Settle in for this one. We set an appointment to pick up our car. Get there and PEDRO tells us okay I just need to grab the plate, take pictures, and I'll bring it out. That alone took 30 minutes. After searching the car that had close to nothing already in it since we had taken all personal items except what the lot needed: our registration and our license plate. After searching the empty car for 10 minutes we head back inside and tell them we are missing our license plate. PEDRO then says they will go look for it. 30 minutes go by. We now ask AURA, another worker, what is going on and if anyone is looking for the plate she advises us that she'll go ask the manager in which to our surprise NO ONE WAS LOOKING FOR THE PLATE. So now after ANOTHER 20 MINUTES. I asked PEDRO if they needed help finding the plate since it seems they are either low staffed or incompetent in keeping documents together. He then straight up says "we may have lost your plate" . After another 30 minutes of them "SEARCHING" for the plate we give up and give in our information in case they "find it". So we go outside and sit in our other car as we are trying to figure out how to drive the car we picked up home, they have one of their forklift drivers come out and ATTEMPT TO OPEN OUR CAR WITH AN EXTERNAL BATTERY TO LOOK FOR THE LICENSE PLATE. We walk up and ask them what they are doing they say "looking for the plate" and our response is "without telling us after we already picked up the car? We are sitting right there with the key to the car." The driver just says "oh" and proceeds to look in the car again for the PLATE THAT WASNT THERE!!! At this point I'm LIVID. You clearly lost the plate and NEVER communicated that you did or were even in need to look for it. The VERY FIRST THING PEDRO SAID was that he need to grab the LICENSE PLATE before getting the car. After driving home, we had recently moved and needed the registration to the car to register it for our parking lot. Just take a huge guess as to where the last place the registration was seen? AT COPART. So not only do they have my plate but now also my registration. GOD FORBID I HAD GOTTEN PULLED OVER DRIVING HOME!!!! This place sucks, the employees suck even more. The sad ending to our beloved Camry was countered by the very friendly folks here, who were understanding of my ability to retrieve my belongings for several weeks. Art, the gentleman at the counter when we finally did make it to get the items, was quick, helpful, and sympathetic to our woes. Everything that had been in the car at the time of the wreck was still there: portable keyboard, disc golf equipment, huge puzzle board, AND the Ray-ban sunglasses! They had even removed the UC Irvine alumni license plate holder and placed it in the car. We could not have been more thrilled! They would not let me view a vehicle on Friday as they have auction that day. I was told 8-11 on Friday and I got there at 11:04. My bad but sheesh I just drive 200 miles to view some cars. The lot in NY was accommodating as I flew in to view some cars and they let me in anyways even when the lot was closed for something. Thieves. I was hit by someone running a red light and they had farmers insurance. Farmers took full liability and she where I wanted the car sent I gave them my repair shop and they sent it without my permission to this wrecking yard (too close to the border) without my consent. Copart ransacked my car ruining the interior, stole all of my power tools, title, stole DMV and repair documentation and personal items and my electronics lent to me by my school. Copart is run by criminals that had a cover story of "well, how do you know it was us?" and blamed the tow company with the 24hr surveillance from when the car was picked up to where it sat in the lot. The staff here isn't very helpful. I Had purchased a car online through them for pickup and it took me over 6 hours to get my car. They aren't clear on instructions and the staff mislead me a few times. Wasting hours of my day. This QR code line system they have needs a much bigger sign, because you don't really know to do that until after you waited in line for an hour or so. Stay away from this place, don't purchase online from this big company. It looks respectable online but the part of their business that is in person is horrible. This company doesn't have this part figured out. While plenty of employees are working, it will take you hours upon hours to get your car. 01/07/22- scheduled my old car for donation pick-up, i was scheduled from 1-5. Took time off work since I needed to be close to the location when they called. After no calls or text, I called around 4:30pm and first one I spoke to couldn't find my appt and I got disconnected then the second person said that the driver assigned to me got sick and my appt got cancelled. I asked why I was not informed but they didn't offer an explanation. This guy Osokarlos? told me they can pick up first thing in the morning next day which is Saturday. I asked if I can call them to confirm and he said yes. Today, already 9:13a.m., I find out they are closed, so I can't even follow-up on the pick-up schedule. Copart have the worst service in history, and its very common, but today at this Copart facility they were 2 person working and very slow and every 2 min they will be gone and coming back after 20 min talking chilling with other employees. The QR code to get in the line doesn't work if you know anyone or if you speak Spanish you good to get in otherwise stay outside and I asked them the QR code says 45min and I been waiting over 88min they will say yeah that QR is not correct wait more. With a line of more than a dozen people, many representing multi-vehicle pick ups, only 2 people up front helping customers. Add to that their ever changing method for getting in line (QR code for a while, suddenly that's useless), you get surly and inept help when you get there. On an 8 a.m. openI arrived to find clients already in line, inside. They don't allocate enough employees to do a lengthy and tedious job. **WARNING** Yelp meltdown ahead, proceed at your own risk... As some of you might know, our car was involved in a head on collision on El Cajon Boulevard last week due to the negligence of a drunken driver. I can't explain to you how much this whole experience sucks. The woman that caused the accident, though arrested and jailed, got off without any damage to her car. I hope there's a warm place in Hell for drunk drivers. Our car was towed off that night and taken to a tow yard near the Sports Arena, it was picked up the next day by our insurance company and taken to Copart so the insurance adjuster could look at it and then proceed to screw us out of the fair market value for our car. But that's another story... Astrid and I went to Copart today to try to pick up our personal belongings from the car. We called ahead like they recommended and then showed up about 45 minutes later. The woman that helped us handed us two orange vests and after signing liability waivers, we were told that we would need to wait 20 minutes for our car to be moved to the staging area where we could unload it. We waited for 20 minutes and were told that our car should be out in the lot ready to inspect. We walked outside, but it wasn't there. We went back in and were then told that it would be another few minutes. So back outside to wait...and wait...and wait. We were finally told that the car was "put away wrong" after the adjuster looked at it yesterday and they couldn't find it. WTF???? What do you mean you can't find it? How do you lose an entire fucking car in a closed lot? So we waited another 20 minutes, the whole time, the staff telling us that our car was next up. We finally gave up because we have to pack and catch a flight to San Francisco this afternoon. I counterbid again at $7400 since they don't leave any other option to end the bid. Again, I receive another email that the seller counter bid again at $7900. I decided this is too much scam. If anyone wants to be able to go to the back towards the lot, You have to show I.D. but unfortunalately when I went back there with my mom the two ladies at the front desk did not ask us for I.D. and did not give us any orange vest for the big trucks to see us.
