Did not enjoy myself in the slightest. I was not relaxed and quite frankly very overwhelmed. There was a family with 2 kids running around and screaming and chasing each other and playing hide and seek throughout the establishment. The family had a whole play set out with toys and what not. I am a mother and this was supposed to be a getaway for me, not a family function with all the kiddos. The amount of overstimulation in here was unmatched, im not even this overstimulated with my own toddler. I am very disappointed as I was traveling to visit family... the workers said NOTHING to this family, they also didn't apologize for allowing this type of customer into their establishment. NOT TO MENTION... we walked in and were not greeted in the slightest. In fact it felt as though we were ignored. The workers were not apologetic at all and I will not beg for an apology, will NEVER come here again. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO RELAX. You might as well buy some wine you haven't tried before and buy some cute glasses and have your own wine tasting at home. This location is a sister location (also one in Haymarket) to the Morais Vineyards & Winery in Bealeton VA. The servers are very knowledgeable and will let you try some of the wines before purchasing them to ensure that you like what you're about to buy! We came in after eating dinner to see what the place had to offer. First thing to know is that this is a single winery tasting room that focuses on Portuguese style wines. I tried the deluxe tasting with 12 samples. I enjoyed the first two whites and the dessert ones weren't bad. The reds were all not my favorite but I don't like oaked wines at all. The tasting plate is like a Sargento special with some basic sliced cheese and spicy salami and regular salami. Nothing special. If you like the little cherry wine in chocolate cups you may want to try the deluxe as you get the dessert wines with that option. Very cute decor and they have a few events every month like trivia night. For the price (17 plus tip) it was a really nice tasting even though I wasn't a particular fan of the offerings. read more

Amazing experience! I came here with a group of friends and we sat at the bar where we had a personable and intimate wine tasting experience. The staff is friendly and highly knowledgeable. All wines are from the Morais Vineyardsamd Winery, so it is like a satellite wine tasting room. I highly recommend the deluxe tasting experience, which cost about $17. The tasting includes all the wines, including dessert wines, and a souvenir wine glass! The wine tasting is accompanied by a small charcuterie plate which includes a very small assortment of cheese, cold cuts, and chocolate. Staff describe each wine and the best item to pair it with. So I was coming back from a clients house and I didn't want to sit in traffic so I decided to stop at morais vineyard tasting room . Came in I was greeted right away . For deluxe tasting $17 dollars (12 wines) you get a free wine glass with your tasting. They also give you a small plate of meats bread and cheese. Nothing fancy but it's free . The decor is cute bottles are surrounding the wall with corks traveling around the bar and main wall . They definitely did a little with the attention to detail. Service was great . read more

Heard about Aroma's over a year ago, but hesitated in coming as I don't care much for Morias's wine, but while in Manassas City recently we decided to give it a try. The place is beautiful decorated and designed with an incredible wine theme! There's even a large barrel to sit inside!! The staff are very friendly and helpful and they have adult slushies too! They have a large selection of wines and on the day we went, they had a food truck outside too. Shhhhh............ this has to be one of the best hidden tasting rooms I have come across to date. Quaintly situated on a quiet corner in Olde Town Mananas is a hidden gem for sure. If you are familiar with Morais Vineyard & Winery then you will surely love this place as it is their satellite location. The inside is beautiful and set up for everything from a group of friends to an intimate afternoon date for two. When you walk in if you happen to sit at the tasting bar, look under the ledge for the wine corks that are intricately placed under it. Epic detail! They also have some tables outside and a barrel inside that if lucky enough you can sit in and they will bring the tasting to you. The tasting plate is cute as well and an added bonus to the tasting itself. Just do not come hungry, there is not a full food menu but they do have a few nibbles for purchase. I know you are thinking it and no you cannot bring outside food or drink, but you will be okay. You can chose from two tastings, classic and deluxe, the deluxe includes the desert wines. I will say, if you have never been here before treat yourself to a deluxe so you can enjoy their fabulous Cherry Wine in a chocolate dessert cup. Totally worth it, totally. All the wines are fabulous and if you are lucky enough, you can taste the wine slushies they make as well. Let me not forget Kate and Megan, these lovely ladies are fabulous. When we arrived there was only one other couple there and then a group showed up and a few more couples but they took turns making sure our tasting continued without a hiccup. This tasting room is tied to Morais Vineyards of Bealeton and served the same tastings, plus a few extras in a cozy wine-bar setting in Old Town Manassas. The tasting room itself is lovely with a wide selection of seating. There are standard tables booths made out of wine barrels and even a whole wine barrel that you can sit inside if you're lucky! If you choose a table your tasting will be brought to you, however there's plenty of room at the bar and the seats are comfy. At Aroma you can several different flights of tastings. There's a standard tasting which includes a SELECTION of all their wines and a deluxe tasting which offers literally ALL of their wines including the special cherry wine, which is served in a chocolate cup, so yummy! We were there for a very special Halloween wine and candy pairing. Yes, wine and candy! And it was delicious! Some very unexpected combos worked remarkably well. We liked the merlot so well we decided to have a glass and enjoy a charcuterie platter along with it. The platter is $24 and includes your choice of salami or chorizo, choice of cheese and choice of crackers along with tasty olives. Let me tell you, it's more than enough food for lunch for two. You get an entire stick of chorizo (and not those wimpy little Christmas box sample sizes either!) a whole block of cheese and an entire box of crackers plus a cup full of olives and it's all beautifully presented on a board. If they aren't too busy they'll slice up the chorizo for you too! The servers are so nice and very knowledgeable and best of all more than happy to share their knowledge with you. This is a wonderful space in Old Town. I live right there and tend to frequent the shop there pretty often. I've been to Aroma three times now. I really really enjoy it, but there have been some downs that have dulled the shine in my ups! My first visit was a perfect tasting. There were a total of five of us, we stopped in on a Friday night. There wasn't a huge crowd but it was lively and a overall great environment. I enjoyed most of the wines, the stories behind them and the woman facilitating our tasting was very engaging. This past weekend, my fiance and I had family in town and thought it would be wonderful to take them to Aroma. My fiance and his brother arrived before us and sat at the bar. They were about four wines into their tasting when the rest of us arrived. There were eight of us, but only six doing a tasting. When we arrived, we were met with an obvious air of annoyance from the staff. Told that we should have made a reservation and that she would try to accommodate us. (At that time, there were 2 people at the bar (my fiance) and a group of 4 ladies at a table. I have been a long time fan of visiting wineries and the likes in Virginia. I've never made an appointment for a tasting, sadly I was not aware of this policy. I apologized and told her that we would leave since we did not have a reservation, her tone changed a bit and she told me that she was sure she could find space for us. (Again, at this time, there was barely anyone else there.) I was getting looks from my family and friends and quite frankly was embarrassed that I had suggested this place. It was at this time, that I was told the normally $17 tasting would be $19 since we were in a large group. It's not about the money, obviously $2 is not going to be the make it or break it on our day - but it was the curt way it was said and the fact that this is even a policy they enforce at all. Another large group of about 8 walked in. They were met with the same hesitation of service and rudeness that we received. They were much more vocal about being offended. We started our tasting, there were sometimes 10 minute gaps between wines, sometimes longer. It was to the point where we almost just paid and left because we were frustrated at the amount of time this was taking. We had dinner reservations and finally I asked the lady if we could speed it up and pay because we had to leave. In fairness, they had become busier with smaller tables and bar guests and there was only 3 ladies working. This again leads me to wonder why on a Summer Saturday afternoon, there was only 3 people working? Overall, my guests were annoyed at the length of time between wines and the fact that we were made to feel like an inconvenience. I was embarrassed that this had been my suggestion after raving to them about how much we loved Aroma. I do love the wine. I do love the atmosphere, and I do love that this great place is so near my home. I will be back and hopefully have a much better experience. I'll take responsibility for not knowing their "reservation and increased tasting cost" policy, next time I will make sure I call ahead and ensure they have time to serve us, but my out of town guests probably wont visit Aroma again. read more

They have a little booth inside of a barrel and you can dim the lights. The experience is amazing. We had Megan serving us and she gave us tips on wine in general to take home with us. No long drive - quick & easy & if you don't look outside you feel just like you're at a picturesque winery out on the countryside. The Classic tasting featured 8 wines (3 whites, 1 rose & 4 reds) with paired bites for a minimal fee of $10. Some of the wines were just awful on the noise, but there were a couple of reds that made up for it. For $17 you can include 4 additional sweet/dessert wines & take home the tasting glass. From my visit, I gathered they also offer wine slushies & feature a monthly wine with a 10% off discount. Wine club membership is also offered, but I didn't gather those details. I have been there many times, always for their wine tasting. My personal recommendation is the Deluxe Tasting (12 wines for $15 + you get to keep a glass)! Hands down one of my new favorite wine tasting venues locally. It's a little small, but the interior is very chic and they boast a huge barrel with seats in it just for flare. The wine menu is a decent size, and the classic tasting is actually less expensive than some other tasting rooms. The dessert wines were very strong but very tasty, and don't get me started on the chocolate shot glass we had to use to taste the cherry wine..... I got chocolate wasted. They are only open a few days a week but at least I got to taste the morais wines after repeatedly telling myself I would make the trip there. Fantastic wine! I've never been to Marais Vineyards but I'm glad they opened this place. Their whites are light and refreshing, their version of an Albariño is great. The Rose is one of my favorites and their reds are to die for. I love the Touriga and the Merlot. It's a great place and I love that they do wine flights! You can have a little bit of everything for $15 for 4 half pours. Their cheese/meat/olive plate is actually a pretty decent deal, you get a good amount of food for the $21. I was here last Christmas with a friend and we enjoyed the tasting flights. The types of grapes were not all familiar to me and the staff were relatively well informed but had not been to the winery itself. I'm going to be really honest - the wines, weren't that good. I tasted all of them and none were good enough for me to take home. The rose (my favorite) was more like a rose wine and tasted really strange. A unique experience. That is, until we splurged and spent the whole extra $3 for the dessert flight. Their port and this moscatel dessert wine was amazing. I bought one and and everyone enjoyed it at home too. That is why they get 5 stars. Also, I got to take a free glass with my purchase (and actually, because i traveled via plane and was there the following week, they held one for my return trip! No questions asked!) Great service beyond just the cheese and chocolate which I kind of expect for the price and scene so this was a great experience that I'd recommend. So, 5 stars EXCEPT... they got knocked down to 4 stars because THEY DON'T SHIP THEIR WINE! I wanted to get another bottle for a special occasion for my mom and they only sell their wines at this location and their winery. Sunday November 11, 2019 at Aroma Wine Tasting. My wife and I are enjoying some wine and chocolate. A very demanding man came in and stood at the apex of the counter. He was completely rude and out of line the way he treated the staff. From where the bottles were pulled off the shelf to how the box was packed to every little aspect of picking up an order, this guy was a jerk. He was very arrogant in his request and his response to Haley when she tried to accommodate him on every demanding and belittling request. My wife and I watch, listened and commented to each other that we should show this guy the exit door. Meanwhile Haley was outstanding in her responses and demeanor to this arrogant jerk. She even helped carry a bag of wine to his car. Haley exemplifies an outstanding employee that goes above and beyond her job/position. Haley was far better dealing with this guy than that guy deserved. Wine is good and the venue is great. They do have cheese and other items while you are there. Comfortable seating and a private barrel you can sit in with some friends while enjoying their wine. Would like them to stay open a little later in the evenings. read more
