Disappointing Experience They'll say whatever it takes over the phone to get you in the door. I spoke with three different people who all promised they would match or beat the trade-in value I had in writing from another dealership. After wasting 90 minutes of my time, their actual offer came in far lower. I actually felt bad for the sales rep I worked with--he clearly hadn't been told about any of those prior conversations. Went to lease a car with a great credit score. Salesman told me $200 for the Chevy Trax. After running my credit he came back and said $475 monthly with $5000 down for a Chevy Trax. A freaking Chevy trax..smh. Went across the street and leased a 2025 Honda CRV $0 down $425 monthly. These Guys here are beyond money hungry. Stay far away from this place. read more

I bought a brand new vehicle from here early April. I was told that the first two oil changes are free by the salesman. I went in this morning for my second free oil change and they insisted GM only offers one. So after explaining what the salesman said and even had the name, they said all they could do was use my own accumulated Chevrolet points. I won't be going back for any of my upcoming services and will go to Nucar Chevrolet in Norwood. read more

As an update to the problem I had with Copeland Chevrolet, the owner has recently called me and apologized and was very polite. I am hoping that all the little problems that I brought up to the owner gets rectified. These problems might be due to the dealership being brand new. It is positive when the owner admits they have made some errors in the past and is willing to correct them. Just gave Copeland another try with my Corvette. Unfortunately I had a flat tire. The Corvette expert tried and tried and tried and could not get my tire on the rim even after he told me he kept it in the backseat of his truck in the hot sunny area. I would have thought a certified Corvette mechanic could put a tire on a rim but I understand they're very difficult to do so so with that I give him the get out of jail card. Unfortunately when I get my car back two days later the tire looked fine the rim could've been cleaner even though they put armor on the face of the tires, after doing an oil change they were greasy paw prints on my hood and finally they didn't do an inspection sticker and a little tiny pieces of paper from scraping the inspection sticker off was still on my dashboard. I really appreciate them giving the best try they could but in order to work on a $80,000 car they are going to have to pick up their game a little bit and treat the customers car a little bit nicer. My recommendation if you have a cooler bag do not bring it to Copeland to have the tires repaired or replaced. The customer service manager and the mechanic were very very nice and pleasant to deal with. read more

After making the 2 hour trip down, I checked out the car and even took it for a test drive. After about an hour of looking over the vehicle I decided I wanted to buy it. The salesman went to talk to his manager about what I was thinking for a price and then came back and asked me to give him my credit card so that his manager would know I'm serious... he then came back and told me that they actually just sold it to someone else...... i will never go back. read more

I have had a couple of experiences with this dealer servicing my Chevy Volt, ranging from bad to NIGHTMARE. First off, I LOVE my Volt and it's a fantastic car; I've had it (pleasantly) serviced elsewhere, but circumstances were such that I HAD to bring it here (despite the ominous reviews). I brought it in to have a check engine light (bad EGR valve + cooler), and an issue where the car would start smoking - and smell (obviously) - when running on gas, addressed. This was under warranty, so there was no charge, and they said they fixed the smoking/smell issue (which they didn't). All told, I got it back half-repaired, 5 days late (it took well over 2 weeks for 5hrs labor). At least the check engine light was off? I notified them within a day or two, and when I brought it back, the car was now over the warranty's mileage, so they refused to cover it, even though they tried AND FAILED to fix it under warranty! They said "you said it was smoking before, right now we just notice a smoky smell; that's a different issue, and showed up after your warranty expired." LIKE I HAD TO ORIGINALLY SPECIFY THE SMOKE HAD A SMELL?! They said it was the front crankshaft seal, which I knew would be expensive, but told them to go ahead anyway, figuring I'd fight it later, and clearly I NEEDED my car (which they know, and obviously take advantage of). All told, I got it back 3 days late with a $2900 bill (!!!) for a REAR crankcase seal, a MUCH more intense and expensive job. They had it a total of 3 weeks for about 12hrs of labor. After getting it back, the smell started again IMMEDIATELY. I pulled over to do a general check, and when I got to the oil dipstick, I pulled it up and it was DRY! BONE-FUCKING-DRY!! I rechecked a dozen times because I couldn't believe it... THEY FORGOT TO REFILL MY ENGINE AFTER OPENING IT UP! God only knows what sort of damage was done to the engine! Thank God I had just bought a case of oil to do an oil change, the tiny 1.5L engine to TWO WHOLE QUARTS of oil to get mid-way up the dipstick! On top of that, the second I got the car back, I noticed a scraping sound as soon as I started moving. After looking around, I found they failed to reattach my underbody paneling, which was now DRAGGING BEHIND THE CAR AND THEY DIDN'T NOTICE! I actually had to get under the car with a knife and cut it off. My brand new car has now had its panels ripped off, wrong parts replaced causing more damage, and had its engine run without oil for 100+mi, and I only got it 4 months ago, in PRISTINE condition right off of a corporate lease. Copeland has thus far charged me just under $3,000 for the privilege of causing probably an additional $5-8k in damage (all while fixing nothing). If I could give them zero stars I would, but since I CAN take them to court, that's probably where we're headed next if they can't work with me + the original dealer (who's also PISSED about all this) by allowing me to either exchange this vehicle, or offer me an extended warranty to cover all the damage they've done (both obvious to the eye, and more "suspect" stuff like the engine). read more

I tried to return my lease on 3/31. I was told I could drop off the truck anywhere by GM financial and my end of lease inspector. The salesman (Steve, an older bald gentleman) told me their system was down and that they could not take the truck and to come back another time. When I asked him if there was anything else he could do to help, he stated that he didn't even have to take the truck since I did not lease it from them originally. He also stated that he could tell GM that their lot was too full to take the truck back. I guess he wanted me to drop it off in Detroit or something ;)... I even asked if I could just leave the vehicle overnight since I had no ride to go back the following day and he refused stating he cannot have the vehicle sit here (I have no idea why since cars sit there for service and sales all the time). I called GM today and they stated the salesman lied to me and that they should have taken the car. I can bring it to any Chevy dealer and even if their system was down that they could do a manual transaction to record the odometer and return. I really could have used a little help and this salesman really did not care to offer me anything but the door. I don't know if he was having a bad day himself, but he did not represent Copland Chevy well that day. Hopefully if I ever go back again the experience will be different, but I won't be going out of my way to go there again, that's for sure :-/. read more

I had called about a 2015 Silverado and made an appointment for a test drive. Traveled an hour and 20 minutes. When I arrived the staff were quick to great me and professional. The truck was out front but filthy. Took a few minutes to find scratches down most of the passenger side, and when I got in the interior had an overwhelming stench. It was obvious that the previous owner had smoked cigars and if they had made an effort to clean it the smell would never come out. read more

I would definitely shop this location again. You do need to enter the dealership with the right (positive)attitude and tell them exactly what your expectations are for your purchase and trade in. A clear understanding of value on what you are looking for and what you currently own will help you from feeling short changed after the deal is made. See, I have a vanity plate, which they must have misspelled on the paperwork, so now my registration doesn't match my plate number. Found this out when I tried to get an inspection sticker. She then said she would have a member of the sales team reach out to me. No one from the sales team contacted me. Friday, October 25th, 2019 * After receiving no response from a member of the sales team, I made another inquiry about the vehicle, this time via the online chat feature on the website. I provided my information and the agent told me they would have a member of the sales team reach out to me with next steps. No one from the sales team contacted me. Saturday, October 26th, 2019 * I received a phone call from Raina. She asked me if anyone from the sales team had reached out to me. I told her no and that I was beginning to think it was personal. She then transferred me to William Smith who invited me down to the dealership. We confirmed a time for noon and he told me to ask for Mr. Buchanan when I arrived. * I arrived earlier than expected at 11:30AM. I proceeded to the reception desk and provided my name to the receptionist. I then told her that I had an appt. with Mr. Buchanan. The receptionist told me Mr. Buchanan was busy helping other customers and to go have a seat in the waiting area, which I did. * While in the waiting area, I e-mailed Raina at 11:30AM that I had arrived earlier than expected. * I waited in the waiting area until 1:30PM. Not a single member of the Copeland Chevrolet staff offered to assist me or check if I was being helped. * After two hours of waiting, I departed the dealership. It is my sincere hope that no other customer is treated in this manner. I left Copeland Chevrolet feeling disrespected, disregarded, and not worth their time or effort. Worked with a new sales person who was friendly but not very knowledgeable but the process was smooth and I was happy with the price of used Equinox. Gave me fair trade in value and the sales person followed up with phone call a few weeks after purchase to see if I was happy with the car. The reason I won't go back to Copeland is because of the business manager or whatever the title is of the person who does all of the final paper work/financial information. He was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I already had financing thru my bank and I made it clear I didn't want any extended warranty service he was trying to sell me. Once he realized he would not be getting any extra cash from me he didn't say a word other than to slide forms across the table and say "sign here". When I had signed all of the documents all he said was " you can go back to your sales person now" No thank you or handshake. I understand it is their job to up sell services but to be treated like that after he realized he would not be making any mon ey from me was insulting. read more

This dealership made a mistake that resulted in multiple incorrect credit inquiries and made so many mistakes that a lease took a month and a half to be finalized, all while having the sale price of the vehicle being leased increased by over 1000 dollars from what was discussed. Just bought a certified pre-owned 2016 Chevy Malibu from Copeland Chevrolet. Postives: Dan Brand was my salesman. He was great. I guess the poor guy ended up having to jump my trade after it wouldn't start when I left. What can I say, "She" always was a grumpy car. Ha! Really though, sorry Dan. They were all polite. Even when I went to get my sticker yesterday. Not really a bunch of pressure to buy. When I initially browsed their lot. They didn't hound me. Also their attitude didn't change as soon as I gave them down payment & my signature. I had that experience at VW Quirk Braintree when I bought my last car. Not a fun one. Negative: that was a similar experience to Quirk VW. I noticed something basic was missing after purchase. With Quirk VW it was an antenna. There was no help with that once I bought the car. They already had the money. With Copeland Chevrolet it was similar. Except it was floor Mats. My fault for not noticing/checking. I did pay the $130 (who would of thought mats would be so damn expensive lol) to get the all season ones yesterday. I didnt expect free ones persay. That would of been nice. But a little discount or something after buying a car from them would of been cool. Overall I would recommend them. Straight talk - It does seem like a dealership. As they all do. Drove 2 hours for a test drive before I made the purchase (prequalified with cash in hand). William Smith (Bill) confirmed with me 1 hour before that I would be there for the test drive. When I got there no one helped me, Steve Buchanan then came out with no face mask on and rudely asked me what I was looking for. I explained to him I had an appointment to test drive a vehicle. He then proceeded to tell me that very specific car was sold. When I asked why Bill confirmed the appointment with me he said "Hey it's retail" and walked away. As I was walking out another customer was walking in and saw my frustration. Long story short they were there to speak to a manager about a car they had bought the previous week that had a laundry list of issues that the dealership was refusing to fix. I've been coming here for a little while and the service department has been exceptional in taking care of things I need even if last minute. I called for my truck air conditioning to be fixed and scheduled an appointment for the end of the week. Rodrigo the sales person lied directly to my face over and over about the process of "trading in" my Leased vehicle. In the end I paid 7000.00 to turn in my lease early. I would have kept the vehicle and waited to buy a new one if I wasn't lied to about certain costs being covered. I called to go over the details with him and his manager Max and ask for them to pay for what was promised to me and they just threw the contract in my face. These people do not care about you.. I had my Chevy truck towed to Copeland Chevy Dealer. Squirrel had built a home in my engine. They chewed my wires. Who knows Chevrolet better then anyone else. Copeland Chevrolet does. They order the hole wiring harnesses. Had to take out my dash and seats. They put everything back Perfectly. I tested everything. Looked it all over. Awful experience. My husband bought a car there 2 years ago. He took it in for an oil change 3 months after buying the car and was told the oil in the car was sludge....Earlier this month we needed a new belt and water pump ($1,300). The mechanic told us there was no reason a car with such little mileage would need that much work unless the car was faulty. Saturday night, at 10pm the car died on Rte.24, the engine seized. To replace the engine, it is another $5,000. I called the service manager, hoping that the dealership would stand by his product, however, the only solution they had was telling me I was "between a rock and a hard place". All we wanted was to turn in the car for what we owed and we would purchase a new one! read more

Drove approximately 1 hr + for the appointment only to be told they sold the Truck after I got there. I guess they don't care about how they conduct business. Came in to look at a Silverado, had been shopping GMC products earlier, looked for 30 mins in the lot and was never greeted. Had to go inside to find someone. Asked for a quote, came back with quote for vehicle that I had not asked about. Lease details were not the ones I specified and was told it would be about 120 more per month. Never entered any of the details I had given him that would lower the payment. Told me this wasn't one of those phony quotes you get online. They were about $200 a month higher than the similarly equipped gmc I had just gotten quoted and left a deposit for. Well looks like I'm on my way to Mastria to buy my new GMC with my phony quote. Very disrespectful place to shop. They didn't even try, never even got to speak to a manager. read more

As another poster stated the $29k advertised price was actually $34k and the trade in offer was insulting (basically offered zero). Still, I countered with an offer and they said no thanks and showed me the door. Haven't been treated like that before - surprising.
