Five stars for a good, solid, pain free experience. Recently my car's water pump started leaking. I was very lucky to have Ford's 3.5 V6 in my car, which is a good engine for the most part. Except their lunatic engineers solved a problem they had by placing the water pump in the engine block BEHIND the timing chain, which also drives the pump. I'll say, I've never owned a car that didn't need a new water pump at some point. The engine has to come out of the car to do this service, a job that is well beyond my skill and tools. The dealer wanted $5k to do the work. I called my usual guy Dan Nagel, but the work was more than he does at his shop. Instead, he recommended Cooper's. The price estimate was much less than the dealer and the work was done well. The whole process was pain free. My car is good for many more years and I wasn't cheated at all. I've used this shop in the past to do minor repairs and some other routine small service repairs. I felt they were a little costly. I recently bought a used VW for my son and had them Check the airbags make sure the frame wasn't bent, they were also supposed to do a general OBD diagnostic to make sure there weren't any codes outstanding and standard check of fluid levels, brakes, Etc. nothing stood out per their report. I paid about $150. And went back to the dealer to buy the car, with a clean bill of health. As I drove the car home the engine light came on I was about 30 minutes from home. I opened the hood and check the oil dip stick it was dry to the tip. I called them and they had no explanation, but obviously never checked the oil. It was Friday evening not much I could do with them. No offer or refund. The next week I took the car to the Volkswagen dealer and had them do an oil change and diagnostic they found a code problem with an oil pressure regulator. Not a very sophisticated auto shop. They took my money and ran. I'll give them two stars for past service and minus three for shitty service. Won't be going back to them. read more

Had my truck there numerous times for work always do a great job very honest

Driving back to Michigan from Dubuque, Iowa (on I-80 in suburban [Tinley Park] Chicago, in a bumper to bumper traffic jam, no less) the alternator pulley on my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan (with 352,000 miles) seized up, causing the serpentine belt to break. I had to continue 5 miles--took at least 20 minutes--running simply on battery power until I could get off at an exit, and drove into a nearby Shell station. I checked into a nearby hotel for the night, and then went back to the Shell station to talk to the guy behind the counter about leaving my van overnight. He had several other customers ahead of me, so I struck up a conversation with a gentleman, who I asked if he knew of a reliable and trustworthy auto repair shop nearby, AND HE DID. It is called Cooper Service. http://www.cooperservice.com He said the owner was a good friend of his, and they did good work there. He also said to give them his name--Don ______. It is a couple miles north off exit 145 on I-80. I went there at 7:00 am the next morning, just after they opened. When I walked in, the owner was having coffee, and he asked what I needed. I told him I happened to meet a guy who claimed he was a friend--a Don _______--and that I thought I should stop in and let him know he does have at least one friend in the world. He laughed, and said something like, "Oh, HIM...yeah I know him, and he is my one friend..." I explained my predicament, and by 11:30, they had my van towed in, repaired, and we were back on the road!! Made it back Michigan in good order at about 3:00 pm. Simply one amazing and awesome job by Don (the owner) at Cooper Service, and his mechanics, and the tow truck driver, Phil. read more

Came here to get tires mounted because they were the most reasonable price for a Road Force balance. They were able to identify a slight bend in my rim and balance the tire to accommodate this to prevent vibration. Excellent experience and would definitely use them again! read more

Absolutely the most horrible experience. I brought my vehicle in for two major repairs. Although the two major problems were fixed, they left me with another serious issue.
