The place is riddled with in a homeless encampment. I parked on a side street and walked to the entrance on Alameda. It was not nice. Definitely wear long pants and long sleeves. You do not want to wear sandals or have any open skin. It is not nice and it smells. I would recommend wearing a mask too. Once you get in, it's pretty straight forward. The office employees are helpful and nice. They bring out your vehicles. I recommend bringing the lot number of the vehicles you want to view so that it's easier and more efficient to bring up. You can also ask them to bring around a machine to plug into the battery to see if it'll start up and you can see if there are any check engine lights on. I like the place, I didn't end up bidding because I saw some frame damage under the engine. Make sure to really inspect because you don't want to bid or buy something that'll cost more to fix than the vehicle itself. read more

I came in to get dash cam footage and they are extremely unhelpful make you jump through hoops to actually see your own car than noticed they had damaged the car even further than what it had originally had. They did not let me charge my car to get the dash cam footage cause"against policy" even tho this was essential to our insurance case. I'm baffled by the idiocitic nature of the stupid employees. Be careful with these dirty white collar crooks, they'll get you with the fineprint -- once you leave the yard there is NOTHING you can do about anything. My car was advertised as *engine start program* but the vehicle would not start in the yard with a jumper box so I was told that it was just a bad battery. I went to get a new one at AutoZone only to discover that the engine was seized up and the starter began to smoke -- lesson learned the hard way. Always always always inspect the vehicle you want to buy -- but even better -- buy one somewhere else because they *pretty* up their cars up before listing them and their descriptions are misleading. Piss poor customer service. And I mean "piss". About 20 people live in junky RVs with trash piled up. You have to walk past this to get to the office. Then you check in and wait 45 minutes to be called in, only to find no one at the counter. Another 5 minutes and finally someone helps you. Don't expect clear instructions on when you're going to get your car. If they don't get to you, you'll have to come back, pay a fee once you walk past Hobo City, then wait again for what could be hours. They add fees and middle men wherever they can and run the kickbacks. I used this online service to try and buy a salvaged motorcycle. I signed up for their service as well as one of the brokers (which required a fee) and as the auction got near to a close - all of the websites ceased to work, I was logged out of everything and was unable to bid on the motorcycle that I spent a week researching and TWO HOURS of my morning to drive down into the ghetto, examine, make notes and then rush over to work all to have it fall apart. What's the point of the service if it fails miserably the moment it needs to not fail? Make sure to check t he fine print with all the fees etc - they are outrageous. This thing is like that stupid stuffed animal grappling-hook machine in the pizza parlor that costs $2. They successfully stole my vehicle. wow. I sent them a copy of my factory (MSO) title and pictures of my newly salvaged 2013 BMW F800GS motorcycle and they made an offer. After a little negotiation they dispatched a truck to pickup my vehicle and cut a check. I provided them everything they asked for including the vehicle, keys, factory title, accessories, etc. Come to find out they had some sort of internal issue about the title being a factory MSO title since the vehicle was new and not yet registered. So instead of calling me to work it out, sign some more papers, or even ask for a refund.. they simply cancelled the check and I didn't hear about it till my bank notified me. They now have my vehicle, keys and title and my only recourse is to take them to court. What a terrible operation of salvage yard dogs. read more

If you enjoy paying exorbitant buyer fees for a vehicle that may, or may not be anything like it's description, by all means work with Copart. For example, I won an auction for a motorcycle. The winning bid was $2,600. Was I shocked to receive an invoice for $3,175!?! $575 in buyers fees on a $2,600 salvage piece of shit??? Total rip off. Maybe this is typical in the insurance/salvage auction world? I don't know...this was my first. Definitely my last. Also, from my personal experience, these guys will do ANYTHING to deceive you into paying a higher price. In this case the bike was a 2007 model and, being a motorcycle less than 3 years old, one would expect mileage to be fairly low. So what did they do? They unplugged the guage cluster so the odometer wasn't visible prior to the listing. How do I know? The mileage was listed on all the documents I received AFTER I picked up the bike. The guage cluster wasn't broken, they had unplugged it clearly as a deceptive measure to hide mileage from unsuspecting bidders. I plugged it back in and, yup, works perfectly, and perfectly matched the docs that THEY had on file which was over 31,000. Total SCAM. Bottom line... NEVER AGAIN! Do not come here! My car was towed here so my insurance could inspect my car to determine the damages. I was never notified to remove my personal items from the car before my car was processed. A brand new laptop, money, expensive perfume, and a designer backpack was stolen from my car. And no one knows what happened. I signed a release form to have my car sent there but did not state my personal items were removed. Now they are declining to show video footage from when my car was received and processed. I would give them 0 stars. This place has HORRIBLE customer service. My car had been stolen and then recovered but totaled, and the insurance pointed me to this company to tow my car away. I called them and was greeted by a woman named Cynthia, who immediately put me on hold for about 7 minutes before I hung up and called back. When I called back, she answered immediately and then put me on hold AGAIN for another 10 minutes. When I finally hung up and called for the THIRD TIME, I was not put on hold but rudely told my reservation had been cancelled and I had to talk to the insurance to make another one. WTF. So after finally getting another reservation and finally being able to talk to someone that was not miss Cynthia, I was told that my car would be picked up the next day and they would call me an hour before they were going to come. I had no calls or notification at all, and my car was taken before I could get some of my final things out!! I called this horrible company yet again and was greeted by yet another horrible receptionist that put me on hold for yet another 10 minutes, and when I hung up and called again I was very rudely and abruptly told that they would call me when the driver got back. Never heard from them. I actually don't want my things back from my car anymore if it means having to call this horrible place again. They have no consideration for others, no kind of integrity, and no customer service skills WHATSOEVER! I will NEVER EVER EVER have dealings with this place again.
