I had a wonderful experience with the team at Matsenko Auto. I have a 2021 charger scat pack with a…read morebig brake setup (400 mm two-piece rotors and 6 piston brembo brakes). For a dealer job with OEM parts, this costs around $4500 for the front pair. After doing tons of research, I decided to utilize a quality aftermarket kit. However, when I talked to the dealer, they tried to steer me away from this, and while they said they could do it with aftermarket parts, they seemed very unsure and cited issues with prior customers going this route. Another local shop told me they wouldn't be comfortable replacing just the rotors (they wanted me to bring a factory rotor/hat assembly which is honestly unnecessary if old hats are in good shape). I did not feel very confident with both shops. I reached out to Matsenko on yelp by chance and their tech, William, responded within a couple of hours and knew exactly what I was trying to do. I was honestly surprised at how knowledgeable he was with my specific brake job and decided to give them a shot. They got me in quick, and everything was done by end of next day. The brake job is excellent, there is no noise or judder, and braking action is very smooth. In addition, they did an hvac cleaning for me (i had some contamination in my evaporator core) which another shop tried, and failed, and charged me $500 for the whole ordeal. All of this was done well at a fraction of the cost at Matsenko, and I saved thousands. I am very pleased with everything, and the amount of attention to communication I received is something I rarely see these days. Everyone was also very nice and personable, from the shop owner, to the tech and to reception which is also less common these days. I drove all the way from Olympia to have this done, and when my rear brakes need a swap, I know who I'll be calling Thank you for the wonderful service everyone!

You know…read moreyou're in trouble when you pick your vehicle up and the guy at the counter asks you after he collects your money "you know your check engine light is on right?" "Not when I brought it in" I said and was told that that's not their problem. They had done a diagnostic when I dropped the truck off and there's no mention of a check engine light. I brought it back in and they found that my glow plugs went out. "That happens all the time and we won't fix it for you unless you pay us" is what their mechanic Josh actually told me. Well it happened in their shop but I suspect it does happen quite a bit in there. So to sum it up be prepared to get your vehicle back in worse shape than when you brought it in and that you'll have to foot the bill for it.

I had the absolute worst repair experience of my life with this shop, which surprised me because I…read moretook my car here a few years ago and everything went fine. But this time, the owner Steve was rude, unprofessional, and misleading, and our car left with a new issue that they caused and refused to fix and is now having the same problem that we took it in for less than 6 months later. Our car was having issues starting and lights on the dashboard were out like the speedometer and gas gauge. When we brought it in, Steve kept getting our car confused with other cars and originally quoted us the wrong work. Then he called back and said they had the wrong car, quoted us for new alternator and battery. We asked about the dashboard lights to get the full quote and he impatiently said they couldn't even look at that yet. He refused to talk about it, said he needed to do the other work, which didn't seem true but we decided to go ahead with the other work since it was already there. He called after the initial repairs and said they noticed the dashboard lights were out, like that was something new. And that their electrical guy was out of town for 2 weeks. I asked why they never told us that upfront, we could have waited to bring it in, and he claimed we'd never mentioned the issue! I mentioned it in detail when I scheduled the appointment and me and my partner had brought it up several times since, every time we talked to him, including a few hours ago that same day. It was confusing and sort of scary. I couldn't tell if he truly forgot, which seemed impossible, or was being intentionally manipulative. He suggested we drive the car home and bring it back in a couple weeks for the other repair. When I said it was dangerous and illegal to drive without the speedometer or gas gauge readable, he said it was "only a mile" so it was fine. He essentially advised us to break the law and risk our safety. We said to just keep it there until they could do the repair. They had our car for almost A MONTH waiting for the electrical guy then having it seen at an electrical shop because they couldn't figure out how to fix it. When the repairs were finally done, he called and said, "It's fine if the new odometer reading is 30,000 miles higher than the old one, right?" What?? Apparently replacing that part with a used one changed the reading and there's a way to fix it but he refused and said we'd need to do that elsewhere. We were given no warning that it would happen prior to the repair and we complained but he wouldn't make it right. Any time I tried to communicate my concerns about what was going on, Steve was downright mean and condescending. They gave our car a new issue and refused to fix it. It has an incorrect odometer reading that will cost extra money and time to fix. We were able to successfully dispute the charge for the dashboard repairs as it was clear the shop was in the wrong, but that doesn't fix the problem. And to top it off, less than six months later, the car is having starting problems again and one of the dash lights is out, so whatever they did didn't fix the underlying issue. Horrible repair shop, horrible experience. The whole thing was so stressful and upsetting and a waste of A LOT of money. I don't know what happened since a few years ago, but do not go here.

The first effort to reseal the leak worked for a while, but then didn't, so I took the car back for a second effort with a more specific notion of where the leak was located. With the second effort, it seems that the problem has now been fixed. It's one that has troubled my brand, model, and year long enough to become known to the manufacturer for trouble. And with Jones' help and advice, I now know how to prevent its recurrence. Jones Auto Clinic in Tacoma seems to be very cued into customer service. Since both of my appointments there required them to spend more than just a few hours to get the work done right, they offered me a complementary ride back to my home and then delivered my car back to me in my driveway when the work was completed. WOW! That is Customer Service. Customer service and satisfaction are important to me, too. They didn't charge me for the second visit that I hope has fixed the problem I went in for initially, and I appreciate that, too. Thanks, Gaven and Luke and the rest of the Team at Jones Automotive Clinic in Tacoma. DW in Tacoma

Nothing was fixed on my car (keep in mind) after dropping $1,400 for 3 hours of their labor. New warning lights appeared on my dash after getting my car back from them and they denied having anything to do with it. (Permanent TRAC OFF and VSC lights). Absolute dump of an auto shop, they ripped me off horribly. You're much better taking your Lexus to Greg's Japanese Auto or elsewhere.

I got on Yelp to search for…read moresomeone to do an oil change for my 2025 Ford Escape and received three responses right away. Two quotes were $100, so I stupidly assumed the third would be competitive at that price as well. Since they were the first to reach out, they got my business. I had been asked several times for the SAME vehicle information (blamed on a "bot" doing their initial reach out, of course). After getting there, the guy that took the appointment wasn't even there, and the tech didn't even know I had an appointment. He's feverishly making phone calls and getting voicemails. I should have walked, but gave it a few minutes. Daniel at the front desk does not ask me what kind of oil I use, but did say I was not being charged for labor. The bill comes and guess what? I was charged for labor! They used synthetic oil, which I would not have chosen since it costs three times the amount. Total cost? $202 for a dang oil change! Next time I will get a Groupon and go somewhere else!
