their crew was extremely talented, and Dmitry was very hands on and knowledgeable. I say "with" because they both were absolutely with us every step of the way. The schedule and commitment they made with us was as equally important to them as it was to us. We had some hiccups. No project that I've ever been involved with goes without a hitch. And our house was built in 1963, and the kitchen was last updated in 1992. So there were a lot of challenges to be met and issues to be dealt with as the kitchen went down to the studs. But Elena is a master project and business manager. And Dmitry is actual an artisan, with a team of very skilled people at the ready to do the work and handle the problems. Even when we had issues with the vendors for the appliances, Elena stepped in and worked the white spaces, smoothing over the issues and getting everyone back on track. Dmity himself literally built custom solutions real time at the work site. We had several challenges because of the way the house was initially built, and he overcame them one by one with creative solutions that were not simply kluges but are now permanent fixes that passed ALL Final Inspections. Which brings me to another point: Dmitry did all the plans for submittal to the city, and Elena submitted all the plans and permit requests, interfaced with the city for all inspections, and gave us copies of all the final inspections and permit information for our files. We paid for those services, and I will tell you it was well worth it. It bears noting that we lived in the house the entire time the work was being done, except for the 12 days when we were on vacation out of the country. Pulsar kept working the whole time we were gone, safeguarding our home, and keeping us in the loop even though we were eight hours ahead. Pulsar was not our least expensive bid. But we made the decision early on that we would not cut corners on this job. We are very grateful to have found Dmity and Elena. They were easy to work with, had respect for our property and our schedule and our budget as much as possible, and never made us feel sorry about choosing to with them. I recommend you choose them, too!#
