OMG... this is the real deal... food is great! I had the Seafood gumbo (only made on weekends). It was great. Didn't have to add any extra seasonings, it was perfect. My husband had shrimp creole and he said it was great. We shared the crawfish pies. I didn't get my share, my husband was steadily eating my crawfish pie my gumbo and his meal . I had this with my parents a few weeks ago and it was surprisingly good for Cajun food found in northern Arkansas. We all enjoyed the Boudin balls that were accompanied by a spicy sauce. My mom had the Creole with catfish on it and her fish was severely undercooked for the most part, as was my dads catfish on his catfish plate. I had the shrimp and grits and it was very good. If not for the undercooked fish I would have given a 5! I would recommend it. read more

Being from the Arkansas delta, this was extremely disappointing. The frog legs had no flavor, they were water soaked before they were cooked. The shrimp we received were literally salad shrimp, corn nuggets were raw in the middle and so was my catfish. I'm willing to bet the only reason this place is still around is because the majority of the population are retired northerners. Then again maybe I'm just spoiled, being from the south I expect "Cajun" food to be flavorful, spicy and delicious. Instead I got bland and undercooked yet still charged full price. Was looking for seafood through Google Maps here in Mountain Home AK and Cooyon's had great reviews! Was not disappointed! Hubby had the Shrimp and Grits's and I had the Shrimp Fettuccine. It's Cajun but I asked for not a lot of spice and they delivered!! They do have southern comfort food and hamburgers that they grind themselves. My Shrimp was delicious and not too spicy and hubby's was just right! Had their lemon and berry cake and real New Orleans beignets for dessert. Excellent! We had the muffuletta which was a favorite of mine in New Orleans and Coonyon's was ver authentic. We also had the Boudin Balls which we also fantastic. The outside of the restaurant is kind of dark and doesn't look open but it is absolutely worth a stop if you enjoy Cajun. read more

This is a great Cajun Restaurant. They make fresh and in house each day We had Boudin Balls which were very good & tasty for an appetizer. For lunch we are the Bacon Jam Club which has a bacon jam that is made in house. Also the blackened catfish which was seasoned just right. Will definitely be back soon! read more

The fried alligator came out with a huge serving - only to find that half of it was fried onion petals and not alligator. It was greasy and not what I expected. I would not order this again. Fri. 5:15 and was seated promptly. At 6:30 there were folks waiting but it moved fast. Atmosphere is good, loved the lamps above the tables, new wall color, and Cajun music. Would like to see more Stuff on the walls to remind me of New Orleans carnival and wish the Zurich deco music was louder. Started with Boudan Balls. Very good deep fried spicy and crunchy rice/sausage with a great roumalade sauce. Had the Cherry/Taragon drink..good, sweet, but could not taste the tarragon? Refreshing though. Had a cup of Gumbo and next time will make it a bowl. Excellent, and don't spiced it before you try it, I thought it was perfect. Then Crawfish Etouffe. I was used to a more thicker sauce and this was on the thin sauce side and I loved it. Again, had a spice and was excellent. It came with a slice of bread. Not a big deal but I like the baguette bread instead. Still worth it all the way. We tried our friends corn fritters (I hope they never remove these from the menu. Great side dish and a must!!!!) 3 of us shared then Crab Cakes and we all found lumps of crab. Thank you for that, what a treat and worth it. Then Bread Pudding for a finally and it was good, ni great, but good and they did say they were working on the bread pudding recipe. Prices were all reasonable. Service friendly and ALL the staff helped each other. Keep the teamwork going! We sat by the kitchen so I want to say, you may wait a few minutes more for food (because they are new) but trust me those folks in the kitchen ROCK. Keep it up guys we are watching you and we thank you. You did good and kept your cool!!!!! I will return for the Shrimp and Grits and maybe an Abite or Blackened Vodoo if they can swing it! Tremendous food, authentic recipes with the freshest ingredients. We started with gumbo, and the amount of file' was just right. Next came shrimp and grits. The shrimp had the taste and texture of being fresh off the boat. The grits were rich, creamy with the perfect amount of cheese to make it rich and drizzled with an amazing roux based sauce. My wife had shrimp creole that was plentiful with fresh peppers and onions and exquisite seasoning. Finished with beignets of course, cooked and served just right. Hats off for a great meal.
