Was invited to Coonyon's for lunch by a friend , well aware that Cajun food was very much to my liking , saying that she had eaten there on several occasions and the food was awesome to say the least ! We ordered appetizers , The over flowing plates of Alligator Bites with fried Onions and a plate of fried Boudin balls were simply delicious as was our entrées and drinks , they were Super ! My vocabulary does not have enough words in it to convey to you just how good our food was as was the very flavorful and authentic BREAD PUDDING with Creole style Bourbon sauce ! From the list of in house specialty drinks I chose the Cherry flavored drink, an excellent choice I might add ( with FREE refills) . After the drinks were delivered to our table they were somehow switched around. My friend DOES NOT like Cherry flavored drinks and accidentally drink some of my cherry flavored drink , saying nothing about the taste. In a few minutes she took another drink and remarked that it's taste was awesome. I drank some of the other drink finding out they had been accidentally switched by our server, my friend could not believe that the drink she had been drinking was indeed Cherry flavored. On a return visit , she ordered a Cherry drink and the food was great. each return visit the food is remains to be well prepared ! I have also been back just to eat the BREAD PUDDING ! The sauce is unbelievable. We truly hope that Mountain Home can continue supporting Conyoon's and will make it a favorite to the locals as well as the many visitors coming to Mountain Home In the future ! My family and I recently visited Cooyon's in Mountain Home and had an absolutely delightful experience! We sampled half of a Muffuletta sandwich, crawfish étouffée, and chicken & andouille sausage gumbo. My children had chicken strips and a grilled cheese. Each dish was a standout in its own right. The Muffuletta sandwich was brimming with flavors, perfectly balancing savory meats and the crunch of fresh bread. The crawfish étouffée was rich, creamy with perfect spice in each bite, and an authentic taste of Louisiana, bursting with succulent crawfish in every bite. The chicken & andouille sausage gumbo was hearty and perfectly seasoned, making it a comforting and satisfying bowl of Southern goodness. The corn fritters were good but were a little bland. I expected them to have maybe onions or peppers. Overall, the meal was wonderful, and I can't wait to return to try more of what Cooyon's has to offer! read more

I'm sorry for the delay as I am new to Yelp. This place is a must go to for seafood (Cajun) food. The Gumbo is probably one of the best I have ever eaten and I am from the New Orleans area. The owners are from Cajun Country and being that AWESOME cooking to Arkansas. We had the Boudin Balls, Crawfish Etouffee, BBQ shrimp, and of course the GUMBO and hands down they were all unbelievabley awesome. They even sell REAL FRENCH bread here and that is unusual for anyplace outside of the New Orleans area. I WILL without a doubt be back here whenever I pass thru Mountain Home. read more

A pleasant surprise - really good Cajun food in Mountain Home, Arkansas. We had Crawfish Etoufee, Red Beans and Rice, an oyster po boy, boudin balls, and bread pudding washed down with a great cup of coffee. All of them were tasty and well prepared, and were as good as I've had in Louisiana. The other high point was our server Rachel, whose angel face hid her drill sergeant tough interior she needed to put up with my brother's, how do I put this, shenanigans. Was looking for a place to eat around Mountain Home and we saw the reviews here on yelp and decided to give it a try. We had the alligator for an appetizer, which was fantastic and came with fried onions mixed in. Then i had the shrimp poboy and my wife had the red beans and rice. Both were equally as good, then Beignets for dessert. They arent as good as you'll find at Cafe Du Monde, but that were pretty dang good. Had dinner there last night. Have eaten in many New Orleans restaurants from the finest to street taverns in various locales around the city, and now Mountain Home offers that same taste and quality. Outstanding crab cakes. Really good shrimp creole and crawfish etoufee, finished off with a rich sumptuous bread pudding. Nicely seasoned with the right amount of heat. We will be back! read more
