I was so disappointed with this Cooper's Hawk. I have never been a fan of their entrees I typically prefer the tapas served during happy hour but this evening we came for dinner. We were sat in the bar area and our server was kind but she was never available. The food was greasy and lacked flavor and we did not get our pretzel bread until we were literally paying our check. Another server stepped in and refilled our drinks because our server delivered our Coke zeros to the table late and without ice stating that they were out of ice. She later delivered ice in a separate plastic cup. I saw another couple walk out because it took so long for her to come and greet them. Just an awful experience. I hope they improve over time, unfortunately I won't be back to see but I appreciate the addition to Stonebridge. read more

Second time visiting Coopers Hawk and both experiences I had amazing drinks, apps, and entrees! The service was slower today, I'll chalk it up to being a Friday, but we made a reservation and it still took awhile to be seated. Throughout the meal we were having to ask for things twice and had to cancel two side soups that did not arrive. However, the staff are all helpful and nice! I dream of these brussel sprouts, I highly recommend them! The house made meatballs are also quite good. Of the entrees I tried, the pretzel crusted pork chops were my favorite. Service was great at start but our sever got over sat or kitchen was slow because he would disappear for long periods. The food was good but it took forever to come out. Even longer for the dessert like 30 minutes. I really wanted to love the newer Cooper's Hawk location in Woodbridge because I've been to the Reston and Ashburn locations and have always had great experiences. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. Our group was seated around 1 PM. Because brunch was about to end, three friends who wanted brunch ordered first, while the rest of us ordered from the regular menu. Ironically, some of those brunch orders ended up being the LAST dishes to arrive. The biggest problem was the kitchen and timing. It took around an hour and a half for much of our food to come out, and throughout the meal we had multiple missing, incorrect, or improperly prepared dishes. Two friends ordered French toast with eggs. The eggs came out separately without the French toast, which caused confusion since another person had ordered steak and eggs. One French toast eventually arrived, but the second order was still missing. We had to ask multiple times before it finally came out, even though they had been among the first people to order. Another friend ordered steak, eggs, and a specific type of potato she knew she liked from previous visits. Apparently they were out of those potatoes, but instead of telling her, they substituted something else. She ended up having to send the dish back and ordered the gnocchi instead. A few of us shared several dishes, including the Brussels sprouts, trio of medallions, and fish. The fish was excellent and probably the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, we ordered the medallions medium rare and they arrived well done. We sent them back, and the second order still wasn't medium rare, although it was better than the first. I believe our server's name was Darren, and I want to make it clear that I don't think he was the problem. He seemed to be responsible for a huge number of tables and was doing the best he could. It felt more like a staffing and/or kitchen issue. We arrived around 1 PM and didn't leave until almost 5:30 PM. That is an incredibly long time for lunch/brunch, especially when so much of that time was spent waiting, asking where missing dishes were, or sending incorrect food back. I understand that newer restaurants can have growing pains, and I hope that's all this was. Cooper's Hawk has always been consistently good for me at other locations, which is why this experience was so surprising. I'd absolutely return to Reston or Ashburn, but I would hesitate to return to the Woodbridge location until they work out the service and kitchen issues. read more

Wine tasting is always a great idea. Called my sisters this evening to see if they were up for some good ol wine tasting at Coopers Hawk. They opened this location closest to their neck of the woods. Their restaurant was much bigger than I expected. They didn't have the patio open just yet, and that was exactly where I wanted to sit...the weather today was perfect for it...we placed our name on the waitlist and headed to snag a spot at the tasting bar...first come first serve... As a member with over 50 bottles on my reserve lol the tasting to me are all the same lol with the exception of the seasonal offering and the actual wine of the month... I do appreciate that I can swap a tasting for a glass of something... Anyhoo-i was thinking about the shrimp scampi I had the night before and decided to run it back... My sister was looking forward to enjoying her fav which is their braised short rib...which another version so happens to be featured as their seasonal dish for the month...but they were out lol. She ended up trying the shrimp scampi and I guess we can say we were happy they weren't out of that! My niece ended up asking if she could get her mom's dish to go... My niece ordered the kids meal with the flatbread cheese pizza which came with fries and fruit. For dessert we enjoyed the Peach Raspberry butter cake. Alot to digest for me service is paramount. We decided to have my mom birthday party yesterday here at Coopers Hawk. Alot of rave around this place so we made reservations for 7 at 6:45 pm. The restaurant is beautiful great location we loved the wine tasting bar when you first walk in that was a hit. But once we sat down service was really slow. We waited long times for drinks and food and the waiter appeared like he needed help with the table but that never came. We've been to several locations of Cooper's Hawk and was really excited when they opened one here. I've been here 9 times since opening. I have done both the counter wine tasting and dinner and bar seating. Overall: Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 This is in the Stonebridge shopping center and while the parking lot directly in front of it isn't big, still plenty of parking within the shopping center overall. If you choose to do a wine tasting, depending on when you go, you might need to wait quite awhile before getting a spot. Even if you choose to come before dinner, I recommend coming at least an hour since they can take a long time. It's 8 wines but they can be inconsistent and take a long time to come back to pour while taking care of other customers. While it is enjoyable and the wines are good, it would be nice if they could cut down the amount of time it takes for a wine tasting. If they could free up space sooner and cut down the time so you don't end up being late to dinner reservations, it would be great. Even if you have a reservation, it's rare that we go and check in and be sat immediately. We've been sat faurly quicklt but have also waited up to 10 minutes. Service has improved time over time. The three times I have asked for my wine pairing for my dinner, one came out 10 minutes after my meal, one came out 15 minutes after meal and one thankfully came out just a little bit before. The 2nd time, I had even asked to make sure that it would come before my meal. Our server reached out to a manager who rectified the situation but he said he was going to get a wine menu and never returned. We had to ask our server for it. We did have another recent experience where a manager came by and indicated that our appetizer would come out soon and so we had asked for bread. He also never returned with bread. The last couple of times, the service seemed nice and friendly, only my first time dining in did the server seem like they didn't care. It doesn't seem as if bread is automatically brought out, you do have to ask for it. The food so far has been good. The only thing that I really had an issue with is The Prime sandwich was dry. The fries are hit or miss - great flavor but not always crispy. I recently went for brunch and their Gnocchi Carbonara was interesting. It didn't taste bad but not really a carbonara and the sauce was think and not creamy. I recommend the Brussel Sprouts, any of the flatbreads and the Over the Border Egg Rolls for appetizers. For dinner, the Prime Churrasco Grillrd Steak and the Pretzel Crusted Pork Chop so far are my favorite. It's a nice restaurant and atmosphere and it is nice to have dinner and a wine tasting but everything does take quite awhile so be prepared to spend at minimum 2 hours here. read more

It was ok. I have been to two other Cooper's hawk restaurants and they're usually pretty good. This one was ok. I think they're trying to get their footing being new in Woodbridge. I had the smoke brisket hash. I should have asked if it was going to be shredded...I just assumed it would be since it's hash but it wasn't brisket was sliced and kind of tough. But had good flavor. My friends both had the carbonara pasta which they said were amazing. The sangria was very tasty. The service was slow but she was extremely nice a took great care of us. It's a gorgeous location. Went to Cooper's Hawk since it just opened in Stonebridge. Our reservation was for 8:15, but we got seated by 7:30. The hostess was very kind. Service was slow, and several items were out of stock -- the risotto, the short rib, and even the strawberry syrup for my lemonade refill. The waiter didn't mention any of this upfront; we found out about the risotto and short rib only after ordering, and about the syrup when I asked for a refill. We also had to request bread ourselves. We are on a lucky streak! This is definitely a must try restaurant. They are newly opened (May 2026) and they are getting EVERYTHING right! They open at 10 AM for brunch and you have to start with their $5 sangria. Their Applewood smoked pizza has a burst of flavors ... you'll see fireworks like Remy in Ratatouille! We also tried their candid bacon BLT, which was also delicious. The aioli was made from scratch! You'll also get complimentary pretzel bread but don't fill up. Big big big kudos to Juliana, our server. She was super amazing and made great recommendations. Top tips: make reservations! If you do a drop in, check the bar and high top for open seating. Just opened this week--good to start with room for growth to become great! Several of my coworkers who live by other Cooper's Hawk locations have raved about them for years, so I was really excited when I saw that one would be coming to Woodbridge. We made reservations online, which I'm really glad we did since the wait was quoted at two hours for another couple who arrived without booking ahead! We were quickly brought to our table, and our server, Brittany, warmly welcomed us. When she learned it was our first time, she offered to start us out with drinks and give us some time to look over the menu. When I ordered a San Pellegrino, she suggested some limes to go with it. Brittany brought out a beautiful wine glass, three sliced lime wedges, and a wine chiller for the bottle! I decided to try a cup of the seafood bisque and the butternut squash gnocchi with a sparkling wine flight. She also asked if we wanted some bread to go with our dinner, so we said we would try that as well. I am going to give the restaurant a ton of grace for the flow of the kitchen for their first week. I know how hard it is to get a new team together, especially when it's already packed with customers from the start. There were many dishes waiting in the window visible from our table, and they would go out to the dining area in spurts. Brittany was quite apologetic with the wait time for the bread, as it arrived a few minutes after our entrees. The seafood bisque was rich and very tasty. I would definitely get it again. The gnocchi was also very flavorful, especially with the sage garnish. The gnocchi were a bit firmer than the pillowy traditional Italian texture I often hunt for, but they were still good. I really enjoyed the wine flight with the meal, and the Sparkling Almond had such a beautiful finish with a surprising and pleasant almond flavor. We finished off the meal with dessert. I tried the white chocolate truffle (delicious), and my husband had the chocolate cake with Tillamook ice cream. It was really lovely and perfect to share. I ended up signing up for a membership by the end of the meal. It was the first time having a table sign up for Brittany, and after checking with the manager, she was able to get my new member number from the app. (If you are signing up for the first time, make sure you give your server the number to credit them and get your reward points for the meal.) After eating, I went to the front area to get my wine for the month. I grabbed one of the last Sparkling Almond bottles on display. It took about 10 minutes to make it through the wine purchases. Again, I'll give them lots of grace for the wait, since they were trying to field phone calls, new memberships, and wine packaging. We've been to a few different Cooper Hawk restaurants over the years and they were pretty decent, so when they recently opened this one, we came in lunch on a weekday. The host was nice and professional. Our server was really nice and personable. The menu is pretty good, with many appetizing options, including several healthy options. Unfortunately, execution is mediocre. We ordered a Chopped BBQ chicken salad and a bowl of tortilla soup. The salad came out about 10 minutes before the soup, which was odd. The server explained they didn't make the soup correctly at first and had to re-do it. When it came out, it wasn't very hot either, so not sure what the deal was with it, but the taste was decent. The salad had dark, unappetizing leaves of lettuce and avocado. This was hard to understand since this was lunch, getting there at noon... they shouldn't have had the lettuce sitting around long enough to look like that and the avocado should be cut fresh to order. The flavor of the dressing on the salad was really good. The pretzel bread and the butter that came with it were very good. The décor is nice, rather upscale, but the smell inside was nasty... it smelled like a bar on a Sunday morning after a hard Saturday night inside. When back in the area, I'll probably just stick with Not Your Avg Joe's. read more

My friend and I have been here twice now and both times we've started with a tasting and then moved to the bar area. The tastings are nice sizes and appropriately priced; however, the wine pourers don't know any details about the wine they are pouring and don't offer any tasting notes. The first visit, I asked what was the blend of grapes in their Meritage and nobody knew. They found a manager who also didn't know. I gave it a pass because they were newly opened. The second visit, I asked for tasting notes of the first wine poured and I was told "it's good." I didn't ask again. For the bar area, shout out to Maggie who was an excellent server. She was prompt and attentive. We were there during happy hour (which is offensively early from 3-5:30), I ordered the arancini which was delicious and my friend said the sliders were tasty too. The regular menu looks a bit pricey so it's a good thing we were able to take the day off work for happy hour prices... Overall vibe is pretty nice but do note that it is an absolute icebox so bring your sweater. read more

The shrimp was cooked to long it was not fried until golden and bit to hard but tasted good. My sister and I ordered a medium well done bacon cheeseburger with candy bacon and a side salad. My girlfriend ordered meatballs in sauce and a the chicken chopped salad with shrimp instead. She also sampled the non alcoholic strawberry drink. My sister and I had a taste of their custom (one red the other white) Pinot noir followed by a full glass of the white Pinot noir it was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. We went to Cooper's Hawk at Stonebridge for a late lunch during the week. The ambiance is nice. When entering the winery/restaurant the first area is the winery and there were several people doing wine tasting. The staff welcomed us when we went in. We were quickly seated. The waitress came by soon after we were seated. We ordered within the first 10 minutes. After that we waited about 30 minutes until the wine was served. The meal came shortly after that. We thought that the wait after ordering was a bit too long. The wine was excellent and the food was very good. It was served hot so it didn't sit long in the kitchen. I had such a beautiful experience at the new Coppers and Hawk in Woodbridge. I love the complementary tasting of the barrel reserve, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was perfect. I was sat by the hostess who took time explaining how the restaurant works, gave me food and beverage recommendations, and asked if I needed any more information. She was so sweet. And my server, Andrew, had been a delight. So easy going and kind. He has been prompt to take my order and all food and drinks came out quickly. We made a reservation for 8 to celebrate my mother in law's 80th birthday and were hoping for a memorable evening with good food and great service. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Our server seemed overwhelmed and clearly not too experienced in handling a larger group. We brought with us a bottle of Dom Perignon to enjoy during our celebration and he over poured it, leaving two people from the group without their serving. Every request seemed to take forever. While appetizers were fantastic, our entrees were subpar. The risotto was bland and overcooked. The gnocchi was also overcooked. The jambalaya was ok. The only entre that was good was the crusted salmon. I joined the wine club because I enjoyed the bottle of sangria we had during dinner and because of the large wine selection available at the tasting bar, however the bar staff were not very friendly. They seemed annoyed that we asked a few questions and asked to sample one particular wine. Perhaps it was a busy night but the overall experience was just ok. I've seen too many service problems mainly that they don't seem to treat you like they need to get it right. Secondly, the food. I'm not the type of person who leaves negative restaurant reviews, but I honestly wish I had read the reviews before coming here. First, the food is overpriced. I ordered a hamburger for lunch, and with just the burger, it came to $24. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it. The bun tasted stale, like it had been sitting around for days, and the burger itself was very disappointing. Another thing that stood out was the service. I walked in wearing my gym clothes, and I honestly didn't feel as welcomed as some of the other customers. Maybe that wasn't intentional, but it definitely came across that way. I normally don't eat at Burger King or McDonald's, but if I had to choose between them and this restaurant, I'd pick Burger King or McDonald's without hesitation. This restaurant just opened, and based on my experience, they really need to improve both the quality of the food and the customer experience. Otherwise, I don't see them staying in business for very long. The place was nice but I won't be coming back. read more

The wine bar is massive and the other bar is a nice size with a good amount of seating. Our appetizer came out nice and hot. After not receiving our entrees by 8:00 pm, we spoke to the manager who apologized and told us dessert would be free. We considered that adequate. When the food arrived shortly thereafter, it was pretty good (8/10 stars), we ordered dessert while we were still eating because we know now how long the kitchen takes. Once we ordered dessert, we were told we only get two free desserts for the table. So the compromise that was considered an adequate remedy is now reneged. There is no other restaurant in the Woodbridge area like Coopers Hawk. We had never been there before and brought our friends visiting from Louisiana. We were not disappointed. I had made a reservation accidentally for the wrong day and they seated us anyway. We reviewed their wonderful wine selection. The wines we had were all delicious and we had a couple of tastings too. The calamari and meatball appetizers were unique and delicious. My husband had the filet a perfect medium rare. My Napa salad was awesome. My friends' beef rib was fall off the bone tender. Maggie was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of and was just so hospitable. Katalin , one of the managers, also stopped by and made sure everything was to our liking. The wine expert was very informative and helpful. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Love that there's a tasting room in addition to the restaurant is a real bonus. Other that, this place is beautiful when you come inside. Albeit, the front of the restaurant is on the side street. That's a shame. I sat at the bar for about five minutes and was never greeted or acknowledged by the bartender, despite there being only four people at the bar and the restaurant not being busy. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the bartender appeared more interested in having a personal conversation with a coworker than paying attention to guests. I overheard her talking about having her nail technician on speed dial while customers were sitting unattended. Good hospitality starts with acknowledging guests, even if you're busy. Our first experience at the Woodbridge CH and I would give it 4 stars as there is definitely some room for improvement. Kassandra our server was AMAZING, and very attentive. For appetizers we got the Thai calamari, drunken shrimp and crispy Brussels and all were amazing! Dinner we ordered the surf and turf combo (churrasco steak and blackened tuna), soy ginger glazed salmon, Parmesan chicken life balance meal and a cropped churrasco steak platter. The salmon was phenomenal, but the other three meals were very overly salted. I'm not sure if it was a kitchen accident or just learning curves, but those sides and the meals were very very salty and that is the only critique, otherwise it was all fantastic! Cooper's Hawk has been on my must-try list for some time now. Unfortunately though, my experience was dim from start to finish. I sat at the bar by myself, it took about 5-10 minutes to be acknowledged despite there being 2 bartenders present. The bartender that was serving me and the surrounding patrons didn't seem thrilled to be there whatsoever. Eventually I get to order, and my wine was served in a glass that was still wet from the dishwasher. Once my food came out, I dug into my steak to find that it was cooked incorrectly (it was closer to medium well/well done than the medium I asked for), and my fries were lukewarm at best. The bartender never checked in, so I just continued on eating. Even when he came to collect my plate, there was no "how was everything?"/"Can I get you anything else?" I was intent on ordering a dessert at the end of my meal but given the sour experience, I just decided to catch the bartender's attention and ask for the bill. I want to give this place another shot but I just really hope that next time that service standards are a bit higher... read more
