This place is pretty good. I was previously going to California Sun in Northern California, and this place doesn't compare :( however they do have good pricing and deals when you sign up. Biggest turn-off.... how pushy some of the girls are when you come in. They want you to sign up for a membership right away. I just wanted to try out the beds first to make sure I like them! I did decide to sign up because of the good pricing, but I did it with the owner or manager, I'm not sure which one she is, because she was more interested in giving me good service than trying to make some commission off of me! Front desk staff is always warm and welcoming. Dana is a first class employee and a great example of how a front desk person in a tanning establishment SHOULD be- always welcoming and cleaning something when I go in. Very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful..prices are a bit high but they sometimes have specials that are accommodating. Its apparent Mgmt has the staff up-selling, however it can be a bit much at times. I'd prefer to see the specials posted versus a sales pitch. Aside from that its a great place. read more

Matt was very helpful with my daughter getting a first spray tan. It turned out very nice! I tried the new Versa spray tan which was fast and fun because it talks to you! It air dried you quickly afterwards. The tan was nice and even. The facility is very open and spacious with lots of tanning opinions. Thanks Matt! read more

I have been coming to Manhattan beach Cop A Tan for years. They have clean rooms , friendly and knowledgable staff , and state of the art equipment. I always learn about new ways they have improved their beds for safety reasons and they have varieties of lotions that are enriched with vitamins. They have spray beds, regular, ultra beds, and orbit for better tanning quality. The staff is always friendly and offering promotions and specials to make it more affordable. I use this place because it's right next to my job so convenience is a major factor in my scoring. Price, well price is insane unless you are going to use frequently and buy the monthly package, which I do. Considering how often I go in a month, the price is very, very good. I only do short sessions so it works out well for me. The place is nice and clean but like most tanning spots it has a certain odor that you understand if you're a tanner. My only small complaint beyond anything said above is that they only have one stand up. I don't understand this and I don't understand laying down in a bed... ewww. And finally staff - generally good interactions, nothing negative to say there. Some are actually quite friendly. Anyways there you go unbiased and random review. Good luck out there!! read more

Nice ,clean tanning salon. Husband and I have been coming here for almost 2 years. We bought an annual package and then moved out of the area. The salon near our new home told us our pass was expired but a really nice worker at Manhattan was able to help us. She was very sweet and quickly fixed our online information. Customer service is exceptional! I go sunbed tanning about 3 times a weeks here and I love it here. The facility and each rooms are kept very clean (not even a trash in the trash bin clean). I am always tight on time because I come in right before my work and it helps that the staffs are super friendly and make the process quick and easy. Everyone is super caring but I especially love to walk in and see Dana working because she is so bubbly and very attentive to everyone even if there are two people ahead of me in line to check-in. Love coming to Cop a Tan, it's been about 3 months now and it's always a clean and quick stop, never have to wait for parking nor a room. The salon just recently got new bulbs for their beds, good news for the guests. And Who doesn't love to be greeted at the door and actually be remembered by name. The girls are great, very knowledgable and accommodating. I began with a 1 month Groupon, and now I'm a member. Very economic packages available and if at some point you don't feel you need it, you can end your membership as long as its with good times notice (month before next payment) or you can freeze your account for 5 dollars. I paid $65 for a booth to spray me it is usually $50-60 for a custom airbrush spray tan. My chest and face got sprayed really heavy and spotty and my back is white so I definitely do not recommend this place for spray tanning it was a rip off. read more

Rip off artists. When you sign up, they tell you you can put your membership on hold at any time. Turns out there is only a 7 day window each month where you can put your membership on hold. And depending upon the timing of cancelling your membership, they can charge you up to 2 more months before it actually cancels. read more

was a regular and decide to put my account on moratorium for a couple of months. Only to find out they started billing my credit card without notifying me. When I explained to them that i misunderstood the agreement they refused to give me a refund. When I said I wanted to cancel my account, they wouldn't do it over the phone and informed me they were going to charge my account for an extra month because it was too late to close it this month. She refused to accommodate me, and it was her that lead me to believe two months ago that this would be the cheapest option instead of just closing my account. 2 year customer left furious. read more

The representatives are so helpful and personable, I have to give a special shout out to Bryauna who immediately knows my name, what bed I usually use, how long I tan each time and reminds me of my upgrade status immediately. All of the representatives are WONDERFUL, Jessica, Griselda and Chrissy THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have been even driving out of my way rather than go to a closer one, because all of you do such a terrific job!
