I recently got into Adidas NMDs when I discovered a certain color way that I was DYING TO HAVE. As soon as I saw a photo of the light grey ones with pink accents (and vice versa), I KNEW I had to had them. I was strolling around Melrose a few weeks ago and went to both the Adidas store and Adidas Originals store (2 stores on Melrose...very confusing), but neither store had them in my size. I randomly walked by Cool Kicks LA, and saw a lot of trendy shoes so I decided to go in. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed! At the front on the left they have all these arcade claw-like games. I'm not really sure how it works but it seemed like basically if you win, you get a free pair of shoes (seemed like most prizes were Yeezys). A lot of young middle school/high school kids were swarming around the games. The rest of the store was lined with tons of shoes. Mostly men's, but they did have some women's which is how I spotted the shoes I wanted! Cool Kicks LA buys, sells, and trades shoes, and I found that most of the shoes were not totally brand new... They were in various conditions from basically like new/worn once, to a little worn, but still valuable. The shoes I got were like new, although I could tell there was a VERY small dirt mark on the fabric, but not noticeable unless you really stare at them. They had them in my size, and I knew I had to have them since they were basically sold out everywhere else! One thing that's a little annoying (which I'm now discovering is the case with most buy/sell/trade shoe stores), is that they mark up the prices like crazy because they have shoes that are most likely sold out everywhere/hard to get your hands on. The Adidas NMDs I bought were sold on Adidas' website for $130, but I bought them for a whopping $250. Yes...I know...so pricey, but I just felt like it was meant to be because they literally only had them in ONE size and it happened to be my size...and I couldn't find them anywhere else. They have a ton of rare shoes like Yeezys which they sell from upwards of $500 - $1500. So crazy. I recommend checking out their Instagram at @coolkicksla because they update it really frequently with shoes they've recently acquired. They post pics of people coming into the store too and sometimes there are celebs! I was a little skeptical because they way they ring up items is odd...they don't scan the barcode on the box or anything. The guy who retrieved my shoes + box from the back just told the cashier guy "they're $250" and he just typed in $250 on the iPad and that's how much I was charged. Seems like a typo or something could easily happen, but whatever. Also, they have a pretty harsh no returns/exchanges policy and all sales are final. Overall, I'm super glad I stumbled upon Cool Kicks LA because I found the shoes I really wanted. If you are on the lookout for a specific pair of shoes, I definitely recommend checking this place out to see if they have them! read more

Normally I read reviews before I go places but unfortunately I was so hyped because I follow them on instagram and YouTube. Brought some shoes in to sell and man all they care about is making a profit. I get it it's a store you have to make money but dude with the braids low balls the hell out of you. You're better off selling on offer up or Facebook marketplace although it'll take longer you'll get more bang for your buck. The atmosphere felt a little unprofessional and majority of the employees seem to be on a high horse with no personality. The highlight of coming here was the girl in the front she was the only one acknowledging customers and greeting people, everybody else was super rude and dry. It was my first time here and my excitement is gone after going. I won't be returning. Although it won't make a difference to them I just would rather go elsewhere because I value customer service and this play doesn't. read more

This place is absolutely the worst sneaker shop I've ever been to. If you are trying to trade in or sell some kicks they will lowball you so bad it's not even funny. They will lie and try to manipulate you, they base their buying prices from stock x so they pull their cell phone out and check last sales of a shoe then lie and say the payout price is wayyyyy less than it actually is on stock x. Customer service in this store is horrible owners are arrogant as hell. More worried about YouTube videos and Instagram post than actual customers coming in and making purchases. Good selection of shoes but they don't wrap/seal any shoes. Which means the shoe 10,000 people have picked up grabbed with their oily hands they will sell you. And will not just answer simple questions at the door will make stand in line wait forever just find out they don't have what your looking for which you could have answered before instead of wasting people's time. I thought this place was "cool" kicks yet my experience there wasn't cool. The guy Jay didn't show any customer service. He seemed really annoyed and didn't even greet me or say hello. He just gave me a straight faced attitude everyone and there seem cool except for him maybe I came in on a bad day? But I was hoping to trade the same shoe just for a different size and a smaller size 2 in my size was worth a little more. Plus I had the receipt of the original purchase of where I got them for retail when they didn't even have the receipt for there's. They wanted to charge me an extra $50 just to trade I don't get that. How is that a trade. I came to this store cause I always watch their videos on YouTube of them cashing out on shoes.. I came with my Travis Scott 1s deadstock with og everything down to the receipt that I purchase at a mall (retail) mind you I came from Texas (first time in the store) and some dude with blonde curly hair looks at my shoes for a good 10-15 mins and tells me he's not interested.. he didn't give me any reason why or anything just didn't want to spend the money I guess that's what he said. I drove an hour to this place for my 14 year old son who really wanted to go. They opened 15 minutes late but the security guard and all the staff working that day were nice and friendly. They constantly came up to us asking us if we needed help. We were overall pleased with our visit. My son walked away happy with his new shoes. They tried hard to keep the number of customers to a minimum due to COVID restrictions but none of the employees were wearing masks. read more

Please be very careful when buying from this place. I'm a legit customer and walked in not really knowing how to identify fake Jordan's. I've purchased shoes here before so I had believed them to be a respectable and honest business but after purchasing a pair of bed 11's I quickly learned they were replicas. I first noticed the glue started to already going out in the front of the shoe after only wearing the shoes to work. Haven't even got out the car yet. Then after further inspection I noticed the Jump man was off and had a booty to him. The last thing I notice was that the inside sole logo was incorrect. It was a jump man instead of Nike logo. Best sneaker shopping experience in LA. We hit up 4 other shops on Fairfax and Melrose and our favorite was this place. Every employee in the store was super cool and helpful. They even did a free giveaway if you could grab the shoes off the pole outside. My son ended up with a free pair of Jordans which was amazing.
